    He left after OMD was published, and even refused to sign the last issue, absolute legend.
    He proved you can tell amazing stories with an adult and married Peter Parker, but sadly, Marvel will never allow it, and Joe Quesada is a hack who destroyed the character and everything he stands for, not only with OMD, but also with Sins Past...
    It hurts me that JMS's run is mostly remember for those two atrocities he had no control over instead of the awesome little stories we had in the middle.

    When they pulled that bullshit having Peter make a deal with the devil to save aunt Mays life I stopped reading spider man. I had been reading it since 1970 or so and have the entire run up to them. The best, they very best, was Joes take with the dynamic romita Jr art with Ezekiel and delving into the mystical take on his origin...loved it...looked forward to every new issue. And they shit it up completely. Never went back...

      Steve M I'm right there with you. I was done and stayed done. We were feed this idea that characters as strong as Peter and Mary Jane couldn't cope with death... Nonsense. May would have been ashamed. What exactly did Peter learn from May's perseverance after Ben's death if not the strength to carry on?

      @@BrentCrihfield Marvel just took it for granted and fuck continuity. Long-seasoned fans who respect continuity and grew up hold more honor than the higher ups who continue pumping stagnation.

    That was a rather profound statement from JMS. I had no idea that the issue where Peter admits his secret to Aunt May inspired people in real life to diclose issues of their own such as homosexuality! I love that issue of his run, and after watching this video, my appreciation for JMS's character defining run on Spider-Man has grown even more!

      Naruto85RasenShuriken no it has nothing to do with that this guy ruined spiderman, is like the m night shyamalan from comic books, just a bunch of melodramatic over the top sad scenes that makes no sense , everything is forced and boring, he just has a giant ego.

    To be honest about JMS's run. It maybe didn't have the thrill of spider man's missions and saving people. But he made MJ and Peter closer and his run had the best Pete-Mj romance undeniably. And unfortunately, Quesada royally fucked up spider man comics with
    1. Sins past
    2. One more day, the only thing remotely good about this was the confirmation of Peter and MJs love by mephisto
    and it is hard to digest the fact that most of the stories post OMD could have happened with them married to each other. And now Spencer has retconned OMD in #60 (Not gonna spoil it) and I hope we have a proper conclusion to Kindred. @Steve M, I suggest you start reading it after OMD, cuz there might be a surprise in the current run.

      Spencer was going to retcon OMD, but Nick Lowe didn't allow that. He did retcon some parts of it tho, he also retconned Sins Past, I think Spencer is an absolute legend for that.

    Jms lovers and quesada despisers forget one thing. Its 100% true jms never wanted OMD to happen. But when trying to figure out how to do it, Jms wanted to retcon the majority of books from 1970 onwards. For those complaining about OMD being a slap in the face for continuity, that would've been way worse, but quesada overruled doing it that way. So yes OMD sucked and its quesada's fault for making it happen, but he did at least stop Jms doing an even worse version of it.

      @@user-xt4pk7my6h I literally said a couple of times in my comment quesada made a mistake, so why is it “or”? How about addressing the way JMS wanted to do OMD which would have made almost all Spider-Man comics ever made to that point meaningless.

    • @Jordothecat98
      @Jordothecat98 2 года назад

      @@O-revisor it’s not mentioned in this video but google it, quesada describes how JMS wanted to do it that way and JMS has never denied it. I repeat again since a previous replier was too much of a dumbass to realize: I disagree completely with Quesada wanting to get rid of the marriage originally. But his way of doing it was the lesser of two evils compared to what JMS had in mind

      Sorry, quesada doesn't get credit for lessening a problem he created. Not even in a "yes it was his fault, but to give credit where it's due..." kinda way, he could have just not done one more day in the first place.
