I rescued a baby Blackbird from desroyed nest and raised it successfully to a beautiful adult and I am so grateful for this experience. Blackbirds are so cheerful, smart, affectionate. We have a great bond. Thanks to your video I could estemate more exact his birthday. Your video is truly wonderful and I dearly thank you.
I rescued a baby blackbird from magpies and I took him back to his nest area he now is a fully grown male and he comes to me every morning and evening for food he’s not afraid of my dogs or to let me know he’s hungry by coming up very close to me this video has learned me a lot Thankyou for sharing
A fascinating video, And to those who gave it the thumbs down, This is what's wrong with the world today, people don't enjoy and respect what's given to them by nature, And best of all costs absolutely nothing...🙂👍🏼👍🏼
I've got a blackbird that literally comes to my kitchen window every morning for a feed. Then when I'm in the kitchen during the day and he sees me he'll fly up to the window to make sure he gets my attention. Love the idea of the open birdbox covered by your awning. Now you've given me an idea...
I have a blackbird that does that too during fledgling season. Some mornings, because he makes such a commotion at the window, I have to stop making my breakfast to put his outside
Unfortunately they always leave the nest too early and then cats easily find them. You have a beautiful garden wish I had more than the tiny yard I have, I spend a lot of time on my allotments though and have a large area there for wildlife, butterfly garden nest boxes and a small pond etc lov it.
Loved watching this ! Just discovered a blackbird nest in the large laurel tree we had planted last September . Sadly though I did find a very almost not quite formed chick on the patio not far from the nest . There are wood pigeons about . Do you think they may have tried to steal it or ???
I enjoyed your video! One question though, when the baby chicks leave the nest, do they ever come back to take shelter in it, for example when it's raining or just to hang out a bit?
I always watch them in my garden and feed them too , actually I noticed the father all day long watching from far the nest and the mother if they need any help , they r so nice and beautiful birds that’s why I love them v v much 🐧🐧
I am surprised at such openly visable nests for blackbirds.. All bb nests I have found have been hidden in hedges and scrub. Isn't the nest visable to predators such as magpies, Owls, squirrels, cats? 🤔

Awesome video, a pair of birds have just started nesting in the bush right in front of my window (hopefully they don’t fly into glass!)
