It's frustrating, because Cata is a good expansion, but they have literally abandoned it. I still log on everyday, but I'm one of the few in the guild. I don't understand why they give attention to SoD which doesn't even have half the pop. Heck the just announced today that they are reducing the SoD realms to 2. We need hype back to Cata. I know it's TWW hype for the next week or two, but after that we need something. Molten Front, Firelands PTR, Titan rune info etc.
Focus of Fireland wasnt the Raid though, it was the daylie area of fireland and the progressing there. If they Dungeons were as hard they would have been and only hotfixes (no nerfs) were implemented for the normal raids in p1 we would have much much slower progressing (not to mention the lack of leveling the guild, which was a huge factor for guilds to do old raids/dungeons/content in groups - they can do that but the insentiv is lower) Cataclysm has more daylie content to offer than Wotlk i guess, but it was tied to reputations (which were hard to farm because dungeon were hard, so you could choose to do daylies instead for rep), the guild level, twinking (especially in groups! which also was encouraged by guild lvls). They took so much in terms of progressing, learning and having the feel of "upgrading" from us with the hardcore nerfs + removal of guild lvls and gave us nothing in return, as result we could pug all raids from day 1 without even having to sit in comms.. not to mention most of the peeps that startet on day 1 are propb doing hcs since week 2. And P2 just added 2 dungeons.. p1 and p2 were totally ruined by their changes to their gameplay/game without proper compensation.. a failure befor it even started.. our only hope is p3/p4 and the implementation of unknown content like they did in Wotlk..
I think we're unfortunately going to have an icc togc situation where we get very long phases with little content for cata. The hopium is they're using their time wisely and focusing hard on mop, which they seem to care about a lot more than cata, and we're going to get a lot of cool new content and qol stuff when that expansion drops.
You made it all up for yourself. I was really looking forward to the cataclysm and I don't stop playing it. The next two phases will be even more interesting because there are fewer bosses and I will be able to work less hard to visit the raid with all my characters. That is, the game will be even more enjoyable in the next phases and in the next addons too. Blizzard speed up the gameplay and thank them for that.
I was hyped for cata and the raids. I raid in a 25 man that has cleared all 13/13 HC and I do feel like this is the first tier where pretty much everyone has full BiS long before the end of the phase. A lot of people aren't now signing up for the raids or are more than happy to be benched for the week. For me it's the first tier where I don't really feel like there is anything to do and I'm usually going for all achievements, pets and mounts. Maybe it is due to the amount of loot that drops in 25 man like another comment on this video. People are getting geared quickly and then not even caring to raid
thats the result from having nerfed content on release.. normal/hc dungeons were a joke and the raids were also in their nerfed status (on 4.2 like having less hp/dealing less dmg on alot of abillities and so on) we played on double easy mode for p1/p2 especially if you think about that the classes also exist in their 4.4 state
I played Cata Classic for a month, had some fun, but i've decided to tap out and my "Classic" run ends there. I really enjoy SoD, hope we get a fully fleshed out Classic+ at some point, but i'm done with working through older expansions now post Wrath. Blizzard clearly don't care about Cata Classic anyway and it shows.
This mythical Classic+ idea will never really happen. Enjoy the SoD2 they let you play in a couple years. They have plans to add a new 5 man dungeon deep within the sands of Tanaris. The final boss is a scorpion that 1 shots anyone who does not have 311 nature resistance on uber hero difficulty.
I Really hope they will do something , ( rather sooner then later ). Sure Firelands will be gr8 but same thing as u mentioned.. fund to clear first week or 2. And then its just raidlog.. Heroic plus or whatever and some sort of new stuff would be awesome.. just to help out.
I think the amount of loot dropping in 25m is also an issue. Im not in a hardcore guild by any means and it took us a couple weeks to kill alakir, sinestra, nef and council and loot is basically rotting already which lowers the desire to do the raid if all the loot is obsolete
I love seeing the int plate of Chimearon :^) really 10m should just be 3 pieces of loot for heroic kills 4 including tier. I do hope they go off Scotty’s idea about the 2 legs for 25 and 1 for 10 and keep it at the same pace… but man, they’ve not really much of what they promised so it’s hard to believe they’ll get it right.

I agree with most xommenters. Tier 11 is solid, but its very apparent that theyve gone full in on SoD. Pretty much quit Cata for Retail, cleared 13/13 hc week 3 and there's nothing to do except for alt raids

Improved dungeon experience (titan rune equivalent?) with Catch up currency for alts? Adjustments to ZG/ZA ilvl? Early release for Molten Front? Faster Cadence for Dragonwrath? They jad an opportunity to make a good expansion a way better experience, and they just dont care. As long as you log in once per month and pay your sub, why would they pay an extra college intern to do work when they could simply not. Company is far from what it used to be.
The problem is that content creators and most of ita followers can play the whole day. The normal dudes that have wives and kids they enjoy this gaps so we can catch the pace. We should stop this power gaming and speed playing the games man. It is making everyone to get crazy because of this hunger for making stuff fast and rushed. Please stop.
Yes. As predicted, they are fucking it up. They promised "faster" cadence. It isn't happening. The molten front should be out already. Are they just going to "skip it" like they did the Cata pre-patch event stuff? I love this game but I fucking hate the company that runs it. It really is a few interns running the whole Cata version. They are doing nothing to make Cata better. Nothing. To Microsoft Blizzard: sell the IP to someone else. I am going to clear Heroic Firelands 4-8 times and be done with it. I am already writing my goodbye letter for my guild. I have to get off this hamster wheel. Dragonsoul phase will suck for anyone still playing it at that point. Goodluck.
There are simple things like bug fixes and low respawn rates on ores and herbs that were not a problem in the original launch. Why can't we have basic bug fixes? Sure, things like the rolling conquest/valor caps are great, but other than that it is WORSE than it was when it was live. It is such a good expansion, and I'm having a lot of fun, but this was THE expansion that "some changes" would have really turned it around. This is pathetic, and right now besides population private servers are offering more to players (cross faction, racial swap, etc).
Id rather have a longer dragon soul over firelands. But tbh it does suck theirs not much to do and if tou raid in 25 man u gear up so damn fast . I have a main rogue fully geared with 4 alts catching up to him. Alts is the only keeping me content but even then i hate doing the same damn questline . Everything is so damn repetitive. It makes me want to jump into the war with in for a new first breath of fresh air .
What they need to do is add LFR so I don’t have to spam LFG for a spot in a raid. And I don’t have time to raid with a guild. Then I would actually log on to play

With Firelands only being 7 bosses, I can see guilds doing split / alt runs in order to get more Legendary staffs.

Whereas 10 man loot is awful, 2 items per boss means you have to run the entire tier to see some pieces drop once

For me, the solition is simple. Make T11 a LFR when FL comes out
LFR for previous raid tiers sounds dope as that shit dies as soon as the new patch is out

Cadence has been perfect so far. Most normal guilds are finishing off nef/council, this is excluding the sweaty streamer guilds

My guild is working on heroic nef now. But we are mid dad guild raiders to be fair. Though we are like 10th on the server at the moment.
