What a decade for music! This took me down a memory rollecoaster. I was 8 to 17 in the 00s. I used to love flicking through music video tv channels when I was younger. I can literally pin point when I really got into the music.. 2003!
Wow you're both born in the same year as me. For me listening to music at home or in the car was the most outgoing my childhood was so these songs are key influence to even my present life.
I was a child in the early 00s and I genuinely thought Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Anastacia and Kelly Family just HAD to be the biggest acts in the world, with how insanely popular they were and how many hits they had all the time. Only to later find out that they are esentially unknown in the US (I guess Kylie was popular there at one point, but not nearly as much as she was here)
Quite frequently, US has bad taste in things. I'm European but live in US all my life. I keep up with much of what's popular music in Europe because often it's better than what's popular here. The ones you mentioned are good examples. There are countless more. For example British rock is often better than US rock. White Lies ("Death") is a good example. Elbow ("Forget Myself") is a great band, never would hear them in the US. The group Dune from the 90s ("Are You Ready To Fly", "Nothing Compares To You (Beam and Yanou mix)", "Space Invaders", "I Can't Stop Raving") had some really great techno/trance/dance music and it basically was unknown here. U.N.K.L.E. is hard to even put a finger on exactly what kind of electronic/moody music they are, but they have countless amazing songs ("Follow Me Down", "Black Out (Dune)", "Heaven", "Turnstile Blues", "The Dog Is Black"). Just fantastic stuff. How these kinds of groups don't make it famous over here just kind of shows the taste of things here. Yes there's a lot of good music here, but it doesn't help that for example half the country loves country music. Which is basically the exact polar opposite of a lot of the stuff I mentioned above! So no wonder they wouldn't be into any of my European preferences ;p
OMG thank you❤I love those type of videos so much ! It brings so many memories since I grow up in the 2000s ! I was not expecting to see one of my favorite French song ever followed by my favorite Spanish song ever😍
What a decade of amazing songs! We really had it good in the 90's and 00's with all that wonderfull music, had to be alive during that time to experience it.

Thanks you for another brilliant nostalgia video! As expected, I saw lots of Britney, Madonna, Robbie Williams, Rihanna, Gwen Stefani songs. Still expected to see some more Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Clarkson. They were huge too. Are you going to make 3rd Most Popular Song in Europe? That would be super intriguing cause no one did it before
@@somerandomguy_music I understand that you don't want to do more of top Euro songs each month vids but also kind of sad because everyone is curious what was the 3rd best song each month on the European podium. That would be really cool to have the podium complete, but hey do what you want. Also big props to you putting songs like Chihuahua and Schnappi dad kleine Krokodil as these songs I remember as a little preschooler ;)
@@grzegorzjanowski8353 I get your point but it don't want to overdo the 'most popular song each month' theme. In addition there are months where it is quite difficult to find a song because all the hit songs were already used in the most popular or 2nd most popular video.
Please do a Top 100 song's that defined the 80's UK Version Many to choose and many genre's, especially Rock, with Iron Maiden, Duran Duran, Def Leppard, soo many
Wow, that was quick. I only just watched the 90s one 🙂 Yeah, you can see how things are going downhill here towards the 2010s, especially in the second half. There were a few times I wondered where such and such a song was - like "Umbrella" - and then remembered it was the 2nd most popular. I guess I need to watch the first one again. Looking forward to the earlier decades.
Although the United States is close to Latin America, European music has more acceptance in Latin America, mainly because in the 2000s hip hop dominated in the United States. And hip hop is usually not very popular in Latin America.
