- This is a revised version of the feature video presented during the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Nashville District May 2010 Flood Remembrance Ceremony held at the Estes Kefauver Federal Building May 3, 2011. It now includes the opening statement given by Lt. Col. Anthony Mitchell, commander of the Nashville District, during the ceremony. (USACE video by Richard Scott)

I remember this day like it was yesterday I was 7 years old
I was at opryland hotel for prom when it flooded
i grew up in Bellevue and i remember seeing the soccer field and highway 70S under I-40, wild.
I asot died in this flood because I was camping along the river by downtown Nashville in the old tent city .. national guard saved us I believe...
From what I heard they didn't have to open the dam doors all the way and it wood have save the lives from the old mills creek flooding.

The dam at old hickory dam should have been done better.
