I really enjoy Bitwig, I bought Ableton LIve suite, and the full version of Bitwig studio, and I like them both, but Bigwig has a workflow more conducive to my thought process.
Damn I just spent like 2 hours to find by myself how to run a sequencer with gates. And I find the answer without even searching it in a random video I thought I had already seen... Thank you so much bitwig guy👍
Saw the video, was impressed, bought Bitwig 16 track. Did not completely understand that you need the FULL version of Bitwig to play around with grid. So now it's just gathering dust on my desktop.
I hate the grid. I mean I was so enjoying it until I found out that by design nothing free runs if you go into polymode. FFS, polygrid should be renamed to monogrid. Much sadness as I was really digging it for regenerative work until I hit this brickwall.
@@aracnide5051 No idea now as I hit that issue and uninstalled Bitwig, so I can't even remember now. Basically I moved on to better solutions that matched my needs.
I am using Bitwig 5.1.3. At 0:37 into the video the AR envelope gets removed and in the video the Sine wave continues to drone. When I repeat this the Sine wave, which made audio before removing the AR when triggered from the keyboard, only makes a clicking noise and then silence. It does not drone as it does in the video. Anyone know what I am doing wrong? Maybe newer versions stop the droning by default? Thanks for your time.
You can do very detailed tweaks to the phase curve that controls the timing. Try the different modules in the Phase category to manipulate phase curves going into sequencer modules.
>>> Propaganda destroys greedy people. The program is anachronistic, old DOS style. It is very heavy on quad-core processors. It does not use the super fast memory of graphics cards. Prices from space. This means that the company has a small manager. I do not recommend this program to musicians ! I recommend clear thinking ! Greetings from Poland
And I highly recommend Bitwig Studio to nearly every electronic musican I meet ;) Well, taste is different, I guess. I don't really understand what you are saying there, but I have absolutely no problems running Bitwig and I don't see any propaganda here.
who need such stupid cables in order to make a 80's comodore like sound patch. This is ridiculously unintuitive sequencer and too complicated. I am not a mathematicien with a hi degree in logic mathematic functions, I am a mussician who need a instrument who works straight out of the box.have you ever seen a guitarist build his guitar ?
Hey there. Not all guitarists build their guitars, but some do. If you don't feel like building your own patches in The Grid, there are several hundred preset patches ready to load. Enjoy!
Nobody forced you to watch that vid or manipulate the Grid if you don’t like it. Tinkering is part of electronic music, and the DIY approach here shows how a DAW inside the DAW can be fun. Plus I personally see how interesting it can be to create some very interesting patterns and layers with that technique.
Thank you metronome. That’s enough for now...
super helpful!!! just what i requested a few weeks ago, and you guys delivered once again!! i LOVE using Bitwig!!!

Looking for a DAW to complement VCV Rack, this is firming as the favourite. These tutorials are the key, more advanced sequencing tutes please!
This feels more smooth than VCV, and certainly more textured for synthesis.
@@synthoelectro this reply is Thursday, and probably more Orange to the Peanut-butter.
Check Polarity's channel. He has tons of content about the Grid.
I almost felt like I was 5-years old when I watched this video... It's that easy to understand
Thanks for these, they really help 👍👌🙏
Bitwig is amazing, my gosh, cant get over this. :D
So cool, the grid is awesome
I bought bigwig 1.0 when it first came out years ago, then forgot about it. How much would it be to upgrade to the current version?
that would be $169 / €159, including 1 year of following upgrades. www.bitwig.com/en/shop/webshop.html
Fabulous as always
which key are you holding to merge down to a mixer?
CTRL
😁love the grid

@@generalawareness101 Are you saying you can't make the Grid polyphonic?

What do you hold down to activate and deactivate modules with a single click?
Maybe he used the alt-a shortcut after clicking?
@@knijk thank you
Great tutorial but how can I get everything to stop when I press the master/transport stop?

The grid ting is fucking insane.
I followed your steps but when I insert the Scaler the sequence is off tempo. What am I missing? Running Bitwig 3.2.8
how would you timenotch one or specific more steps of the Grid? is this possible to make a little bit micro timeshift?

I have a bitwig 8 track. scaler2 works on 8 track?
You can load two VST plug-ins in Bitwig Studio 8-Track.
great vid but not gonna lie those notes got annoying
Ok... Will we ignore that it's DAW inside another DAW?
Please give us an iOS version I will definitely be happy! I hear there is a Linux one. Peace Christo 👽🐕🎶🛸☮️
