    Nice system ! I think you're n a very good path. I believe you are correct about the Battle Born price issues. I've ran Chins for ~18 months without issues. Simple dollars & cents; $950 vs $300. Just as a comparison at the opposite end of the power spectrum needs..... As long time (RV'r 45+ years not full timers); we use 2-100 amp/hour LIFePO4 batteries, 2-100 W solar panels, 500W inverter & 2000W inverter/generator (for backup & occasional 110 needs) . When down South in AZ we never run short on power. Here in our area (PNW) we camp in the wooded areas. We do have a lot of overcast in the Winter, so we have to watch it a bit close and use the genny for a few hours about every 3 days. We very rarely use our A/C. Summers up here are pretty mild with only a few days over mid 90's and it cools down at night. Our 3 Fantastic Fans do us just fine. Your humity is killer down there, we have very little.

    My only issue I’ve had with LiTime was their BMS were sensitive and sometimes shutdown on me. Switch to Renogy and never had an issue. I agree some of these brands are asking huge prices

    I have the same rv and solar setup, but 12v with 400ah. I am thinking on making a 980ah Diy with eve cells.
    1 other thing I love about our system is the power assist. I have a small 2k gen I bring with me when dry camping and it can charge my bank and run the ac at the same time. Love victron

    Thanks for all ya do. Have not got a RV yet but I sure am interested in getting one someday. Definitely going with a 24 volt system. My future RV is going to be a Grand Design Momentum 410th. Truck someday will be a Ram 3500 dually. I am very familiar with 120/240 volt systems. I was a apprentice electrician for 4 years. Still do some electrical work on a as needed basis. I also know alot about vehicles. I try to do all my own maintenance. Thanks

    The video I was seeking!! I’m planning an almost identical system for my 30a class c (but with the 230ah batteries) and I’m excited as it looks like it’ll be perfect for my power hungry needs.

    • @saltytrips
      @saltytrips  11 месяцев назад +1

      You won’t need the 2 x120 inverter with a 30a , that will make things a bit simpler. We’ve actually added another battery for a total of 15,000wh. Thats a more recent video. You thinking 24v or 12v system?

    • @TheCodeMonk
      @TheCodeMonk 11 месяцев назад

      @@saltytrips yeah, getting the non 2x120 model but going 24v still. The difference in wire size for everything is huge and when I laid it all out (With my Solar plans), it ends up being cheaper, even with the 12v converters.

    What are you seeing for idle draw? I have my camper in storage now, pulling 0 watts. When I turn the inverters on, it's showing 23-24 watts for the AC load (which I assume is just idle load), but the DC usage is ~80 watts. I've hand calculated from the BMS Ah to confirm that number. It seems crazy that the system uses 80 watts extra just to power the inverters.

    • @saltytrips

      I haven’t measured Idle draw, haven’t really had the chance to

    • @SuperJason2k

      @@saltytrips I'll do some more experimenting. I let it run overnight and it was drawing around 60 watts on the DC side (hand calculated from the battery BMS). I'm going to flip the breakers off this evening and see if I have some vampire loads that I could switch off. Stay tuned!

    Hello. It is me again. With that much battery, go with 4k or 6k watts. Convert as much as possible to 120volts. I use only 1 victron 24v to 12v converter. I will probably add a second.
    As you know, I have 1500watts x 624volt x20watt solar panels on the roof. I have 200lbs of 24v 404kwh LiFePo4 batteries.

    Impressive! If you were booning without the AC, I wonder how long you would go? I just bought a Class A with my first residential fridge, 12 volt CPAP and 12 volt cooler has me wondering how long I could go without the genny until I save for solar.

      @dwayneearle8787 Год назад

      @@saltytrips Yeah saw that, equally impressive, My thoughts were 800-1200 AH's but my hangup to 24 V transition and solar is that I think I need to replace the 12 V Magnum inverter to go with either another 24 V Magnum or the MultiPlus which will make things super pricey.

    • @saltytrips
      @saltytrips  Год назад +1

      @@dwayneearle8787 this biggest bonus of the Multiplus II 2x120 is that it goes inline with the shore power and automatically takes over when you loose shore power and the power assist if uour moochdocking on 15a or 30a shore power with a 50a rig.
