  • I don’t understand why some people hate Cody as Dimtry.
He actually did an amazing run. Congratulations Cody!

The one piece of criticism I have for him is that his hands move too much BAHAHAHAHAHAH no but seriously, Cody is so talented! I love how he stepped into a role that was a bit out of his comfort zone and absolutely killed it. Plus, I love this key for his voice! 11/10 performance :D

He's got what I call "Italian hands". I have those too, I flail my arms around a lot, lol. It's so fucking annoying because I keep hitting things or other people or even myself lol.

Cody did a fantastic job for not being a theatre trained actor and singer. Hope to see him on the stage again!

im honestly fine with the lower key, it doesnt sound bad (infact thats an understatement he sounds fantastic) and it means that he doesnt have to strain to reach an A4

Not bad, not bad at all! Baritone Dmitry isn't a bad choice, actually. Good job to Cody Simpson! Hopefully he does some more stuff like this. I'm curious to see how he'd do after being in a musical theater environment after a few years.

They can stretch up to the original key with years of training, but why have him sound subpar at the tenor key when he can sound great in a lower baritone key?

@@Bradellen1129That note is stupid and serves no point musically. Hitting hi notes don’t make a character better. Get off your high horse.

The voice is very nice, even though it's not the original key. But he needs to enhance his acting abbilities, he doesnt seem focused

This just isn’t it, broadway is a place for people who work hard all their life to make it, not given to someone and change the key to make it suit them. It’s not terrible but this is no where near broadway standard and a shame that such a beautiful musical had to end like this

    • @elise4287

broadway is definitely not for people who work all their lives to get somewhere and aren’t just given it. there’s so much nepotism and classism in theatre, especially broadway. let’s not lie lol

Hey that isn’t very nice, he’s trying his best and u shouldn’t campare him to Derek who has been training his voice & acting his whole life for broadway. I’m a huge fan of Derek but this isn’t very fair to Cody

Nope nope nope... he definitely has a wonderful singing voice but it just wasn't right for this style and level of singing!! He is not at Broadway level yet!! Not saying he can't get there, but he 100% is not fit/right for this role.. this is disappointing!
