"Bringing riffs to the people." Excellent.
How does this channel not have hundreds of thousands of subs??? The nastiest riffs with the nastiest gear on YT period...fight me if you disagree
Haha thanks man that's awesome!
factsssss i love this channel
Dude you're on to something here. I found this channel through the video on the Master Effects shop page today but I've never gotten this channel in my search results even though I've searched for these same products. What is youtube doing here?
idk why you dont have more subscribers. You're videos are clear, concise, simple, and your tones sound absolutely phenomenal.
Thanks, man!
Killer Demo ! It's that total familiar Marshall sound that everyone tries to recreate from the late 90's now in a pedal. Just ordered one!
Keep chuggin' Cheers!
Sounds killer.
So good! Dream rig, That pedal, a Duncan Powerstage, and a 2x12
I wasn't expecting it to sound that good.
@@13guitard00d Well I left my job in my home town
And I headed for the smoke
Got a rock 'n' roll band and a fast right hand
Gonna get to the top
Nothing's gonna stop us, no nothing
I recently brought an 8100 back from the dead. After weeks of testing resistors capacitors etc.. I found the output transistors and output transformer were blown. When I removed them from the circuit it runs! I am currently using it as a preamp into my Fryette PS-100 and I'm boosting with a Fortin Grind. It sounds brooooots!! I scored the 8100 for 50 bucks! Someone had done some terrible repair attempts. I had to clean up a shitload of cold solders joints from replaced capacitors and resistors. I also have a VS100 and it equally slays! I keep the 8080 combo in the bedroom for those late night riff dreams.
Sick sick riffs, sounds insane!
The pedal sounds awesome! I have to admit, at first I didn't recognize the valvestate. But when you turned the contour knob it immediately brought me back to the late 90's when I owned one. Keep 'em coming! Excellent video!
Yeah I definitely didn't go for a direct re-creation of that amp's tone. I always like to use things to find my own voice and this pedal certainly allows that! But yeah, that contour knob is a dead give away haha!
Just found these pedals yesterday and was stoked to find out the guy makes them in my city
Awesome review. We used the VS8100 on our first demo "Hunger Pains" in 1993, both myself and the other guitarist used Valvestate half stacks so both sides on that tape you were hearing the VS8100 just with different guitars.. I used it with a Boss Compression/Sustainer and a Noise Gate. I later bought a second cabinet for it and started using the Digitech RP-1 and he switched to an Ampeg half stack. I first had the Valvestate 2x12 combo but I was struggling to hear myself over Aaron's half stack so....traded it for my own half stack. Loved that amp all the way up to 2008.
That's proper tone right there! I'm currently rebuilding the VS8240 combo I used back in the day as a teenager, glad I kept it because it also sounds great. My modded 6100 still edges it, but the signature first series Valvestate sound is just so good.
Would love to see the baba yaga 2c+ from master effects one day !
I like the no nonsense gear demos!!!
As always ,the most uncommonly tasty riffs out there..
Look forward to these demos.
Many thanks man!
You make those riffs look so effortless. You're playing and tones are awesome!
thats a tone monster
Great riffs bro, the pedal sounds awesome.
Thanks, man!
Incredible. That completely baffles me that a little pedal like that can sound so huge. Nice demo dude. Keep up the great content!!
Thanks so much man!
Could listen to you play guitar all day tbh. 🤘
Me like it!!! Brutal tone man!
Riffage mastery!!! You're the man, killin it! Badass brother!!🤘😆🤘
Thanks so much!
Sick, also your guitar is sick I love the Black Winter pickups
Sounds amazing! well done, Jason!
Damn I need one now.
Excellent riff! Thanks!
You sick bastard! That sounds great, well done dude!
It's a fun pedal for sure, totally nails the 8100 sound. I was thinking about doing a comparison vid between it and the real amp.
Great idea, yes please do that video comparing the pedal and amp. 🤘
Haha thanks man! You should totally do that. That would be killer!
Awesome pedal man sounds awesome.
Have a good day.
Sounds fantastic. Very tasty riffs!
Wow props. You were the first person I have seen that made that pedal sound insane. Awesome riffs too.
You mentioned Tommy Victor... I immediately subbed. HORNS UP \,,/ from Rhode Island
sounds like it should, and pushing it through a tube power amp might just get the best out of two worlds right there :)
The Valvestate VS8100 was my first proper amp, did soooo much work for me!
Great demo video as always!
YOU sir put the BROOT in BROOTUL! Killertone once again living up to his nomenclature.
I have lost track of the amount of money you have made me spend on pedals!
Thanks, man!! Sorry about the $$ but hopefully you're getting kick ass tones!
Sounds killer! 🤘🏻💪🏻
Flashback metal tones love it
Sounds sick! You should try and demo the SNK VHD, same concept but it’s an Ampeg VH140C in pedal format, another death metal classic
There are a few VH140C based pedals out there I'd love to check out
Freaking Awesome!
Awesome tone from an Awesome pedal, it deserves to be mass produced.
I'm making them as fast as I can! lol Thanks!
@@MasterEffectsPedals What I was meaning to say is that a pedal which sounds and looks that good, including the name/logo/brand, deserves mass production on the scale of a major company like MXR, have you thought of approaching them about a production deal?
George Saris gotta start selling more in order to catch their attention. I’m not tosin or misha 😂
@@MasterEffectsPedals Understood, but the quality is definitely there, it beats well known pedals like the MXR Dime dist or EVH 5150 OD. I'll spread the word on my part, it deserves it. 🤘
George Saris thank you, brother! 🙏
sounds great!
Awesome sound! I have a Valvestate 80V and the pedal sounds almost identical to it.
Killer Sounds!
Fantastic man!
Thanks hoser!
Killer riff and tone; reminds me a bit of Biohazard from back in the day..
Thanks! Love me some old Biohazard, man. Wasn't going for that here but I still love it haha
That is great sounding guitar as well!
Totally sounds like the guitar tone from House of God from King Diamond! Haha The trees have eyes 👀 Super compressed and a little scooping and boom Metal God! I like it.
I'll need to go and listen to that record again!
Good stuff . Right to the point . Great sound . Some will spend thousands to get just close to this sound . Dig it . Great vid bro .
Nice Guitar! 🤘
AWESOME tone! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
This dude can make a set of tube socks on a banjo sound good.
Like the Chuck Norris of guitar gear.
Awesome!!
Been a minute, must be that Texas Heat, we miss ya
It's soooooooooo damn hot man hahahaha!
I have the 8100 head, and I can hear some of my head in what you did in this video, but I think a big difference is that maxon. I'm a guessing that if I used the same maxon pedal I might get a tone similiar to this?
I would think so. I was trying to do something a but different than try to cop the exact same VS tone which is why I went through the amp FX return.
@@killertone thank you for your content. I subscribe to about 160 channels and watch most of them in order of release, but there are a few that get automatic viewing right away like you, Ola, etc. I would LOVE to see you do a fortin grind in front of a valvestate. I am so on the fence about buying it, because I am worried that the valvestate doesn't have enough low end flub for the grind to tighten up.
@@metal_helm I have this Martyr pedal, and an actual 8100 head, and a Fortin Grind pedal, and I can tell you that the Grind sounds insanely good in front of the 8100, and the Martyr too.
@@GordOlson any chance you'll demo that on your channel? 😁
@@metal_helm Hmmm... Yeah I'd say there's a chance. ;)
I have 8100 head too I run my head with a bogner Shiva with v30 and creamback with maxon od808 boost with d activators! Holy shit I get some Gojira tones \m/!
Yeah!
Chuck Schuldiner would approve.
I feel like a dummy for not being a subscriber here already.
Nice. I'd like to hear an Eidolon (The Dave Davidson solo pedal) with that
Next time someone asks what a tight tone sounds like, send them this vid.
hey tex? if i dont have a deep switch on my pwer amp any ideas on best way to get the same mid cut sound? not sure possible at the same point in the chain.. one of the best metal guitar tones through youtube ive heard .no post EQ???? thats so sickly insane
Are you the fella that helped develop the Fortin Sigil? i just saw your sick AF Sigil inlays on your solar guitar and put 2 & 2 together from only this vid (hahaha). I am now a subscriber for sure brutha!!!! keep those killa metal tones coming!!!!!! do you have any Kemper Packs for sale? i really want the JCM 2000 DSL 100 amp you have profiled with all your Fortin Pedals and Also non boosted as i would like to Run My Ibanez TS Mini to hit the front of My KEMPER. anyway please lemme know bro?! I will Purchase Kemper Packs from ya. the closest thing I have to the Marshall Hi Gain Tones is the Splawn QR Kemper profiles( They Are fookin Sick). i'm trying to Recreate that early NIle and Morbid Angel Guitar Tone. I know Karl uses the JCM 2000 DSL Heads(used too, and the Splawn Stuffz) and Trey Azagthoth uses JCM 900 boosted with a Rat and Erik Rutan the JCM 800 2203 modded with the Maxon stuff. point is, i wanna recreate those ones the best I can With my KEMPER until i can someday be a real boy and Buy Said AMPS and Pedals and CABS!!!!! cabs are the biggest thing and I have have Plenty of IR'S to get me there. Sorry the crazy long post, I'm just hella stoked on your tones bro and How your Marshalls Sound. Seriously, i have had 2 JCM 2000's one a DSL 50 and the othe the DSL 100 and they sounded broken so i sold them. Anyhow you got a New subscriber bro, keep up the killer content! - Matt B. (EPOCH PRO STUDIOS)
Nice demo. Subscribed. Where are those shelves from please?
Sick dude , make more vídeos with the jcm2000 please
I thought this is your signature series pedal 😂 the name, the same as your band
I had to re-shoot this a few times because I kept saying MARTYRED hahahaha!
Holy Crap, good stuff. A slight matter of concern is that when I hit up the Master Effects website I get a phishing warning.....
I'm assuming my browser is over-reacting?
hey Dave, that's really strange! I don't know if that's something in the wix backend or what. You can always order one thru my reverb shop also. Cheers!
@@MasterEffectsPedals Cheers for the heads-up :)
Hi! Is Randall RC412 better than Mesa 412? Can you make comparison?
Great riffing. Is that an existing song or something you cooked up for the demo?
Wrote it for the demo but I will be expanding it a bit to a full song
The intro song tone is a killer one ! I wonder what was the gear on this track ?
Any clue ?
Thanks! That is a Marshall DSL100 boosted by a Fortin Hexdrive pedal.
I don't remember Valvestate sounding that good :D
Hopefully Marshall reissues the amp at some point
How high do you set your black winters to the strings?
About a nickel depth
@@killertone thank you!
@@Wormed101 No Prob!
VH140C/VHD, pleaaaaaase.
Gotta get my hands on one of those
@@killertone *gets ideas* :D
Sounds like a 8100 minus the yuck
i got the real amp head for much less 💰😂

Hey man thanks for the kind words! I did not develop the Sigil that was all Mike Fortin. I did work on an amp called the Evil Pumpkin with him and it will hopefully be released as soon as the pandemic situation chills out. I have a video with that amp from NAMM 2020 on my YT channel you should check it out here: ruclips.net/video/TJu3QGXirP0/видео.html . The inlays on my signature Solar guitar are a variation on the Viking Helm of Awe. Totally different thing than the Sigil logo. I do have a Kemper pack available through Replicant Audio. It can be found here: replicantaudio.com/product/killertone-studio-pack/ . Lots of profiles with and without Fortin pedals. Marshall JCM800s, Mesa Dual and Triple Rev F Rectifiers, ENGL, Marshall JVM. A video with some samples is here: ruclips.net/video/yJv_ZPi-DmY/видео.html. Check it out! Later man!!
