Naming your girl Tuesday is a good idea. Wednesday's name is from a poem: "Monday's child is fair of face, Tuesday's child is full of grace, Wednesday's child is full of woe, Thursday's child has far to go" The original Wednesday (in the cartoon) was more sad than evil.
"Did I miss something?" Yes. It was really Fester. He really was found in a tuna net with amnesia. When hurricane Irene zapped his head with lightning, he got his memory back. You really need to learn when to talk and when to listen to the dialog.
Very disappointing. Instead of watching the movie and reacting to it - he picks up on something random - how someone says something, repeating it, going off on a tangent about it, or how they look, if he's not talking about something else completely random that has nothing to do with the movie. He misses integral parts if he's not skipping over them completely and has no idea what he just watched by the end. He didn't watch in the first place.
38:24 I think you missed the joke. Wednesday asked, "Are they made from real Girl Scouts?" She means, is one of the ingredients actual girl scouts? 😂😂😂
He missed nearly *every* joke because he was constantly talking about every other mundane detail and going off on tangents. I've never seen anyone so completely miss the entire vibe of this film. 🥴
@@mourningwoodward I'm glad someone else said it. This is why I tend to avoid a lot of reaction channels, because they end up being more infuriating to watch than and I end up wishing I hadn't clicked on the video.
@tekashikuti9692 A year or two ago there was another reactor who spent the ENTIRE movie calling Christina Ricci/Wednesday a "fivehead," and then cut out the entire third act of the film from the reaction altogether. The fundamental lack of an attention span of people who aim to be "influencers" nowadays is equally as appalling as it is depressing, NGL. 🙃
One of my favorite movies! 🖤 The actor that plays Gomez passed away a few years after making these movies. RIP. Morticia is personally my favorite character. And my best friend named her daughter Wednesday.
Christina Ricci is not the first Wednesday, but she is the best Wednesday. The original 60s tv show had Thing very different. He would pop up out of boxes all over the house, leading you to believe there must be the rest of him somewhere in the bowels of the house.
The fan favorite can often boil down to the performer. Christina Ricci killed it in this movie. In the original TV series, the unexpected break-out was Ted Cassidy as Lurch. The first little girl who played Wednesday was talented, but even younger than Christina Ricci, and her character wasn't as sinister. One memorable episode featured tiny Wednesday teaching Lurch how to dance. The whole family was developed for the TV series based on single panel gag cartoons drawn by Charles Addams for the New Yorker. They were random ghouls and creeps, given names and backstories for the series. The emphasis was on creepy gags. The passenger in the toy train is actually a good example of the type of gag you'd see in the original cartoons. There would be no explanation; it would just be a twilight zone moment.
Addams Family Values us next. It has a somewhat Thanksgiving theme. I used to watch The Addams Family on tv as a kid back in the 60's. Raul Julia (Gomez) passed away not long after the 2nd movie unfortunately. They explained that the nasty "mother" did actually find Fester tangled in a tuna net with amnesia. She convinced him that his name was Gordon and her son. When they started their con she didn't know that the Addams' were his real family all along.
Angelica Houston passed away as well, maybe around 2000 but everybody else I dunno. If he wants to see "Wednesday" all grown up, he should watch 'Black Snake Moan' with Samuel L . Jackson that will put some hair on his chest.
Sadly, Raul Julia who plays Gomez Addams passed away in 1994, a year after the sequal Addams Family Values came out. He plays the BEST Gomez in the franchise.
Suggesting that Morticia is hitting on and trying to seduce one of her RELATIVES is a really bizarre take that I've never seen before. I'm so confused on where you came up with that......
Ummmm.....Have you tried pausing when you have something to say😅..... Cause you missed many of the jokes and so much of the dialogue. You were asking so many questions that were actually answered in the movie 😂
the mother was in The Witches 1990 if you heard of it or watched it. Love that movie. She was also in Daddy Day Care with Eddie Murphy, all of the tinkerbell movies, Material Girls and horrid henry the movie. They are all the movies I have watched with her in it.
Omg love the Harry Potter mug i'm a ravenclaw. This movie is the absolute best I love it and love your reaction. Mortica and Gomez Is what I inspire to be
So, it is theorized that no matter how grievous the injury is within the Addams family, they won’t die because they truly do love and care for each other. At least that’s how I interpreted what someone has said.
The very first addams family was in comic form. The original film adaptation was a black and white show in 1965. The version you're reacting to is probably the most popular.
The thing about the song from the party…that’s not in the original release, it’s just the dance parts so a lot of people don’t know the full song exists
Pugsley is my favorite because hes soooo fuckin underrated. He is the chubby dumb looking type but hes never actually shown dumbness, hes like on par with Wednesday just quiet
I enjoyed every Addams show and movie from way back to the 50 or 60s, But this one is my favorite because it came out when I was young. Mama Addams was in the original, and Christina Ricci is actually in Wednesday if you haven't noticed yet. This Wednesday was still a little girl. Raul Julius passed away unfortunately
The original Addam's family is a black & white series originally in the 60's. This movie is one of the best adaptations & is hilarious. Angelica Houston is brilliant as Morticia. The old lady is Gramdmama, and surprise, my favorite character is It. 😂 You got to see the 2nd one! Morticia & Gomez' love is relationship goals! The family loves each other unconditionally & unequivocally, encourage each other, & want them to be happy & succeed.
"Did I miss something?" Umm yeah, most of the dialog of the movie because you talked over almost all of it. Most of the questions you had were answered in the movie you just missed it and talked over all the best jokes. I've never seen anyone so confused over the plot of this movie before....quick little comments are fine but if you are going to talk that much and that long just pause the movie lol.
Hey there! I just finished watching *The Addams Family* for the first time, and wow, what a wild ride! I had heard so much about it, but nothing could prepare me for the unique blend of quirky humor, dark charm, and that iconic gothic aesthetic. I absolutely loved how the Addams family embraces their oddities and stands out from conventional norms. It really highlights the importance of being true to oneself, no matter how unconventional that might be. The characters are just unforgettable! Gomez and Morticia are such a power couple-so romantic and playful, yet wonderfully macabre. Wednesday is, of course, the epitome of deadpan humor, and I was amazed by how young Christina Ricci captured that persona perfectly. Uncle Fester brought so much laughter with his goofy antics, and I can't believe how much I ended up caring for him. The set design and costumes were stunning; every scene seemed to ooze that classic spooky vibe that makes the Addams Family so iconic. I also appreciated the balance of comedy and heart, especially when it came to family loyalty and love. It's a testament to how a movie can be both entertaining and meaningful at the same time. I can totally see why this film has become a cult classic over the years. I can't wait to dive into the sequels and any other adaptations there might be out there! Thanks for sharing this reaction experience with us. I'm excited to hear what others thought as well! What was your favorite moment? Let’s discuss!
The original is in black and white and Morticia is SO fine in the original you won’t believe it. This modern day version does none of the characters justice. Please watch any of the original TV episodes. They are iconic and die hard fans, especially of your Wednesday followers, will love and respect it.
The Wednesday series on Netflix is the continuation of her story. These movies are the beginning/details of her childhood. She is middle school age here, and high school age in the series. You definitely have to watch part 2!
The school children crying, I heard (not 100% certain memory wise) they told them after the book was read, that they were going to be getting shots. 😂 Poor babies.
i love the family dynamics in this so much, it's my favourite thing about this movie. they might not follow societal rules but no matter what they clearly love each other more than anything. that's why i was so disappointed by the new show, they took out all the love out of the family my fav character is morticia but i think all the characters play off of each other perfectly which is the true charm to them imo

If you ever want to really go down The Addams Family rabbit hole, a nice start would be a couple of episodes of the 1964 TV series. It's just as great as the 1991 & 1993 films.
