Being a hero comes at the cost of yourself. As soon as anyone realizes this, they start to change out of fear. And then they become the villain, which costs others. They became the very thing they swore to protect others from out of fear.

Save systems really let you do so messed up stuff. I had a Elder Scrolls Oblivion playthrough where after saving I would slaughter everyone in a town, load back, then do it again to see if I could get a personal record. After having had enough fun, I carried on with my righteous warrior playthrough. If someone had the power to save and load in real life, then they could do some really messed up stuff and no one would be any wiser.

This is why I like villains of good intentions, often they seek the only path to save the kingdom, world, etc. Yet the "Heroes" will stand against them because they'd rather leave the future up to chance or hope.

ugh, i wish i was talented enough to write a book about becoming a villain. this playlist is such an inspiration
Training beats talent. Just get started and you will improve over time. You need persistence, passion, determination to write a book, no talent.
Try it, with or without experience, is my suggest. I am really bad at imagination and being creative (or, at least, that's what I consider), but taking reviews of all stories I have since 2015 until now made me realise I've improved in creation, character development and sense, and it all worked because of the training, the experience and the help (sometimes taking inspiration from other sources help too). I still can´t believe how different my most recent story is from the first one, it's literally insane. You just need to begin with an idea, and write it down, no matter how. The rest will be coming from that without noticing. If you are interested in trying, I would suggest you to use tools like Canva (for example, for faking a document from the goberment which appears in the story), avatar makers (for getting a clear idea of how your characters look like) and similar stuff. It really helps with imagination, motivation and roleplay. Those tools helped me too with the procces of working in my stories. Hope you get motivated!

No need to try and give others false hope, it will only make it worse. For when that fragile hope shatters for the last time, they will fall much further than they did before. It's best to be honest and truthful with them, and they'll be able to assist in guiding the next generation through this illness.

I would actually like a plot of a stereotypical "villain trying to save the world but his view is flawed and has to be stopped by the hero" but in this case it's written from the perspective of the "villain" and he's actually right. But because of the Hero he's forced into many fights that end with colletoral damage for which he is blamed, as you typically see in the Hero movies where cities get attacked like Marvel's Avengers.
I think it would be interesting to see a gritty story where the cold calculus of a "villain" ends up being what is needed to save "the world". It's a great way of teaching people that "the morally right way" is nice but is also a risk, a risk that can turn out much worse than the plan of the "villain". I can imagine the hero trying to stop the "villain" in the final moments as usually happens but this time the "villain" beats the hero and shows him that his morality almost cost millions of people's their lives. Like a Thanos but where he's *actually* right.
I'm serious, your entire post is very much in the spirit of Worm. It is gritty. It is psychological af. It's got superpowers and a couple world-ending beasts that are never fully dealt with and yet it's disturbingly realistic.

Usually when I click on playlists with similar titles, I am sorely disappointed. Not so. Truly villainous and truly pure in its rage. This is a glorious assembly of music. Kudos.
