I rode by this hotel a month ago or so. The outside led me to believe it would be a luxury hotel. It is not a luxury hotel but the inside looked nice and location is excellent. I would stay here short term because it's new but you can get better value in Pattaya. Thanks for the review Loucous. I've been curious about this hotel.
Pattaya sure coming alive a lot now, they're building a lot of new Hotels like Somerset Pattaya and then months ago the The Grand Certre Point Space Pattaya Hotel. So thats good for business. Thanks Loocus for the Update on Hotels.
our favorite roving reporter gets the first scoop on another cool location:) I am sure you've filmed or talked about that food hall place in other videos, but it looked really good! (maybe i shouldn't have skipped dinner!) lots of things to pick from:)
Once again you’re the Ace reporter first on the scene to check these places out. Well done! I may end up switching to this place when the on line booking opens depending on price. They may raise the prices once the restaurant and amenities are all open. We’ll see soon.
A Room like that Where I live(Puerto Rico) Will cost You a lot more(3x-5x), it is Nice, specially with that mall next to it. Happy travels and stay safe. God bless You guys👍🏿.
Seems nice...I have walked by.. Been staying at the Edge condo just down the road...very new, great lounge, infinity pool, sauna, etc. Studio a bit small like most things in Thailand but affordable on Airbnb or some property managers.
Looks nice enough, but my experience with Somerset is that they often end up quite expensive, 5 star prices but 4 star service and facilities. And nit particularly cool or exciting. Given the location I think this will be very popular and the pricing will reflect that, but there will be much better value elsewhere.
I totally think Vee and Yourself should be getting a Pay Check from the Thailand Tour. Dept for showing the Country in such a Positive Way ..Get well Vee.
I agree. The hotel appears to be similar to Holiday Inn Express or La Quinta Inn. $68/Night is still a great price. Location/View amazing. Maybe after the full amenities are up and running, the overall attraction of the hotel will come to light.
Not like a Holiday Inn Express in Europe. The ones I've stayed in Europe have electric heaters on the wall that you manually Control. Either too hot or too cold and I've never found had a robe and slippers in a closet with wooden hangers.
@@prontsc Most Holiday Inn Expresses are pretty basic, but there are two in Thailand with swimming pools: Pattaya and Phuket. Both have decent air conditioning and decent breakfasts too.
Hi Lucius & Vee great Vlog as usual I quite like the new hotel very good location on 2nd road opposite the Central Plaza & Hilton I usually stay there. The room was nice and big bed I know it’s brand new but I think for the location the price was good and plenty free parking for guests as I usually drive when I am in Thailand might try it next time I am in town I like things to be central. Keep up the great work Cheers Irish Paul
Sounds like a very soft opening and maybe there will be drinks in the refrigerator once the restaurant/bar opens. As you say, basic! You say Holiday Inn Express! Wonder if the upgraded ones are more luxurious with more amenities. Love the food options at Central Plaza
Hey Lucas, how are you? That was a nice hotel at a reasonable rate, I think. Your meal on the other hand... Where's Vee? Has she recovered and is she okay? I'm so used to seeing her with you. Thank you for sharing the great information and take care of yourselves.
I can understand putting a door where the toilet is for privacy..... But I can't understand making it a clear glass door..... That completely spoils the purpose of the door.
Hilton has one big sliding door for shower and toilet with no lock...so if you either shower or poo....and if someone else is using the shower....then you have to fight for the sliding door.. At least this hotel has two separate doors....but clear glass very 1940s barracks toilets and showers.
Nice looking hotel. To be honest I'd prefer to stay in an established hotel that's been going for a while. Or an apartment or villa. Brand new and shiney often means lacking character and no vibe. Great video as always Loucas 👍✌️🙏
Greetings from Pratumnak Hil, Lucas! Nice Hotel, but no Water Views from your window and no phone next to the commode? I reckon, they got all the goodies on the table from MAKRO....
I've just ridden down from Chiang Mai to Bangkok today and head to Pattaya tomorrow. On the way down I had a fault code come up. Can you recommend anyone in Pattaya who could look at it. It's a 650 V Strom.
Hi, Having visited there many times myself, have you found a place to buy cannabis that you really like? How much is it per ounce and do they sell CBD also?
Looks good, definitely for the business or short term tourist trafficing through town... Not aiming for hiso tourists/visitors (maybe, as we havent seen their best rooms yet... lol)... Cheaper is available, but serviceable for temporary foreign visitors at that price range... AND across the street from Central, so very handy... Thanks for the review, Cheers...
wow this room screams luxury and design... I couldn't disagree more with you on this one! l For that price getting this level of quality is amazing....
Not compare the prices from the USA to the rest of the world. In Thailand and many other countries you can get the same standard for the half of this price.
Na" you mean they couldn't throw in any soft drinks and snacks for everyone ( room ) ? l do like the extra pillows and the rooftop pool ... I'm hooked on Blackwood Hotel because both nice and convenient and location is great !
Looks pretty good to me Lucas $70 I be in on that 👍👍 Wow the roof pool Maybe you will have to come back so we can see what the restaurant and breakfast is like
I thought thought the wardrobe and counters looked like from ikea. Also the hallway carpeting is to light and probably won’t wear well imagine someone spilling red wine.
Current rate per night for standard room is $147 USD. / $220 AUD. This hotel is definitely not comparable to the Holiday Inn express which is around 1/3 of the price. Looks good overall. Room, pool but that kids area shows that the market they are targeting. Lost opportunity for a second infinity pool like the Siam Siam. Definitely not for the 80thb beer crew.
Nice review of this new hotel which looks classy n as u say not over the top styled. Room is typically normal but balcony disappointing. Wi-Fi speeds are great. Was impressed with the rooftop pool n water park as nice designed layout and great views from up there. Most ppl visiting Patts will be budget tourists so will see how the prices go as looks like a 4 star hotel.🤔😉😎
Comparing this to Space... I'd love to go to Space as a one off experience because it's bonkers and I love the theme, but this hotel looks like one us Brits/Europeans would return to, we're not big fans of gaudy, faux-luxury decor. I love the craziness of the Riviera properties for example, but after a week or two I'd be rolling my eyes.
Looks neat but I'd not stay there, I rarely spend more than $25 on accomodation and I'm rarely disappointed so it doesn't justify the price for what I'd get.
It's an excellent review. Did you spend a night in this super brand new hotel or just pay 2200 baht for a short visit? I had a chance to stay in the newly built 4-star hotel in Bangkok. That night I didn't sleep well, as I guess the room had been set up as a showroom for quite some time. I was itchy because of the dust from the bed cover and sheet.
Are those OUTLETS the same as in USA? Or do I need to take an ADAPTER there?🤔🔌 What was that GREEN fruit on the coffee table? Looked like an oversized LIME🙆😵💫
Those outlets will accommodate American plugs and quite a few other standard plug types. No need for an adaptor. Most of the better hotels in 'tourist' Thailand have those outlets.
@@ericgrundmann8086 Thailand is 220V/50Hz. Saying "no need for an adapter" is beyond stupid. Plug a 110V/60Hz US appliance in and various awful results are possible.
Nice review Lucas. I really enjoyed The Blackwoods on Soi 7 as it was new..and your accurate review helped make my choice!

I think the hotel looks better than holiday inn express standards. Thought the bedroom was really nice as well
Hot tip! NEVER use the kettles in a Hotel room. The Chinese tend to use them to boil their dirty underwear to wash them.
Amazing location, everything of note, right on your doorstep
Thanks for great video again and say thanks to Wee for helping us to the farangvisa office few weeks ago when she did your dirty laundry :)
WOW! Amazing property Lucas.

great locations and views, but not sure i want a business class for vacation. great and honest review.

Handy for central world then onto the beach
Great report as always! Love the location.

Looks bigger and nicer than a Holiday Inn Express. (As it should be, being twice the price of the one nearby.)
Yeah another great choice in the middle of town 👍

what is the name of the hotel with the big spaceship thing on top?

The room has exact layout to centre point pattaya standard room even down to the couch. I would say it's slightly less fancy. Eg no electronic toilet.
Thought it looked familiar

226 baht or about $6
"Bit harsh" 😆 to compare it to a Holiday Inn Express.
