That story was wild! I would’ve been freaking out, too. And the bags?!?! Oh hell nah!!! 🤦🏾‍♂️
Stuff like this seems to happen a lot. Not the exact same situation, but I’ve dealt with similar issues when the military messed up my paperwork or didn’t properly process or submit things that should've been sent in.
This was great-thank y'all so much!
How much Spanish is commonly spoken in Portugal? I speak it, too. Also, what was the name of the website Laboss mentioned for finding hostel work in exchange for free room and board?

Yes the winter was brutal. But growing up in Massachusetts which was more cold and more snow it was not that bad for me. Studying abroad is an amazing opportunity for teens to get some outward perspective!

@@TheLabossShow Girl you know it. I'm up in Scotland currently but heading out soon. After living in MA, CT, VT this isn't nothing over here. We didn't even get snow the past few years. I've lived in other countries and will be moving on due to the rainy damp weather which creates havoc on my arthritis and tendonitis.

What a story! As a haitian American as well, I'm so happy to hear other Haitian Americans going outside the box of what was fed to us as the best place on earth to be. I appreciate the opportunity my parents gave me by coming to the US but the best thing that came out of it was being able to get a blue passport. Now the world is my oyster.

Fabulous, Friendly, Welcoming People; Gorgeous Architecture (as he said)….Great Food, Fresh and Organically Produced…..A Great Lifestyle. I’m Beyond Happy That He Got In. That He Was (Eventually, Magically) Given Entry After Being Denied By Other Officials (For No Apparent Reason) Is ALSO PORTUGAL!😄 Finally, I Say, God Works In Mysterious Ways….His Wonder To Perform!🙏🙏 Thank You Ric and Halisi. Get youself a notebook. Document dates, times and who you spoke with. Get copies of paper work in English and whatever country your going to. I learned this while traveling with my dog. There paper work can be more than ours. Also, check that dates are entred correctly. Ex: The US uses Feb 1, 2024 (2/1/2024) some countries put the date first then the month. 1, Feb 2024 (1/2/2024) I try and spell out the month whenever possible. This almost messed me up with the dogs vaccination paperwork. US, UK, or Canadian passport will bring you privelage as a travelor. Here in Europe what he said about Brazil is true. If they think you're from Brazil or Africa they wanna see those documents because of asylum seekers.

The truth is as an AMERICAN black person, especailly in Portugal specfically, you will have a privelege here that you would never imagine. The language barrier wont be an issue because english is mainly spoken especially in the capital. It is still good to learn the basics but I have friends that have been here 3+ years that still dont speak any portuguese and they are fine. It's not like other countries like Spain and France where you are frowned upon if you dont speak the language.
