You sill need a real one. This gives you more time to wait for a donor when nothing else will help, but if you want to continue on, you will still need an actual heart. I can't imagine it. As difficult as my experience was, HIS had to have been 10 times more difficult! I don't think I could have mustered the strength to go through what he did. @only1muppet I'm certain it can adjust... just probably not in the way you expect. Previous total artifical hearts like the one from Syncardia have a set "heart rate" but the cardiac output (the thing that matters) changes based on the amount of venous return - which is linked to activity level, among other things. Long story short, if previous TAHs could adjust their output, I'm sure this fancy new one can.

@redbepis4600 did you know his eating habits? His workout habits? His family health history? Even if he was born with a bad heart, that's not God's fault. It's ultimately sin and our free will. And in order for God to take out sin, he would have to take us out (including me). That's why Jesus christ was born to take our sin and give us entrance into heaven where everything is back to its original plan for mankind. Where there's no heart problems .
