    Fellow Texan here if you are from Texas 👍, nice playing and demo. I just saw a demo from a Philadelphia hardcore guitarist named Kyle Bull who did a Triple Rec and i think a Marshall JMP and this pedal really brings both of those amps to life.

    • @killertone

      Man that is the million dollar question....the UK is currently in a massive shutdown and there is no travel between Canada and the UK currently. When it opens back up and quarantining restrictions are removed it will make it feasible to do the proper production of the amp. No one wants it released more than I do, we just have to wait all this pandemic stuff out.

  • @michaelgenay
    @michaelgenay 3 года назад

    Hey man, I just bought my first Mesa triple rectifier and I’m hearing purchasing a Ibanez tube screamer ts9 is A MUST have for playing heavy C tuning metal.... is this true? Or is there a new pedal that beats out the old classic perhaps one of the modded ones? Cheers from Oklahoma

    • @killertone
      @killertone  3 года назад +1

      Personally, I always boost Rectos no matter what. A standard TS-9 will work but I think there are better options out there for tighter more refined tones. This pedal will definitely get you there as will the Fortin Hexdrive. Lots of options from other brands as well like the Deadweald Duality and the KSR Eros. So much gear so little time!

    • @michaelgenay
      @michaelgenay 3 года назад

      @@killertone thanks man! Is there one pedal in particular that really makes the MESA come to life? I appreciate the advice!

    • @mbeckwith7514
      @mbeckwith7514 3 года назад

      @@killertone million dollar question! What's your favorite overdrive pedal for boosting a jcm 800? I'm having trouble finding an OD that gets a jcm800 into enough gain for thrash, maybe I'm not playing hard enough, but just not quite getting there.

    • @killertone
      @killertone  3 года назад +1

      @@michaelgenay my go to for Rectos these days is the Hexdrive. Perfect amount of low cut for tightening the amp and allows you to have huge tight low end. Plenty of level and gain to saturate the amp as well. And, it's insanely easy to dial and use. No switches or modes just sounds great.

    • @killertone
      @killertone  3 года назад

      @@mbeckwith7514 Well the pedal in this vid excels at it as does the Deadweald Duality pedal. Either one will make you happy! They both have the extra something that an 800 needs to get to that nice saturation point. The Duality actually has two modes that are stackable so it's almost like using 2 pedals like stacking ODs and this Maxon/Fortin has the extra level and gain that a standard TS style pedal does not have so it gets it there as well.

  • @michaelgenay

    Hey dude! I am in need of advice my brotha... I just got my peppers dirty tree in the mail today (waited very patient shipping from New Zealand) I hooked it up to my Mesa triple Rec and I am sadly- pretty disappointed- I’m hoping I’m doing something wrong! Maybe you can help? The speakers normal buzzing is is amplified quite a bit! the normal amp buzzing isn’t terrible but when the pedal is hooked up and activated it’s very intense! Is this normal?
    That is problem number 1
    Problem number 2 is I can’t really tell a difference in the sound at all! I mean a TINY bit I guess but nothing at all like I was expecting. Everyone said you need to have a boost for the rectifier... so I got this pedal and it doesn’t seem to make a noticeable difference to me....
    Can you recommend what channel I should run this on or maybe some dial settings? I really hope I’m just doing something wrong and the dirty tree turns out to be as awesome as I hoped..... I hope this isn’t an annoying question man... just kind of bummed out on this right now. Thanks dude.

    • @killertone
      @killertone  3 года назад

      I don't own and have never used that pedal. It is just a copy of the 33 so it should work awesomely in front of a Recto because the real 33 is killer. Sounds like you may have gotten a defective one or something? I would reach out to the manufacturer for sure. You should be hearing a big difference when the pedal is on if it is anything like the pedal it is copied from.

    • @michaelgenay
      @michaelgenay 3 года назад

      @@killertone the amp I have is a 1998 solo head, 2 channel, rev G.... it sounds pretty brutal without the pedal... not insanely muddy like I hear people say about Mesa ... is it because it’s the older model? Maybe?

    • @michaelgenay
      @michaelgenay 3 года назад

      @@killertone also I was able to figure out the intense buzzing... my gain on the Mesa was very high... the buzzing went away when the gain was at noon.

    • @killertone
      @killertone  3 года назад +1

      @@michaelgenay I have had a few Rev Gs and they sound great but still need a boost, IMO. These are some good Red Channel settings settings to go with (clock face style): Bass 10-11, Mids noon, Treble 11, Presence 9-10, Gain 1. Also make sure you are on Silicone Diodes for the rectifier and and on Bold. Pedal on the 33 setting at 2 o'clock. That should kill. If it doesn't something ain't right.
