No loyalty you're showing your friend Shawn he's a great lesson to be putting out there. I'm so glad I found your channel so long ago. I'm glad to see you doing different things that you do. I noticed you're not showing your kids lately. In today's world it's not a bad idea to keep him off the videos. But I will say that my wife and me hairballs enjoyed watching them. My wife has said each time how beautiful they are. Seeing you interact with your kids is a positive role model. Or maybe in this world where that does not happen as often generally speaking of course. Just thought you would like to know. 👍
I once knew a guy who was obsessed with the Vega. He'd buy every one he saw, but you never saw him drive any of them. One day he showed up at our farm asking my Dad some mechanical stuff and he was finally driving one....well, sorta. lol He transformed one of the wagons into a miniature El Camino and called it a Vegamino. Even had a nameplate on it. He could tell that I liked it and since he needed my Dad to go to his place, he insisted that I come with him. I saw some of the most fascinating things that day. He had over 20 acres in the middle of nowhere with a big barn in the middle of it and all of it was surrounded by a 15 feet tall fence of sheet metal, basically a sheet metal wall all the way around. Inside the wall was a chain link fence, almost the same height, with electrified barbed wire on the top. He sectioned off 1 acre plots and each plot was stacked with specific cars. Vega, Nova, Monza, Chevette, Gremlin, Pacer, Pinto, Maverick and the Mini Mustang. He had a lot of other cars much older as well, but this is about his Vega obsession. I soon found out that he had a lot of hours behind the wheel of the Vega. He had 2 Vegaminos, the other one was a jacked up 4x4 with a V8 under the hood. It was the biggest little truck I've ever seen. lol 3 different dragsters, 2 road racers and a stretch limo...all Vega. He had a Pintero, which is a Pinto Ranchero and a Pinto 4x4. One of the coolest cars there was a Pacer, built the way it was intended to be....with a Wankel. If you've ever driven a Pacer or ridden in one, you know there was nothing special about them. That rotary engine made a world of difference in performance. Holy cow, that thing was fast!! There were other amazing things there, but they all have stories of their own for another day. Seeing those Vega lumps in your video made me think of him for the second time by watching your content. The first time was the day you got the Chevette you recently crushed. You would like one of them he had, he raced it at Bonneville Flats, it was that fast. Walking into his barn was like a kid going into the Candy Store, you'd want to sample each creation. 👍
It's nice to see somebody demonstrate such great loyalty. You're busy guy and you work harder then anybody I can think of. But yet you're helping out your friend Shawn. I realize it's a two-way street. Picture demonstrating that you realize that it is a two-way street. In this world of people who don't understand this or would not care. It is interesting to see the different things that you do. And I haven't seen any kids on here and sometime. Hope they are doing fine
Picking up that tire and wheel and placing it into the rear window of that sedan, very impressive. You always impress with your loader operating skills.
Guessing that was an AMC Eagle sitting there. Always wanted one of those. No special reason. Also you have to love the Vega. The only car ever to rust on the showroom floor.
Everything that you do is a thumbs up, for me who has been a shut in since November, and can't make my own adventures. I have to live vicariously through others and enjoy your adventures.I thank you very much for sharing yours. Stay safe and God Bless.
Great watching you operating the loader, popping exhausts, plucking out engines, those forks are like an extension of your arms. Never ceases to amaze me the trash/treasure is on peoples properties still. Keep up the good work.
Silas, Thank You for the great video . Work never stops at the yard. The Chevy Vegas were Junk when they were new . that 4 cylinder aluminum engines were gutless and oil burners.
Fun video, always give you a thumbs up. You are the real deal, no fake drama, just good old crushing and cool cars. Vega’s we’re good cars, but gas prices of the 70’s made them popular for awhile. I thinks they had a combination cast iron and aluminum block parts that didn’t work out to well together. Stay safe. Peace
Silas I really enjoy your videos went to work for my uncle loading his one-time truck with copper batteries radiators and then later on I went to work at a Recycling yard brings back a lot of good memories
I don't know what it is about watching someone else work, but I could watch it all day! You're really getting the hang of the excavator-- practice makes perfect, as they say. Wish I lived closer... you get some neat old jalopies that would be fun to tinker with (but you're a long way from far east Alabama! Thanks for posting!
the vega was a fun car to drive i had one dint drive 4 some time i was stuck in the drivway i could not get in reverse u had pull the t handell on the gearship up an over to back up
Tailgate is back and its looking Fantastic - You are Happy ! Clearing Your Yard - filling Dumpsters and Crushing a few Cars - lets bent one Car in Half and Crush it - man - I Love it ! That Farm Clean Up should be Interesting - Hope You will be Involved and Recording it ! Yes - Silas - You make these Videos soooo very Interesting for Us ! Many Cheers from Australia !!!!
It always amazes me the skill you have in operating equipment. I think you love your job and don't ever think about quitting and doing something else. One thing I've been wondering about, how do you keep track of what belongs to you and what belongs to your dad.
Always enjoy your videos. Interesting to see your yard in the United States. I live in Scotland to compare how the local scrap yard in Aberdeen works against yours.
I found the Caliber getting crushed quite funny. I owned a 2008 Caliber AWD. I put 122k on it over 12 years. It began to nickel and dime me to death, so I traded it in. It was a great AWD vehicle for the wife to drive. It drove thru anything in the winter.
I bought a used Vega hatchback in 1973 and had a lot of fun with it. But it's aluminum block engine burnt oil like crazy, so much so that I had to drive with a case of engine oil in the back. By the time I dumped the car in 1976, it was burning a quart of oil every 100 miles.
11:15 Mopar guys can use those hatch back off of those Vegas to clone a super bird junker up RUclips Channel says, he scooped them up whenever he can find them
That's why you folded it in half! I thought you were just fooling around. Looks like a plan, it fit. Cool to watch someone else "have at it" for awhile. Enjoy your videos, gotta compliment you on the machines; you're a good operator. All the best!
Thanks for your nice video. Nice to see how much agility you have in operating your loader. Balancing a wheel on one of the forks, prying open a hood, ripping off parts under the car or under the hood. The red car at the end is a 1972 Fiat 128 Station. You hardly see them anymore. Anyway, I enjoyed your video. Looking forward to the next one. Have a nice week!
that load of steel you got, like you said you could use to support the noses you cut off. If there is a hot rod shop near you they are always looking for stuff like that to support the old bodies and replacing wood with steel. I am sure you could get more then scrap price .
Save me some of that light gauge channel for my '48 packard nose (and drivers door). I'm hoping to hear about shipping on a pallet costs to north TX soon. Thanks Sir-!!!!
Putting that tire through the back glass looked like Putting a pizza in the oven 😂😂 Busy days, hopefully $$ days. Have a great Memorial day weekend, stay safe and GOD bless
Thanks for riding along with me for a couple of days! As you can see, I'm always busy doing many different things.
you asked us to leave a comment...... i asked on two other Videos about the price of scrap that You send in....... ?

Always a fun adventure!
You're one of the hardest working men.I know. You are truly a self starting self employed person who always find something to do.
Have a great memorial weekend.

Silas, Thank You for the great video . Work never stops at the yard. The Chevy Vegas were Junk when they were new . that 4 cylinder aluminum engines were gutless and oil burners.
Silas, I really enjoyed that episode where you ripped out those motors to recoup the cats. Great video.
That orange and white Vega is a rare car. 1973 "Millionth Vega" with many options, that paint scheme, and the door handles say Millionth Vega.
That's cool. The door handle does say millionth Vega
Silas you have the skill of a surgeon with that loader 👍
