When I’m walking, I’ll often have a beat/rhythm come to me which I find really catchy … so I use voice recorder on my phone to capture that idea … same with ideas, tunes, or lyrics.
Same, I usually try to bring my portable recorder with me but the good ol cellular device works just the same 💪

I always feel like I hit a roadblock with producing. I can do synthy stuff okay but as soon as I add guitar, the instrument I really want to use, I just can't seem to get it. I have both an acoustic and electric, but I just can't play for shit. I don't know how to play on time, strumming with a consistent rhythm has always been really hard, so it makes it incredibly frustrating to try and make any cool tracks with guitar. Then on top of that, I never know what digital sounds to pair with the guitar if I am able to finally record a clip.
The advice I got from my music teacher in my last year of high school was, play over a metronome and that's still difficult. Maybe one day I'll get it.
I definitely would also recommend trying to play with a metronome, but at very slow speeds, maybe only 70 to 100bpm. You can always record the guitar chords individually as well instead of playing them sequentially.
You’ll get there bro, it takes a while to be comfortable with recording any instrument, just keep practicing and having fun with it and you’ll get better pretty quick 💪
If a metronome gets boring, program your own beats and play against that. I second the keeping the bpm down around 80-100, and record yourself playing so you can listen back.
Or find a nice simple song (or program one) with, say four chords (C, Am, F, G or Em G, A, D) and practice strumming with that.

@@EntertainmentKorner at first, go for the pentatonic, as those five notes won't clash with whatever chord you're playing. There are some great easy pentatonic videos on RUclips. There are also some that go deeper into music theory, which you may or may not appreciate.
