  • This focal point is an exaggerated sensation to really grasp the Front Quadrant aspect. We want the swimmer to feel their 'elbow wet before pull', ensuring the stroke is timed through 'torso rotation'.
It may look like old school 'catch - up' but it's not, at no point will both arms stop, with body in flat position.
The practice is to be done slowly - which is a challenge in itself.
The swimmer will need to maintain really good stability, as the recovery arm moves through to entry.
Resist the temptation to 'pull' your lead arm early, or pull the arm with too much force or effort, allow the arm to track back and hold the water
The focal point and stroke timing will increase efficiency, and lower SPL towards optimal
The mechanic is 'scalable' when we put a tempo trainer on it, allowing the swimmer to access easy sustainable speed, rather than hard exhausting speed.
