  • On Sunday morning we can easily fall in the trap of doing a concert instead of pastoring people into God's presence. How to cultivate a pastoral heart for the people we serve while pursuing excellence in the music and other elements that comprise our responsibilities.

This is the deadest horse in Christianity. Frankly I am sick to death of hearing "it's not about us." It is too often used as a get-out-of-jail-free card to excuse a poor work ethic, laziness and ineptitude on the part of church musicians. Worship teams have become the worst humble-braggarts on the planet. Ineptitude has become all too often confused with humility. Seriously. It's time to get on with the job we are asked to do, and to do it with excellence. Everything we do in life is a performance. Get over it already.
