NewsChannel 5's Nick Beres speaks exclusively with Sebastian Rogers' father

- For the first time since his son disappeared two weeks ago, Sebastian Rogers' father is giving NewsChannel 5 an exclusive on-camera interview.
If he is found safely the dad should have full custody. I’m hoping there will be answers soon.
He did an interview with pascal and said his son was going to start living with him in the summer.
I hope this new custody order didn’t prompt his disappearance. There had been cases of parents kidnapping their kids even worse taking their lives because they don’t want to abide by court orders to allow the other party to have parental visitations or any custody. It’s heartbreaking when the extremes happen. Children don’t deserve to take the brunt of coparenting issues.
That’s the thing he most likely won’t be.

Night and day difference between the actual father's reaction and that of the mom + step dad. He expresses real emotion/concern.
The step dad's reaction is normal although I think he is not telling the truth, you can't expect a step dad to be out there crying, most don't care about their step children

You’re wild- this dude had no emotion. The step dad & mom weren’t wrecked. Super honest interview. No tears because just like the mccans- the mom is exhausted- emotionally spent- probably cried for days and days and has nothing left. Kid 100% ran off and is scared of getting in trouble now after the huge amount of publicity.

I find the case odd when the idea is that he walked off with no shoes on after 12am, and the door was locked. I mean if you suspect foul play in the house then they have not changed the story to.. the door was open, and his shoes were missing. I mean I would make a better scenario to hide that I did something.

There are no picture of Sebastian on his stepdad’s Facebook page until he went missing. That says a lot about how much he cared about Sebastian.

The law has literally said they have been fully vetted and all have been cleared. Accusing people of something that bad with ZERO evidence is extremely cruel. Those people are going through the worst time of their lives and people like you are not having an empathy or compassion. Instead you are making it worse for parents who are devastated. SHAME ON YOU! I sure hope and pray you never have a loved one missing and go through this kind of defamation and cruelty. I know first hand what it feels like. However, not all moms feel that way about their kids. Idk of any autistic child that leaves in the middle of the night with no shoes and locks the door behind them. I also don't know why the dogs wouldnt have picked up his scent, other than the fact that he didn't walk out of that house. I also have a special kiddo myself, and know all too well how overwhelming this life gets for some. So over whelming that some end their own lives or that of their child. This mother wouldn't be the first and nothing about her story aligns

I'm sorry. I'm not at all buying the mom's story anymore. I'm sure investigators have already long since done this to verify his last verifiable sighting, like from school that day or before, or local cameras, traffic cameras and so on, this aint their first rodeo.
But the first thing she said in public was she doesn't know why he'd walk out that door, even though she'd already said he went to bed about 930 and she went to bed at midnight or whenever. If she was in bed, she wouldn't have any idea how he left. He could've gone out a window, or a different door, or a garage door or a basement door if there was one. It reeked that she was trying to feed a narrative to push the idea he left on his own.
The chat with step for a couple hours also doesn't hold up. If she's awake she should've heard the door or window or garage or dogs or alarm or floor creaking or stairs creaking and so on.
Then the idea she said a flashlight was missing and that's part of feeding the narrative to suggest he went outside barefoot with a flashlight and vanished.
If he's otherwise a well behaved kid who isn't likely to run away and is usually one who minds well, and doesn't go out without shoes and does what he's told and has autism so needs medication, order and doesn't do well in chaotic situations, etc. then there is no real scenario left because he is not a high risk kid.
IMO the entire part of the story that he obediently went to bed at 930 and was gone in the morning, a flashlight is missing but none of his shoes, is pure fiction.
The fact the mom and step went on some pseudosleuth's crime podcast is problematic. Local interviews make total sense. But the internet isn't solving this case and neither is some pseudosleuth podcaster.
I truly hope he is alive. The bio dad has him hiding out and he doesn't know he's missing at all...and it's a custody thing but he's fine. The mom and step needed to hide him out from the bio dad...same story. Something and he is okay.
But mom's story, at least as provided by the media, isn't adding up.
I'm with you on this also.. his dad said he didn't like to be barefooted. Had to have socks and shoes on dislike his feet to get dirty .he wouldn't leave the house without his shoes .

Biological dad is awesome and has love for his boy. It sounds like Sebastian never left the area around his home. Was possibly driven off the property. Not feasible no one has seen this precious child.
Search dogs, law enforcement, volunteers, people on horseback - no sightings. It’s a cliché but I get strong feelings about the step-father. Mom mentioning her son isn’t in trouble also gives me signs. Discipline must be a big deal in Sebastian’s home with step-father and mother.
Stepfather did state that he’s a strict disciplinarian.

Why does Nick say he disappeared late Sunday March 3rd??? It’s been posted everywhere that he went missing on Sunday February 26th! If he went missing on the 3rd then the reporter should have said he’s been missing one week not two. This is confusing.
The stepfather has a 'history' of dv etc. I will say it does not look promising when you have someone like this in the boys life. Also, someone that has been 'sleuthing' says the stepfather was posting sports info on FB this past weekend.

I am autistic and at 15, I left my house in the middle of the night frequently. My parents had an alarm system installed to warn them if I left.
Unless there is evidence pointing to foul play, be careful. Maybe someone at home was or wasn't involved but from my experience it may also be another answer.

There are Autistic kids who do what Sebastian did and are never seen again. I feel like everyone is telling the truth. We react differently than what is expected by neurotypicals.

The way he said "hes mine" gave me chills like nothing in the interview with mom and stepdad. People can grieve even when theyve been involved. Imo the answers are close to home. My heart breaks for Seth....

@@ctl6233 do you mean the part about grieving even when they're involved? You can have an accidental death or a murder and the perpetrator if they're a parent can still grieve the loss of their child. You can see real grief even when someone has been the reason another is no longer alive
As the mom of an autistic child who once was an absconder, now that he's older, i can't imagine him going out _at night_ especially. God, i hope I'm wrong, but too many child abuse stories start this way and end so very, very badly.

That what I was thinking. Nick Beres has a new 10-12 minute, very dark and grainy security video, that shows 2 "lights". I believe he's supposed to have it on News channel 5 tomorrow. Pascal, who is on RUclips was doing a live about it and showed the video. It could be too flashlights but it's really hard to tell. Anyhow more to come tomorrow I suppose.

I find it odd that with all the Ring cameraa out there now days in the neighborhoods he wasn't sighted on any. Nor did the sniffer dogs pick up his scent around the area of the neighborhood. That's just sits kind of off in my opinion. Makes me wonder of the mother or stepfather took him off somewhere. Pretty sure the authorities have thought about that also & are on the game though.
I'm just curious. What does his hat mean? The 27th amendment happened in 1789, but it is in relation to Congress salary. It looks like a Punisher logo, but is different. I just watched the interview with the mom again. The mother says she went to go wake him up and he was gone. Another time she said while trying to think why he might have left, she said he was happy that morning. Laughing and joking. Has anyone noticed this?
Yes. Mom also said he wasn’t in any trouble, which tells me he was in trouble. Mom and step-father seem detached from the boy while the biological father appears very willing to talk about his son.
Sebastian was set to move with Seth the real dad at the end of the summer, so that might be the motive from the mom. But the "you're not in trouble part" means nothing, plenty of innocent parents have said that phrase before. in the interview when she said that, she was talking about the previous day they had spent together before he went missing. They were discussing whether anything the previous day could have upset him or caused any tension between the family that would have prompted him to leave or runaway and she said no, they had had a great day and that he was in good spirits.

Nick Beres-in the video it was stated that Sabastian went missing March 3rd or the following Monday. Was it meant to be stated as February 25th-26th or has there been information gathered by law enforcement that has them confirming March 3rd was his last seen date.

@@edrrobb1988 No, LE is still putting the pieces together. The mother and step-father are not vetted; if LE said they are, it is to make the mother and sf feel more at ease. I am sorry for your experience. In Sebastian’s case, however, I still believe the step-father and possibly the mother are involved. The K-9/sniffer dogs did not find Sebastian’s scent outside of the house or perimeter. The boy hated going barefoot. He was previously stung by red ants and never went without his socks and shoes outside. Autistics are peculiar about what they will and will not accept.

I dont want to cause any offence or state people are guilty, but the bio dad has sincere emotion in my opinion, i also think something is slightly off with the step-dad, but again, its just based on my opinion and what ive watched. I know we all act differently under pressure and stress, but yeah, not getting a hopeful vibe from this case sadly. Time is getting on, weather, food, terrain, health issues, no sightings, dog lost scent at a specific location, i hope im wrong and this child does come home

Stay strong, whatever happens just be proud that you are doing your best to find your son and even if the outcome is bad, you will feel and heal better knowing you've done everything possible to find him and have no regrets💙 The mom or step dad sadly is definitely in on it in some way, who goes on camera so calm with no emotion and then do a 2nd interview and hide their face so the behavior panel can't disect their behavior, just very strange... if my son was missing I would not care what people thought.
