i was there! the applause/standing o went on for like five more minutes after she finished, and people were cheering her name. my sister and i were sobbing, it was fantastic. she also spent (i think) about 5 hours at the stage door that night to talk to *everyone*. christy altomare is truly incredible
I was so blessed to see this show before it closed with Christy as Anya. I really wish it was still open, it was honestly one of the most beautiful shows I have ever had the honor to see.
Bless her heart.. She was like i will give it all i have.. and the whole AAAAAAAYNNNNHNNHYyyyyyuya.. lol i think that was a way of keeping her smiling..
She is a star 🌟 those were real tears i know it. She carried those notes. She had every feeling i absolutely loved it and she deserved that standing ovation.
Ha! Even when it wasnt her last performance, people went berserk in the audience. Not that it's a bad thing, but I personally don't pay to hear others clapping and drowning out the performer before the song is done.
OMG I'm crying a lot. She is such an actress, she is really feeling the role and that is so immersive and amazing! It is impossible not to feel this song with such a performance. Thanks, this is one of the best videos I've ever saw (BTW, sorry 'bout my English, I am Brazilian and I am daily learning the language, love you guys)
Put off watching this cause I knew I'd cry. I was devastated that it closed, but it also brings me joy seeing. Christy is always to glass half ful and grateful. You can see it in her eyes that she's choosing to relish this rather than be sad it's over
I loved this show. Christy was absolute perfection. I was one of the lucky ones who got to see it pre-Broadway on Hartford Stage. The entire cast was electric and SO unbelievably kind. I'm so glad Christy got to run the show the whole way through, though it definitely deserves to still be on Broadway.
Whoever had these in their archives sure did take a long time to share. Thank you nonetheless I have been dying to see the final journey to the past since i heard the audio.
That us nice to hear ..sometimes when people that are public figures are really sweet you dont know if it's just an act to enhance their public image but numerous people have said she is genuinely a very nice person
Crying along with her!!! What a beautiful performance that was!!! Beautiful and talented 👏👏👏 Standing ovation a million percent deserved!!! 👏👏👏 Best version of this gorgeous song I have ever heard!!!
I stumbled upon this video and I'm so glad I did. What a beautiful performance, you had me sucked right in from the moment you started singing!! The audience's reaction is well deserved
Heart, don't fail me now Courage, don't desert me Don't turn back now that we're here People always say Life is full of choices No one ever mentions fear Or how the world can seem so vast On a journey to the past Somewhere down this road I know someone's waiting Years of dreams just can't be wrong Arms will open wide I'll be safe and wanted Finally home where I belong Well, starting now I'm learning fast On this journey to the past Home, love, family There was once a time I must have had them too Home, love, family I will never be complete Until I find you One step at a time One hope then another Who knows where this road may go Back to who I was On to find my future Things my heart still needs to know Yes, let this be a sign Let this road be mine Let it lead me to my past And bring me home At last
Agree..can we just stay in control like audiences going to the opera and other musicals and let the performance stay intact so as to give integrity to the entire final performance
Totally, 1/01/2024 beginning this new year one step at the time, one hope then another who knows where this road may go, back to who I was on to find my future, things my heart still needs to know, let this be a sign let this road be mine lead it lead my to my Future and bring me Home at last!!

So incredible!
She SANG that song. And believee every word of it.
She truly did believe every word of it. Beautiful.
She had tears in her eyes the entire performance. omg
Christy Altomare said that the song Journey To The Past never gets old and it tears her up. Maybe it’s because her heart exploded
so did i omg
I teared up when I saw her tears
Maybe because this is the end of her stint as Anastacia. Last performances for leads are usually emotional.
You can just see how passionate she is playing Anya. 😍
I'm crying!!! You can just feel how much this role meant to her and how passionate she is about it!
I understand it was the last performance and people were excited, but I wish I could hear her finish that last note. :/
Yes omg
that´s the end of act 1
That night was for Christy, not you
@@slimshady0209so true bro😂
the way she holds out ‘home’ longer than she should’ve really makes me tear up EVERY. TIME. soaking in every little moment

@@martaramirez6891totally! He did that to cheer her up
I've never cried from a non-sad song but this brought me completely to tears. I love her so much 😭😭
You can tell how grateful she was to have this role. She was absolutely perfect in it too ❤❤❤
2:14 is the moment ive pinpointed when she starts o get truly emotional
I want theatre back ;(
ikr :((
She is a star 🌟 those were real tears i know it. She carried those notes. She had every feeling i absolutely loved it and she deserved that standing ovation.
But you don't clap and make a sound until the last note it done.
that rule goes out the window during final performances
Ha! Even when it wasnt her last performance, people went berserk in the audience. Not that it's a bad thing, but I personally don't pay to hear others clapping and drowning out the performer before the song is done.
That only happens when you don't move the audience to pieces like she did and does.
@@grayk7455ikr. It drowns out the beautiful singing!
@@amberangel112 that rule goes out the window during THIS final performance!!! lol
I had the fortune of being at that performance. I cried then and I cried watching this video. Thanks for sharing!!

Awww! That's okay! 💕
Dude, don’t sweat it: Your English is better than most Americans.

This is such a beautiful communion of performer and audience. So happy it's here.
I’m so disappointed that I never got to see this I loved the movie and I just wish I could’ve seen the musical
She’s so good!! I’m preforming this and I want to be just like her when I’m older!!
I got to work with her a little this weekend, and not only is she amazing on stage, she is seriously the nicest, sweetest person I have ever met.

Christy altomare is an amazing singer
Her face at the end, second to last note, she knows she just MURDERED IT and is like “that’s right m****fuckers sit down for supper cuz I’m serving“
genuinely one of the best performances and musicals i've ever seen on broadway. splendid job.
You can tell she’s been crying but she still slays the entire song
I stumbled upon this video and I'm so glad I did. What a beautiful performance, you had me sucked right in from the moment you started singing!! The audience's reaction is well deserved
excuse me why was that so convincing omfg it was like she was actually the person in the story
I'm crying!!! love your performance Christy, just WOW! Been a fan of this masterpiece since it's release!
Beautiful . I love this performed as part of the show she is so emotive and you can see why she got this part
My heart stayed warm
mine too
I’ve watched this so many times since it closed. Never fails to make me cry 🥺💜
Not to be dramatic or anything but if I was there I would have died! Amazing
The new 2021 Anastasia is so sweet and talanted too, but Christy is a true legend playing Anya. An incomparable actress, indeed.
GIIIRLLLLLL!!!!! chills, shivers, and GOOSEBUMPS!!! I felt every word *standing ovation*
2:49 is where i started getting emotional holy smokes she’s good
I love it . It is amazing that she sings perfectly and cry at the same time, and still sounds amazing
This role was made 4 her...period!
She’s a star. A STAR.

I can’t get enough of this video!! ❤
okay but who gave her the right to make me cry?
She was DEALING
So beautiful!! 😭🤧❤
CHILLS! CHILLS ALL OVER!!!!
I will never not cry when I watch this video
Heart, don't fail me now
Courage, don't desert me
Don't turn back now that we're here
People always say
Life is full of choices
No one ever mentions fear
Or how the world can seem so vast
On a journey to the past
Somewhere down this road
I know someone's waiting
Years of dreams just can't be wrong
Arms will open wide
I'll be safe and wanted
Finally home where I belong
Well, starting now I'm learning fast
On this journey to the past
Home, love, family
There was once a time
I must have had them too
Home, love, family
I will never be complete
Until I find you
One step at a time
One hope then another
Who knows where this road may go
Back to who I was
On to find my future
Things my heart still needs to know
Yes, let this be a sign
Let this road be mine
Let it lead me to my past
And bring me home
At last
I cried hehe ;)
Yay christy
OH. MY. GOD.
so good. I cried. so so good
Crying!!!
This song will never not make me sob
SHE SANG.
“And bring me hoooome at-“ 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thank you Disney thankful USA all beautifully in the world lives
Absolutely amazing!
Nice job Christy you are doing good at playing Anya in Anastasia
Goosebumps!!!
amazing!!
Amazing!!!
wow just wow!!
I'm Shooketh.
can the audience shush? tryna listen to that last note man!!!
If only people would wait until the end note finishes to start screaming! It's an insult to her incredible effort to hold that final note.
Agree..can we just stay in control like audiences going to the opera and other musicals and let the performance stay intact so as to give integrity to the entire final performance

What is Christy doing now that Covid is (cautiously) better? Does anyone know?
Why was it her last performance?
This was closing night of the Broadway show. The final performance for her and the cast and crew.
Is that thing on her head a mic?
Yep!
What's the musical about? This song is amazing.
I would think it would be the same as the movie: A young orphan girl heads to Paris to find her family that she got separated from.
@@sockmonkey448 oh cool
It’s very similar to the movie in plot and has a lot of songs from it, but is also adds more of a story of Russian revolution
@@drac00la I’ve never seen the movie 😅
Broadway performance?
Yes
Do you trade?
