If you look up Edible Landscaping videos on persimmons, he talks about princess persimmon and he says he eats it in February, when they are all shriveled up and dry and taste like raisins or dates. So it is edible, you just need to know when.

That bonsai is the cutest! Wish it tasted better. I have 2 Fuyu persimmons that I have to fight the birds over but they are so good and sweet! I would like to get a few more trees

great information< thanks for the video, I have 3 princess persimmon trees that I propagated with root cuttings, My goal is to have them as bonsai so I really haven't seen any fruit on any of them, may be a need a male tree for pollination, I just style all tree and the goal for this year is to let them grow to start branch development maybe they will fruit this year ( I hope ) is there a way to distinguish a male plant from a female plant?

You don’t need a male for female to produce fruit however they won’t have seeds. But maybe be cross pollinated with native persimmon as well.

I think you have Jiro persimmon instead of Fuju persimmon.
