The A.S.M.R. Test at Miskatonic University ( A "Rift World" Origin Story )

- During your stay in the old town of Arkham, Massachusetts, you find an advertisement in the local Arkham Advertiser newspaper regarding a test being performed (with a modest payment for volunteering, of course) at nearby historic Miskatonic University.
The test is being held by a young man who goes by the name of William Clemmons, a graduate student mastering in Psychology with an interest in other fields such as geology and the occult. Seeing as you are new to the town of Arkham, Mr. Clemmons shares some brief information regarding a few notable points of interest, such as a recent meteor crash, an old witch house, the beautiful Miskatonic river and the far northern fishing town of Innsmouth.
Mr. Clemmons also expresses his frustrations and empathy for the patients of Arkham Sanitarium where the nature of this test was discovered: a pleasant tingling sensation reportedly felt by many of the patients when receiving care from the sanitarium's medical staff. He then explains how that facility is in a current state of decay and neglect, perhaps at the oversight of the current director. Mr. Clemmons states how he wishes he had the financial means to operate the facility himself in order to revitalize it and bring it into the modern day era, so that it could provide far better care for its patients.
The test itself was arranged by Mr. Clemmons, who was also charged with the task as part of his graduate courses, and consists of a very simple health questionnaire, a basic health checkup, and is then followed by various stimuli such as calm hand movements, page turning, and the crinkling sound of plastic, in order to determine if the general population, such as yourself, experience this phenomena.
William is married to his expecting wife Margaret, who is also in medical school to become a nurse and who has a passion for theatre and the arts. Upon their graduation and before the birth of their child, they both plan to take part in an expedition, along with some of the other Miskatonic faculty, to either the deserts of Australia or the mountains of the Himalayas, in search of ancient ruins and artifacts.
Mr. Clemmons also makes reference to the medical conditions of various patients at the sanitarium, stating how some of them are suffering from extreme paranoid delusions such as believing tin foil will protect them from nefarious entities that are out to harm them. He also makes mention of a local repairman, and towards the end of the session talks about his brother, who is in the pharmaceutical field, and who was involved in a serious accident of some kind that left his face disfigured.
Of course, with all that being said, I must implore to you, dear reader, that this could all very well be just one possible history in a series of alternate timelines, or perhaps worse than I fear: a strange dream from which you cannot awake.

What is ASMR? It is both a sensation and a medium.
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is the current, non-scientific name given to the feeling characterized as a pleasurable tingling sensation felt in the head, scalp, back and other regions of the body in response to visual, auditory, tactile, olfactory, and/or cognitive stimuli, such as crinkling bags, hand movements, whispering, personal attention or watching someone perform a task. It's like goosebumps, but much more pleasant.
ASMR videos are meant to intentionally help induce this sensation, also referred to as "tingles", but also provide a relaxing, calming, soothing, therapeutic and even entertaining experience for the viewer.
Many people who do not experience ASMR still enjoy the videos for their calming and sleepy effect.

The rift world isn't bound by normal laws of time and space, and it doesn't seem to be a clear, linear narrative.
Writing a timeline for this relaxing fellow's universe seems a bit like writing a timeline for SCP. Pointless, and nearly impossible.

If people are wondering, I believe that charlie (Carl) is actually Clemmons's son. If you watch previous episodes; Charlie (Carl) mentions that his father works at a SCP facility and he even has a Mug with the logo on, which presumably Professor Clemmons gave him. This also links with Professor clemmons's desk name plate which has the SCP logo on it, and I believe that he mentioned that he was part of a SCP Facility. This explains why Charlie (Carl) is so closely monitored by Clemmons, which may relate to him being socially awkward. This might also explain why everybody is looking for him when he went missing, They were forced by Clemmons. He might also be so important to Clemmons because he might have been imbued with powers from some of the ancient ruins or artifact when Clemmons and Margret when she was pregnant visited either the deserts of Australia or the mountains of the Himalayas. And this is why he makes everybody try to find him.

He went in the Himalayas with his colleagues, professor Frank Pabodie and professor William Dyer, whom he killed during this expedition (one might assume) and declared that they died in a ''tragic'' accident. Coincidentally, Professor Clemmons and his wife were also reported to be dead during that ''tragedy''...

@Hugoo Lafortune: In the "Mountains of Maddens" by Hp Lovecraft. Professor William Dyer find out that the Elder Things (One of the antagonists of the story) had somehow returned to life after slaughtering his colleagues. Maybe Clemmons found a way to restore Margret and Himself back to life when they get Killed, This supports the theory that Charlie (Carl) may be embude with some sort of reserection power because he was brought back to life while still in the womb and developing. Or maybe both Clemmons and Margret died than got possessed or took over by one of the Great Race of Yith (an extraterrestrial species with the ability to travel through space and time by switching bodies with hosts; From the Hp lovecraft book "The Shadow Out of Time") While in the temple. Hp Lovecraft does not mention the Great Race of Yith in the "Mountains of Maddens" but it could be deduced that because there is a high population of interdimensional beings, That the Race of Yith is drawn to the mountains. And that is why Professor Clemmons acts more subdued and methodical in later videos. This could explain why Charlie (Carl) may have powers because Margret was possessed by one of the Race of Yith and that the Race of Yith has somewhat Mystical powers which may be embedded in Charlie (Carl) in the womb.
Chances are Herbert West has something to do with bringing someone back from the dead, since he was explicitly mentioned, and he's the titular character of Herbert West - Reanimator. The story contains the first mention of Miskatonic University as well.

I would love a video in the style of the first few minutes of this one. Jump cuts like that, and moving from topic to topic and back and forth is one of the best triggers for me; I guess it comes from trying to follow along and rearrange things in the right order in my head? Either way, I don't see many videos like it.

Now since he's all young and naive in this video, it makes me believe that he's some kind of shapeshifter or if that is in fact the original Clemmons, a human mortal along with young Margaret, but after he delved too deep into the eldrich knowledge, he and his wife were actually replaced (or possessed) by Nyarlathotep and thus, eventually, all the Rifts opened, leading to the post-apocalyptic/fallout timeline with the Candyman, Scavenger , Mordecai and others. After that the evil entity finally leaves his body, letting him in complete madness just like we see in the Mr. Clemmons/ the Seer videos. I wonder....

OK my results are in. I don't experience ASMR. Huh. Well these videos are very relaxing and interesting what with all the lore, characters and simply the world this brilliant man has created. I have always had a feeling when watching Mr. Rogers as a child to cooking shows to this channel but never have I experienced "tingles". I have heard of them but never felt them. I show my brother 1 count em ONE video and he says he feels tingles. The strange thing is however, I still feel something... Not tingling but there's always this surreal feeling when hearing or seeing shows that... trigger me. Anyway that was my spiel about my lack of tingles, hope you go watch mister rogers and say me too!

I'm pretty sure Charlie "Carl" Clemmons is the Professor and Margaret's kid. Also Iggy's mom is Margaret's sister, not Margaret herself. So, probably Iggy's mom is Martha.
This is what I've been waiting for without ever knowing I was waiting for it. I am absolutely blown away with how young he makes himself look, it's mind-boggling how talented of a writer, actor, director, cameraman, editor, and makeup artist this man is. This video makes me want to dive into the lore of this world more than Dark Souls did, it's just as cryptic, and with the addition of this video, deep, given the radical shift in perspective, like a psychological thriller, almost. This video was the most unexpected thing I have ever seen, like a surprise Christmas gift your parents hid from you that they didn't even tease you about. God bless you for being such a fantastic artist, Uncle E. God bless you for tying the world together in a wonderful Christmas bow while making it just as analytical as Steven Universe. At this point, I think that's a very apt comparison, given how much hype I and the rest of the fandom received from this video and how happy we are to get a video made of complete lore while still being as entertaining and artistic as a regular video. This should be made into an ASMR series on Netflix or something like that, it more than deserves it, as long as this genius has full creative control, it will turn out a masterpiece.

This video is like a time capsule of nostalgia to me. Because it's so long and genuinely entertaining, I usually didn't remember enough of it from falling asleep to not want to listen to it, so I did more than any other video, and now it's very nice to have that again. Thankyou.
It is amazing how by just saving an changing to a more eager and happy face, that he makes Professor Clemmons look so much younger!
Dr Clemmons is married to Margaret. I'm going to guess that she wears the mask still because it reminds her when of she was young. Corvus was disfigured, most likely in some sort of medical tests he performed on himself. Question, have we ever met Dr Clemmons and Margaret's child? If not, I theorise that possibly the child was lost during birth. Margaret either still wears the mask, because it reminds her of before their child died, or because it makes her feel young, instead of old, which by now she likely is. After the possible loss of their child, Dr Clemmons tried to get his mind off the subject by becoming the head professor in Arkham Sanitarium. His brother tried to comfort him, but realised that his brother was now a broken man, and no longer the same brother he knew growing up. Corvus loved his brother too much to leave him in charge of an asylum and have to deal with Margaret, who by now has gone blind (I can't think of a reason as to how she became blind sadly, perhaps she went mad after she lost her child and accidentally caused her blindness) so he tried to help his brother in the only way he knew, by helping him with the asylum. The caretaker is an old friend with Dr Clemmons, possibly dating back to university (they are likely friends due to Clemmons referring to him by a nickname, however it is possible that he is just that, the caretaker) and so is Manley's aunt, who got him the job at the asylum. This is a good starting point for a "Rift-World" theory, take ideas for your own theories if you would like to.

H.E. C.R. My current theory is either Dr.Walker was an old friend of Professor Clemmons, perhaps one of his acquaintances who joined him on the hike, or he was a patient at the sanitarium who wanted to help and show he wasn't violent. I personally think the first is more possible.

This is my favorite video of yours, for a few reasons, one is the black and white. For whatever reason, it is VERY relaxing. Another one is the editing at the start. As a younger viewer, it brings my attention to the sound, and not anything around me. Therefore, I don't have to worry about staying up because of any scary content I may have watched before bed. Yet another is the voice you use. I think you nailed it with that, to. I know you'll never see this, but still, nice job.

You teased so many times with little quips of information, that it left me wanting more, but in the good way. I like the youth of the pre-trauma Clemmons. It made me wonder if I've missed a video where you explained the adventure trip. There's lots here, and it's way more than just ASMR. Thank you much, you clever and creative bastard you.

If you wanna do what I did, you see Corvus in one of his medieval appearances, and befriend him, either through travelling into the past from a time still some way before the present, or through actually being from that time and being immortal. In an accident, or being experienced in riftwalking, you travel far into the future, and find a very familiar plague doctor doing video diaries on RUclips. You try to research Arkham Sanitarium, however, and there is nothing. And so you travel around, looking for clues, yet you still need some sort of lodging, so decide to riftwalk again, and find yourself in Arkham, Massachusetts. You find a small house near the mall, and set about making yourself at home for the night, yet somebody beats you to it so, in a fight, you manage to lock them away, yet find the place a mess, with things broken and blood everywhere. You go and shop to clean up, and get a taste of the place's culture, yet are forced to shoplift, caught by Corvus, and taken to Arkham Sanitarium, where you are inducted and meet all the staff. You can space out Corvus's videos every week or so, bar the ones for Christmas and stuff, which are then viewed nearer to the occasion. There are playlists for things like the Peculiar Plastic Pouch Predicament, or What's In The Box, I think, and I'd recommend watching The Face Puncture Experiment as a prequel to Removing Sharp Objects From Your Face. Now, when you run out, set an appointment for whenever he's free, and see what happens, and in the meantime see Margaret, or Dave.
