I trained on a Volvo. I loved its big West Coast mirrors and the full length entrance bars. Freightliner mirrors are dinky. This is a really nice truck. The wrap around console is like a cockpit. Plus, the table would be great for meal prep, so not every penny earned is spent on unhealthy, expensive, truckstop food. If Volvo can create so much storage, why can't other companies. I'm 5'5 3/4" tall and female. I need the cup holder as close as possible. LOL. Thanks for the tour.
Awesome Video Indiana Jack!!Thanks for stopping by and doing the video on the 2020 Volvo VNL860 Blackout edition! I’ve already had a lot of positive feedback.
Man, and the D16 y'all get is nowhere near as cool as the one here in Europe. 600hp /2050 lb-ft (2779Nm) is nothing compared to the 750hp /2616 lb-ft (3550Nm) spec, especially considering that the ones in Europe are better in terms of emissions, furthermore they're probably more reliable, too.
They really run low hp in USA D13 455hp in Australia most of our base Volvo semi run 540hp and a lot runD16 600-700hp with B-doubles and road trains. But one thing I do like about the USA is the massive sleepers we cannot get that in Australia.
I'm not a big VOLVO fan, however that is a sweet truck and you did a nice job showing it Jack. It was also nice seeing you once again. ..... I can't believe how tall you are, I'm 5 foot 5, I'd be lucky to come up to your waste. Lucky for me they don't have a height restriction for drivers, or at least they didn't when I owned my MACK a long time ago... Hope all is well Jack, and thanks for the video......
That is one Beautiful Truck!! I'm surprised, unless they have them already, that there isn't a portable "Backup Camera" that can easily and quickly attach/detach from a Trailer for when backing up into tight places through a device that can be placed in the truck or any vehicle at any time. That would be nice. --- Love this all Black Volvo though, man oh man.
Check out the Volvo Cabover FH12 Made In Australia for the Australia market. It will run rings around that black conventional. Those long wheelbase tractor units may be ok on the freeway, but try blind siding one of those 50+ ft trailers in a tight gap, that sort the men from the boys.
Well, the 1st thing is that those d13 motors are junk. Always have been in my opinion. If your a piggybacker like i was, the Volvo's are a pain in the ass to deck with the air ride front end. They are too top heavy and susceptible to rollover higher than any other truck. They have that stupid idle sensors in them to where if you dont bump the throttle, the truck will die and shut off after 2 minutes. Etc. You get the point. I never have liked driving Volvo's.
I can remember Volvo trucks being known as death rides with many of the problems with the steer tires practically falling off in some instances. I sure hope they fixed all those problems by now.
I wish we could have in Europe, this kind of trucks, with "nose". It's a big wish that will never come true, because of too many reasons. Anyway, everything it's made for USA is very different, much more options, materials quality etc. It's a powerful market.
amazing. steering wheel liken that was available in european volvo fh on 2012/13 model, multimedia and the other "gizmos". shame we can`t have such a big sleepers. in fact dashboard layout "on Yours" is european volvo fh 2002-2012 model
Interesting seeing the American stuff. I'm a British trucker and drive a scania. Would never have a Volvo over a Scania. But great video I enjoy your content
Almost makes you want to go buy it and go back trucking what you think ? I usually like the ones all chromed out but this Volvo is awesome. I would call it black ops. What's the asking price ? Wild guess 110,000.
Merry Christmas Jack, nice truck, cab over Volvo's are fantastic trucks too, we haven't had the conventional models for about 20 yrs, might be time to bring them back.🇳🇿
Gorgeous truck. I never saw a huge Volvo fan UNTIL I started watching your videos ... Now if I were shopping to purchase, I'd seriously consider Volvo! I still can't seem to get much enthusiasm over I-Shift trans tho!!! I guess I'm too much 'old school' ... 10 and 13 spd manuals is about all I ever operated. I was surprised when you chose I-Shift in the Swede. Belated Christmas Blessings to you, subscribers and viewers. Thank you for sharing this beautiful Volvo!
New cars since May 2018 are required to have backup cameras. I'm not sure how it affects trucks, but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that influenced Volvo's decision to add a backup camera.
I’m sorry but the camera have to be in the tail of the trailers not in the tractor. And please make sure that SWIFT transportation get those cameras first.
I would buy that truck just to use as a personal vehicle. Commuting to work and home would be the best part of the day! Kidding, but that's an awesome truck.
Wait, so for those times when you want to go from auto to manual you have to reach to find a little button on the dash? And shifting gears too? Why was a paddle a problem? Why not just integrate that into the steering wheel too?
Jack I noticed that in old red and I guess the Swede also, you had a cobra CB radio, model 29LX which has the 4 color digital display. My wife just got me one for christmas. Did you have any problems with your radio when you were bouncing around in the road ?? This radio has mixed reviews . I'm sure with all the vibration in you're trucks it got a good test. Or if any of the other viewers have owned this radio like to hear from them.
My first job in trucking was with Certified Transport ( CTI ) on Thompson Rd Indianapolis. They gave me a 96 Volvo 610 . It was a great truck. It was a 13speed manual which I prefer manual transmissions, my only complaint was that the shifter felt like it was to far back. Other than that it was a great truck. My brother got the sister truck his ended up being a lemon. They called them polish peterbilts lmao.
It's always good to hear from you jack watched the one earlier where you had a load of loose corn from the indian reservation. Hope you had a awesome Christmas.
I'm probably one of the few Dutch/European guys that is not that much into torpedo trucks :P. But I always liked the Volvo's somehow (well and the European Scania's T's). There is one thing I'm curious about though; this 2020 Volvo has the same steeringwheel as the European FH-4 truck, but has the older FH-3-style dashboard. I think the new FH-4 dashboard would look great in that truck perfectly, any idea why they haven't fitted that one yet?
@@MetalMusicManiac It’s a length issue in Europe. Most European trucks are limited length wise to a 45ft trailer running tri axle instead of tandems. Current maximum weight is 44,000 kgs on general freight. Swedish brand Scania buck the trend of cabovers over here with their T cab affectionately called the bullnose. These run a 16.4 litre Scania built V8 putting out 770bhp and 3650nm torque
The truck looks great but with a truck such as this one should install a guill guard. Imagine how much damage hitting an animal would do. But I recommend a grill guard for all big trucks.
@@dannyixoye262 A bull bar or push guard is used on the front of an SUV or pick-up. For a semi, there are two versions. The smaller version is a deer guard and the larger is a moose guard.

I had a 2004 Volvo FM globetrotter 420 bhp cabover. 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧. One of the best wagons I've ever had..

Yep, black on black is nice
The best truck Volvo has ever made! Merry Christmas Jack.
I've driven the new Volvo pulling a hopper bottom. Love the I-Shift 12-speed. Best automated manual out there. Wish they still offered the D16.
Wish that backup camera was on every truck tractor
Nice truck.
Those little things always matter.
They finally listened to drivers feedback unlike some makes.
Thanks for sharing
good job Indiana jack enjoy good luck

Trucks have come along way that’s for sure
Very well done video jack, probably the nicest interior out of all trucks. Volvo makes it feel like a 1000sq foot condo
awesome "cockpit" Jack 🇮🇩🇮🇩

Nice truck I have the same one but white do you know how to unlock the speed limiter ?
A dream truck
Why do some people hate these so much and with a passion
CHAOS GAMING Because some of the people don’t know what they are talking about.

My dads cousin bought this truck last month. My mom and dad drive one as a team.

I’ve never cared for Volvo but I wouldn’t hesitate to drive that one. Nice tractor for sure

These truck manufacturers should let Winnebago design the sleeper's interior.

That is one very beautiful and driver friendly truck. I love the areo dynamics.!
Volvos do look nice! Love tht midroof look... 😊
Wow that's awesome
Sweet looking truck!
Nice looking Truck.
The shorter wheelbase daycabs are a decent ride. I'd imagine the longer wheelbase sleeper rides like an old Lincoln Town Car. 👍
I love the truck very nice I would do the red Volvo so nice and that is awesome to have the back up camera love it so much jack
The exterior is sharp, for sure.

Best truck in North America
No belly overlap on the table? Man, gotta have one of those!
Safe travels, and a merry Christmas to you, and yours, Jack!

Very nice truck and really like the extras but I bet it's going to be very expensive to fix and not last as long as a older truck
Love this truck!

Why didn’t they use the new Volvo interior that interior went out here in Ireland and Europe in 2012
I don't really like the new FH 16 dashboard to be honest
Nice truck but it needs a DS16 750 hors engine

So Jack, when you going to buy one and get back on the road.
You need to include Model and Year information of this Volvo in the Title of this video!
Merry Christmas Jack. That truck looks great but it needs at least a 13 spd if not an 18 spd.
We need this in Europe, just awesome 🤘

What do they want for it?
