You're honestly one of my favorite youtubers and just people in general. Maybe its the mullet, maybe its the old toyota trucks. I dunno, but youre doing something right. Also damnit man, guard!!!
Clinton ; Ford guy here to learn Toyota stuff. Love this channel. Here is a trick i use and it looks like you can also. When i drop my trans or transfer case, I put the engine crane through the passenger door and a strap through the hole in the floor down to the transfer case. Short strap it and jack it till the crane hits the head liner. Good luck. The struggle is real.
Great work on the truck. You may have to vent the area beside the fans because you are probably restricting the air flow thru the rad when you are at highway speed.
@@DirtGarage If it does run hot ,drill some 2” holes and cover then with some 1/4 rubber. When going down the highway the air going thru the rad will allow the rubber flaps to open and allow the air thru but when rock crawling the flaps will seal and let the fans pull air thru the rad.
@@DirtGarage yah you take the 40's off and put on smaller :) Enjoy the snow wheeling when the time comes (soon!!!!, if not already looking at the forecasts) PS - Best wishes to you Sam and the bambino
In a previous comment a couple years ago you said with the tundra hears the steering shaft cleared. What’s going on now with the steering shaft ? Wondering because I’m about to make A 1UZFE purchase or a 5.3 LS and debating now for my 94 pickup
These are still the Tundra headers. The engine is just now in a different spot than I had it before. It will clear, depends on how to package everything for your specific rig.
Maybe even just a 1" body lift would have be a good idea for the extra clearance above the transfer case. If you are using an adapter or not to mount the transfer case to the transmission you do use RTV, I know Toyota uses red FPG.
@@DirtGarage I ran a 3" body lift for a little bit to give me the most ground clearance under the transfer case. Ended up removing the lift when I did a 3.4 swap but still kept a 1" body lift for clearance across the board for the powertrain. It also gave me an added 1" of ground clearance over stock at the transfer case. Looks cleaner in the long run, but to each is there own I guess.
Working upside down / over head / on our backs The absolute worst experience!! Fighting not just the object, but getting double teamed by gravity and debris 🤓
@@elijahrogers5692 Both are essentially the same for swapping. Both require fancy adapter bellhousings and clutches. Both dont fit nicely 🤣 I prefer the sound of a 1UZ scream over a LS, and personally a fan of putting Toyota parts in a Toyota.
Absolutally do-able, but utterly pointless! This thing crawls so slow with the 2.28 and 4.7 engaged. And I rarely need to have both engaged. Primarily I use just the 4.7 haha. It would literally just be a flex

Thank you! Happy to hear this!
The old hammer clearance special, Toyota guy favorite! 😂

You have a positive spirit! How’s Dad and Mom life going, another great video thanks
Thanks! And parent life is great!

I was thinking about that, really just gonna have to take it on highway and see! If it needs to be modified I will make it happen!

If you can but doesn't look like you have the room, but definitely need a air gap between the fans and rad. Or you can go with a pusher fans
How us regular guys work on our rigs. Love it.
KILLIN IT BRO :)
Thanks!
Hell yeah.
Toyota needs to hire you to design their trucks.
I really appreciate your positive attitude and grit without ego too.🤘
Love the vids dude. Gets me motivated to finish my 93 2j 4x4. Wiring, exhaust and fuel system left to go.
Future project ?
Increasing the garage door top clearance
Nah, everything fits fine. If anything doesent clear I'm building them wrong.

I haven't seen a stock red interior on an older Toyota in years. I wonder if it was more available in Canada in red? Cool truck.

Did you make that song about building your truck? XD

@SOLDADITO76 whole point was to ditch the body lift.

Yes, you need a better plan
I mean, I still stuck with origonal plan.. The jack didnt work! Haha
hey man what model of mig welder you used to weld the gear box brace .......what size machine ?
YesWelder MP-200. Not totally sold on the machine, but hey it does the job!

Good morning Clinton 👋
So what’s your honest opinion? 1UZ-FE swap or LS swap. Wich would you say is easier ? Do you feel like the LS swap is gonna be reliable ? I’m torn

The next flex should be a triple t case set up. I’ve seen it done. Thousands of pounds of torque at idle.
