How to use film halation effect in photoshop

Welcome to INU Photography & Cinematography
In this video, I’ll show you, how to create film halation effect using very powerful software in Adobe Photoshop 2025.
1st method
duplicate image-convert to smart object
go to the image-adjusment-threshold and change value
change blend mode to screen
go to the filter-blur-gaursian blur
create new solid color layer-blend mode soft light and clip mask to underline layer
2nd method
Menu Select - Color Range - Highlights
Menu Layer - New - Layer Via Copy
Menu Filter - Other - Minimum
Choose an amount that increases the light object by 30-40%
Menu Filter - Blur - Gaussian Blur
Choose amount based on smoothing
Change the Layer blending mode to Screen or Soft Light
Optional: duplicate this layer and change the opacity to increase the effect
