    I have this problem from time to time. I have a special fitting that I have designed to fit onto my shop vac hose to step down from the diameter of the hose to the inner diameter of the drain pipe so that I get a good seal and can suck the gunk out. Then I pour some bleach water down the line to sanitize and (hopefully) kill any mold growth.

      Nice! Just stay away from bleach as it corrodes metals at a super high rate. Use vinegar. This one you just add to water as it is concentrated...... amzn.to/454Zy9Z

      Vinegar works well. Alternatively, you can try this and it does it automatically. Ones less thing to worry about, and it can save many households a single service call fee. A few that I know have had it installed, and swear by it........ amzn.to/3wPgZPe
