    It may be a little small dot, but it takes balls and firm courage to take this position. A nation exists and is indeed respected only for it's principles, philosophy, abd above all tolerance.

      Singapore's "principled stand" seems to be selective. When it comes to the western powers, the stand disappears. What does he have to say about the atrocities committed by the US? Where does he stand? If only Singapore is as principled as the govt claims to be. Pretending to be short-sighted is the most convenient.

    If anything, the Ukraine war has enabled the Oligarchs to manipulate oil and gas, and supply chains to increase prices of goods and services that led to high rates of inflation. Singapore has allowed great numbers into the country and kept prices north and demand for housing and car/transport prices high, that to compound the sharp rises in other variables in the cost of living.

    Sucks man. Unless we want Oil, gas, Coal, Nickel and Wheat even to rise in Singapore than by all means. Ukraine war is just like a proxy war of the Korean War.

    First time to hear the bifurcation hinges on China's decisions. I thought it is always the US making decisions on containing China's economic expansion, e.g. Huawei and Tiktok.

    I really like to hear what our foreign minister have to say about the INDO PACIFIC framework, the political wide.
    On sanction, the conclusion was, standing up to our principal. Try and take a look at how the United State treat the middle east. Like for example, the recent assasination of Qasem Suleimani(Iraq general).
    Why wasn't there any sanction impose back then??

    Replies are complicated by difficult words, eregregious, stagflation, bifurcation etc ad nauseum. The points he was trying to make are: Russia's attack on Ukraine is principally wrong and illegal bec Ukraine is a sovereign state unlike Taiwan which is a part of China. with a different type of governance from the Motherland. 2. The Ukraine war has revived the cold war geopolitics. 3. Singapore does not want to take sides but must always act in its best interests. 4. The Indo-Pacific alliance will never take off. 5. Wary of militarily aggressive China but we must trade with them and keep them in good humour.

    • @seafood_hater
      @seafood_hater Год назад

      China is militarily aggressive? Really? Do you not know about USA's ubiquitous military bases? You're looking at it the opposite way. SG is keeping the western powers in good humor because of their militarily aggression, not the other way around. US navy often visits SG for maintenance and replenishment--not the Chinese btw. Imagine pissing them off one day. And for a minute, think about why the Americans have to travel so far away from home to SEA. Because they want to protect us? LOL
