TX has a lot of urban cowboys, real country folks don’t like them. OK has some urban cowboys too but a lot less, cause it’s a lot less urban. Plus TX likes to call OK their hat, no one wants to be called a hat. I’ve lived in both, childhood in TX, adolescence & adulthood in OK, the hate definitely goes both ways. As a Texan, Braums ice cream is the one thing Oklahomans and Texans can agree upon (except some Texans prefer Blue Bell… I just pick up two bowls). We’ve got some in North Texas, but locations won’t go more than a day’s drive from the main creamery so the dairy stays fresh, meaning they don’t have locations in South Texas. Honestly, when I went to college in South Texas, I sometimes missed Braums more than I missed my parents.

Y'know what? You are r/ConfidentlyIncorrect, but there may be a Court Ruling out there that you're using as evidence. There's that one about tomatoes, after all.
Vegetables refer to Vegetation. Vegetative Propagation refers to the growth of new plants without using seeds. Vegetables are those edible parts of a plant that aren't its fruit. Fruit being the protective tissues surrounding the ovary.
Omg... drawing on years old Plant Anatomy & Physiology course content I've not truly needed to worry about in slightly less time...
Just for funsies, look up "Nutmeg" and "Mace." It's a real hoot! Nothing to do with the fruit-veggie divide, just a weird morphogenesis.

Tbf, if you go by the more scientific definition of a vegetable, which would include all or part of any herbaceous plant that is edible, watermelon is a vegetable. But vegetable is a culinary term. So people will just choose stuff that mostly fits the definition I gave, and when something doesn't feel correct, they'll just say it's not a vegetable.
