this exercise is very important in keeping the seas safe specially from a bully nation who knows nothing but to build and build islands, militarizing those islands and using those military resources to bully other smaller defenseless nations.

It likely is the oldest, though it was built in the mid 90s, so not all that old in the grand scheme of things. All of them are recently modernized. I'd hazard a guess that it has the lowest radar profile out of all of those though.

that's a modern multi-purpose ship, developed by Spain. It can be used as an aircraft carrier,

goes out without an escort of frigates and destroyers and with at least one sub to protect it.

Those ships are about 25 years old, so just past their mid-life and have been modernized recently. Its the superstructure that makes it look unimpressive. I'd hazard a guess that it has the lowest radar profile out of all of those ships though. New ships are being bid on this year and construction should start 2019-2020. Hopefully they choose to complete 14 and up our numbers by 2.

They do, and it's partly because they have an unbelievably bad procurement system. I mean their DD's are all retired now, and the Frigates are aging fast due to the increased workload. The replacements are bogged down in political nonsense and oceans of red tape. I imagine having the US as a neighbor and ally probably cuts down on the percieved need for naval spending, too-lol. To be fair, ours isn't much better- the Tico's are some of the 1980's best technology, and our mine warfare assets are down to like 3 old ships...

A recent study indicates in the event of war with either China and/or Russia, the U.S. and several allies will retain capability to defeat their opponents. NATO alone would cause havoc for Russia who would need to concentrate the major of their assets in the EU theater. China would be left on its own in the Pacific with several countries to deal with which it could not overcome. Hope peace prevails for all. However, be forever resolute and prepared.

But it was a page of our history between Japan and USA. Japan and USA are inseparable relation each now and forever.

Japan got its ass handed to it by the Soviets in two border skirmishes, resulting in a non-aggression pact that freed up many divisions from Siberia to go East and fight Hitler. Japan could not have done any better to capture or even hold any real part of the Russian Far East unless it committed the majority of its forces to the North and forgone the capture of British Malaya and the Dutch East Indies (where all the oil and rubber came from). Plus, the Soviets weren't the ones that were declaring all but War on Japan (It was the US).
