I also believe it's best to take your time and enjoy the game at one's pace. I started playing Code Realize 10 months ago and I still haven't completed all the routes... I'll probs do that this summer, hopefully ^^;

'Healthy boundaries' is the perfect way to describe it! I really just let a lot of unnecessary pressure/stress build up until I felt burnt out. Oh, really? Time just flew by when I was playing JJ!! I think I played through one route in a day or maybe two because it was so captivating and beautiful. I cried like a baby, too! And I don't do that too much lately when playing games (Ok, I lied - Virche made me cry, too, HAHAHA). But still - JJ is SO good, I wish it was even longer!

Nah, doesn't sound weird to me at all! There's nothing better than having a good cry over a game that manages to make you emotional, haha. And the best part about JJ is that I cried because it was beautiful, not because it was sad! Oh, and by the way, you can totally change the difficulty level! I didn't find it too hard, and that's coming from someone who sucks at rhythm games, LOL. The songs in JJ are just so magical!! 23:06 I was thinking "Ah, yeah, for me it was Hanazakari no Kimitachi e or Hana-Kimi as the manga was published"- then I'm googling and it's the same thing 😳 I wanna watch drama with Choi Minho as the lead, but for me they're forever Mizuki Ashiya and Izumi Sano, I imagine it's gonna be weird to see these characters referred to by Korean names 🙃

Full reviews are really important. So many reviewers just do 15 or 30 min quick start of the game. Good reviewers review the whole game.

I've yet to play 3/4th of the EN localized Switch titles (currently on VariBarri, more than a full year after relase...) so I say take your time! Getting to play at your own pace and make content on the games you want to make content is more important than hype or immediate relevancy, imho. Your 7s'Carlet review was the first thing I saw on this channel (before coming across your Lover Pretend one today and suscribing!) and it was absolutely lovely, heartfelt and in-depth - this game is several years old and not fairly known, and yet your interest for it really shone through. Regardless of the topic, if you feel as strongly for what you're making it'll be fun to watch, I think!
That being said, all the hype regarding Otome Summer is justified. ^^ We'll be eating good in the following months!
The #1 game I'm excited for is N9 Last Era! I may or may not have teared up when the localization was announced, it was so unreal. I've played Norn 9 in its original, terribly localized PSVita glory and haven't been able to stop gushing about it since. I want more interactions with this lot more than I want anything else (it also seems like the game's closer to a sequel than a fandisk, which I'm here for
Thank you for your opinions! I think I was putting a lot of needless stress on myself to try and keep up with current releases that it left me feeling burnt out. Taking time off really helped me create healthy boundaries and get back into playing otome without feeling pressured by myself and actually enjoy playing these games again!
My jaw was literally on the floor when they announced the Norn9 fan disk. I was in complete shock! I'm so glad that companies are going back to older titles and giving them the international love they deserve. Jack Jeanne is another game that I never thought would come to the west but I am *so* glad they decided to release this title. I love an otome with some gameplay and I feel like it will add variety to the otome market.
Autumn has some very dark titles coming out, which I feel like it will fit the theme of the season perfectly. I'm so excited! 😊

I think I’m the most excited for radiant tale & charade maniacs. Charade maniacs music is 👌🏽 so I really wanna play that! I’m scared of Virche though…… I know I’m going to suffer so I’m saving a light hearted game to bounce between 😅
That's such a good idea to have a light hearted game in between Virche. I know it's going to destroy me emotionally but I am SO READY FOR IT. 😂 I totally agree with you with Charade Maniacs, the music sounds so good and all the characters look really interesting!
I absolutely agree with not putting too much pressure on yourself and rather just enjoy playing the games. As someone who plays a route here and then a route in another game so I take forever to finish all the routes in a game I would definitely go crazy if I had to finish my games faster or on a schedule haha I'm also fine with seeing reviews for games that have been out for a while cuz it's always fun to see what people think of them.
Speaking of, would 100% love a Dairoku review from you since I haven't played it yet and your opinions align the most with mine out of reviewers I watch ^^
So hype over all the games we're getting, localization dream this year. I'm most excited about Radiant Tale and for English speaking fans to finally get JJ! I hope it does well so localizers maybe bring over more games with gameplay >w
It's definitely much more fun to play a game at your own pace rather than forcing yourself to stick to a schedule! 😊 Radiant Tale looks like it'll be an extremely cute game, I can't wait for it! I totally agree with you about JJ. I hope that Koei Tecmo notices the appeal for titles with gameplay and they localize the Angelique series eventually! 😭

Thanks for the update and ur concern about hobbies feeling like a chore is very understandable, so do what feels right at your comfortable pace! Everything you suggested sounds great I’d love to see your otome merch collection. Your shelves look so nice I’ve been thinking of buying a good shelf to display my manga and merch properly. Only just realised that white shelves look so much better.
I also love the jack jeanne opening song, watched the trailer a hundred times cuz of it! Tho I’m not completely sure yet if I want it. I‘m quite interested in Wand of fortune cuz the art style looks so cute same with Radiant Tale. It looks so colourful and I really love the opening songs for those too.
There’s so many games to choose from and so little time and money so I think lets plays would be very useful. For video ideas, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on ur fave VAs and manga.
And here r some other vague ideas:
The different types of genres. Sorta like if u like this then u might like this.
Some people enjoy otome cuz they recognise/ liked VAs from anime or they might like cute shojo romance manga etc
So drawing links between those to attract the people with potential to become otome fans maybe
But just making separate videos on those topics could also bring those people to ur channel too

3) I have been getting into Shojo Manga as well and would love recommendations. I started My Special One and I love it! I ordered a few more series and am eagerly awaiting it!
4) My Winter's Wish is out for delivery today and I can't wait. I love perioed otome games. Radient Tale is one I am most excited for this summer.

Yes those would be some manhwas! I'm so happy they're printing physical versions now 💕😭 Not gonna lie, To the Beautiful You is my guilty pleasure. I was obsessed with Choi Minho when I first watched it and I have such a soft spot for the drama even though I know it's a hot mess 😂
5:53 I had to stop for a good hearty laugh because IGN recently literally said on a live that they don't play every game they review (they're not CRAZY like that, not like they can either not review all games or pay freelancers for good hands-on review material) and if a game is not well known they're not gonna give it a high score cuz apparently popularity is an immediate sign of quality 😂😭😂

Like, especially being in a niche fandoms like otome or shojo you realize that some things will NEVER have a wide spread appeal, and that's fine, they honestly might get worse if they did (already seeing the titles "perverted asian media seducing children to premarital sin!!1"). It, however, is still sad that some people use popularity as quality/worthiness indicator. Sure, you might also not like it, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. And i am 100% ready to punch every anime boy who asks if I watched Jujutsu kaisen but then scoffs at Loving Yamada at Lv999 or Why Raeliana Ended up at the Duke's Mansion. No more appealing to personal preference and worthiness of shojo/romance, just punching at this point (ಠ_ಠ)
@@DariaElGrellPozina Whoever doesn't watch Loving Yamada at Lv999 is missing out on some S tier anime. I'm in love with that show! 💕 I just try my best to stick to the "don't knock it till you try it" saying. It may surprise you how many hidden gems/hobbies you can find that way!
As an artist, I complete understand burnout like that. I had one MAJOR one back in 2019 and almost did nothing artistic for an entire year! It was that bad. Anything I did make no matter how 'good' it was, I hated it. I am doing art again (thank goodness), but I am definitely not rushing things. See the burn out happened when I was doing commissions, so I am slowly going to get back into things like that because I do love creating things for people. I think I just put too much pressure on myself and with all of my other responsibilities, it was just too much for me at the time, especially when it's not my main source of income. It was just something I did on the side to help save for certain things, like my hobbies.
I say take your time. You know what, I watch different types of review channels, and if a review channel covers something that came out ages ago (Nostalgia Critic being a perfect example), I'll still watch it and if anything, taking time to put out what you want, it might help separate you from other Otome reviewers like Peachy and Lavender (I think I got her name right). Just put you first because as you said, this is a hobby and you don't want it to be a chore.
LOL, hey when you're my age (I am 41 btw), opinions are definitely bound to change. I was a teen when Sailor Moon came out, it was my first major anime obsession (I did watch anime before it but was never obsessed). Now years later, having read the manga and seeing the reboots, I actually overall don't like the original anime. I do think the original did certain things better (the humor and music are still supreme), but the overall story and chars for me personally way better in the reboot because it's more faithful to the manga, with just a few changes here and there. So yeah I am totally fine with your opinions changes and it's cool to hear these new opinions.
I would love to see Manga reviews if you truly want to do them. I have been out of the loop when it comes to new manga, so that be great! I could definitely recommend some old ones, but they be harder to find lol. Like I don't even think my fav manga is being published anymore, which is sad because it's amazing (it's a fantasy adventure romance, which is my fav genre for anything literature related). It's called From Far Away and technically it's isekai, but it's not your typical one because the MC decides to stay in that world since she technically dies on Earth. One awesome detail is that the creators remembered she's from Earth and the world she ends up in, they don't speak her language so she ends up learning their language lol. That's one detail I never paid attention to in any of these types of scenarios, so I loved that. Okay I'll stop gushing now lol.
I actually tend to watch common routes of LPs to see if I am interested in a game, so I am fine if you want to do that. But just do it if you would enjoy doing that. Also the idea of showing off your collection, I am also game (I want that Daifuku plush, he's so cute! lol, j/k).
Winter's Wish- OMG thank you for telling when this game comes out. It is on my radar, and while I can't say when I'll get due to wanting other games more, I definitely want to try it out, but I didn't know when it was coming out. I honestly thought this was going to be a Winter's release lol because of the title hahaha.
Jack Jeanne- I will skip out on this game due to my own personal tastes, but I do hope it's successful. I just never like when an entire story is set up when you have to pretend to be a different gender, it's like waiting for the boot to drop. Plus it just makes me a bit uncomfortable, so yeah not my cup of tea. But that's just me.
Charade Maniacs- OMG I remember that fiasco because I was keeping an eye on it too while doing other things and I was POed too, so much that I forgot the trailer (and that's not good). I have totally forgotten about it too because I am not one to hold grudges and I tend to forget about negative things (there are exceptions, but that in the minority). After hearing the synopsis, yeah the story does sound cool. Only thing I remember from the trailer was liking the artwork (it's the first thing I ever notice in any type of visual media, if I don't like what I am seeing, I don't watch it or play it. Like I refuse to watch any cartoons with the Cal Arts animation art style because I really don't like it). *Hears Akaza's VA is in it* EEEEEEEE!!!! Even though I never played Olympia Soiree I did watch an LP and Akaza is best boy out of the Otome LPs I've seen. Give me a man like that any day (as long as he's close to my age lol).
Radiant Tale- The art in this does look amazing. I am still on the fence when it comes to the story so this would be one of those games I'll watch the common route to get a feel for it first.
Norn9: Last Era- Great, I've yet to play the original game . . . . . but hey if I end up enjoying the original game, this would be something I might get down the line. When it comes to the Otome genre, the original is at the top of my list, but it's like ranked #5 to other games I want to play in general and with my limited budget already it still might be awhile. We'll see what happens though.
But yeah great video and I'd love to see a video on games you want to see localized, heck games like Norn9, I was hoping to get localized because of the anime since I love my Reverse Harems.

I would absolutely love a fan disc for Olympia Soiree! Realistically I don't think they ever would make one because the story had a very solid ending in the game and I'm not too sure what extra they could add. Although, I think it would be so cute if they made a fan disc that followed Olympia and her children! I just love this game so much haha 😆
@@buttercupvenus That's what I was thinking for an Olympia Soiree FD- have kids in it! Omg trying to imagine involving moments with the Red and Yellow leaders, for obvious reasons lol. I bet there's fan art out there of Olympia's kids and their daddies lol. I think the most comical 'dad moments' would be with Riku. Him being clueless on calming down a baby.

Yes I live in Canada! VGP is one of my go to websites for otome games too. I almost bought Birushana from Idea Factory's website but the shipping was so expensive and the exchange rate nearly gave me a heart attack 😂 I would love it if they had the Norn9 Last Era LE on their website!
I'm so glad companies are releasing older titles now like the fan disc for Norn9. Hopefully, they'll continue to release more in the future!

as for the games, i'm most interested in Jack Jeanne and Norn9 Last Era personally. Charade Maniacs also looks good but frankly any attempts to boycott it will not work. Gamers don't boycott games. Plus the reveal looks like it was a huge fail by IFI's marketing department and dosen't affect the game itself. Plus hey, more Teita art is a good thing :)
