@@eashanm Well, he is known as one of the greatest military leaders in history, creating an empire larger than even Rome I think. Problem is that he died at a fairly young age, and left the Empire in the hands of his 3 most trusted generals. Who decided to split up the Empire, and the whole thing fell apart. Same thing happened with the Mongolian Empire of Genghis Khan.

I find that most villains are actually very wise and often wronged in some way. Like a smart man once said: "Why do men turn bad? Because they're hurting." Heroes are idealists, villains are idealists with a broken heart.
I think Episode 4 of What If on Disney+ serves your point well (with Dr. Strange) however I must say that some villains/ bad people are bad and evil just for the sake of it

Especially when God's plan includes but is not limited to murder, rape, abuse, neglect, and many other awful things that people are forced to witness and suffer. You can claim that is free will but, I don't recall your entity interfering until after someone did wrong even through he would be there to see it, know that it is going to happen down to the last detail, and would have the power to stop it. Like for example, the story of Cain and Abel or when Adam and Eve were tempted to eat the apple.
Even more sadistic? If someone takes their own life then your entity that loves his "children" so much damns them to eternal torment, while their family and loved ones weeps with regret that they lost them. You even have people that have exploited their position to get money and used their status to molest children while saying that they know your entity. Wrong terminology. Antagonist refers to the entity in which faces off against/interfere with the protagonist. Antagonist can be anyone at that point, even a genuinely good person.
@@cloudstrife746 yh I think the world as whole is becoming intelligent enough as well as the literature is getting to a point where there are no heroes or Villians there are just characters with varying motivations, viewpoints, ideals/ideas. Like even the most bland destroy the world Villian has the motivation to destroy the world. Whil yes there are protagonists and antagonists they are simply that due to the way the narrative is written if it was written a different way then they'd probs be the protagonist or a side character or a different main character or whatnot.
