ah yes that was our biggest realism issue in a game where you run around in diamond armor and fight a dragon
yeah, i understand certain things they would want to be realistic, killing a parrot by feeding it a chocolate cookie makes sense, but not adding fireflies cause their toxic to frogs makes no sense when they can eat magma cubes perfectly fine, i don't think frogs can eat that kinda stuff in real life, the best updates have been the ones that lean into the fantasy of the game, like the nether update.

Don't get distracted by Microsoft's corporate speak. They didn't remove it because it was unrealistic they just say that to hide the fact that the test builds of fireflys made the game drop all of it's frames.

Honestly, I think the item repair cost is why mods like Tinker's Construct and its various spinoffs exist. People REALLY like being able to just go to a table, slap two iron on it, and boom, full durability tool. No mending, no level cost, just REPAIR.
Well, that, and I remember in either tinker or one of its spinoffs, having a better mending. You slapped some slime into it, boom, passive regenerative tool, that actually takes time to repair itself, but you dont need to go to your EXP farm or return home. Just wait a few minutes and you are good to go again.

@@philippeleprohon4823 because anvils have to take so much beating over time, the eventually get worn down. eventually this means you get past the point where you are hardening and you actually start to damage the anvil instead. it takes a very long time (i think the anvil i broke was ten years old) and it doesn't break a lot, but when it cracks down the middle, they become less useful. not unusable, but it can cause imperfections in metal.

If you follow the streams, you can realize that these clips weren't easy to gather, literally going into shitty matches one after the other with no luck. That's why there's quite the number of MVM clips and ones from his balance server. Hope you get in actually good rounds in the future.

The thing that really annoys me about "love triangles" is that most of the time they're not even an actual triangle, it's just a V with some person (usually the protagonist) backed into a corner and forced to choose. If you want a real "love triangle", let your characters be poly and stop using cheap tropes to make easy drama. Most of the usual "love triangles" in media can be improved by either having one of the two suitors just be a platonic friend or have it be an actual poly relationship.
Since livers grow back, it's probably something you can donate over and over.

i feel the whole realism argument being stupid and dull, like that is the biggest argument in favor of random shotgun spread in this game where you can jump on explosions and coating someone in milk makes you a vampire.
games are fiction, you don't need to program cookies killing birds that's just cunty game design in an otherwise forgiving game.and then having the wither be the last mob added able to destroy blocks just makes the world way less interactive. like you have a voxel based entirely destructable world and you just ignore it as a game mechanic so you give mobs attacks which can phase through walls.
i know i circled back to minecraft but yaknow, vexes phasing through blocks is bullshit and the wardens sonic boom to attack through walls is lame compared to making its digging a game mechanic instead of just a spawn mechanic, destroying walls and climbing up or down pillars, would make the horror mob way scarier.
things with love triangle stories is that they are absolutely pointless because ploy relationships exist, my known a few friends in one both current and previous, no dumb misunderstandings or conflict, just have three characters grow to know one another then all fall in love together.

It’s funny coming back to this! Especially because, not only do I donate plasma twice a week, but because I *actually enjoy it.* The wait times and travel hassle are more annoying than getting stabbed and being stuck in one place for almost an hour.

Mending is stupid. And it's still one of my favorite enchantments in Minecraft, just because it helps to negate the giant steaming pile of crap of a feature that the item durability is. There are so many reasons why item durability just doesn't work in Minecraft: regardless of the version you're playing, the best material (pre-cave update diamonds and netherite in general) is rare, making stuff made from it difficult to both repair and replace, forcing you to use Mending and then stand under the mob grinder for 10 hours just so your top-tier items don't break. It's even worse when enchantments come into play: recreating your favorite set of them on a brand-new item after the old one breaks is tedious and time-consuming and so is repairing them due to the increased XP cost, leaving you with Mending, which, again, forces you to stand under the mob grinder for 10 hours. Mending is the only thing holding this together and it's such a bad solution- but unfortunately it's the only one. Now- would I be happy if the durability system was removed altoghether? I'd be overjoyed!... but that would break the game on the fundamental level, so some other solution would probably be more welcome. But, seeing how varied the quality of the last few updates has been and how little Mojang listens to our requests, I don't expect that to ever become a reality.
