Only zelda game i ever finished was links crossbow training. Maybe make a video on that. Or urbs sims in the city gba .... deja vu.......?! Did u make a vid on that.
Ocarina of Time + Majora's Mask + A Link To The Past with steroids. Dark and light world, Link turns into a wolf instead of a Bunny, Midna is the "Skullkid" of the game...
Its not Ocarina on steroids tho, Ocarina had way better items, a magic meter, a two handed sword, way better writing and soundtrack, more nonlinear, and much better paced.
@@chadliterutherford9198 Ocarina of time is not non-linear, it had pacing issues as well. There's no such thing as a well paced Zelda game and only Breath of the Wild and Tears of The Kingdom are non-linear. Twilight Princess won an award for character writing when it was launched.
This was my first Zelda and I was obsessed with it. Like, I spent time sitting there, daydreaming about being in this world, using those items. Imagine using a spinning skateboard. Clawshooting your way through a weird floating castle. Midna and Wolf Link were my lockscreen for ages. To this day I want earrings that look like the ones Link has in this game. Also, it got a really good manga adaptation, unlike most Zeldas
after link learns the children are safe I felt compelled to let everyone in the village know. you aren't required to do that and you don't get anything in game for doing so but it felt rewarding nonetheless to help ease the suffering of those closest to link and to those you've grown to care about even in the relatively short amount of time spent with them such an amazing game in so many ways!
Meanwhile with the Wind Waker fans: “Twilight Princess is so bad! The graphics are too realistic and not cartoony, the story is edgy, and this game just copy’s Ocarina of Time in every single way!”
BRO. FINALLY SOMEONE THAT GETS ME. Literally I get chills anytime I hear the Hyrule Field Night theme. Words cannot describe the feeling it would evoke in me as a kid, this weird mix of chilling and awe and excitement. Ephemeral, ethereal, otherworldly. One of the most beautiful, haunting melodies I’ve heard in my life.
Majora's mask and Twilight princess have these themes that i never forgot the ost etc , skyward sword ocarina of time was awesome but my favorite games are def MM and Twilight princess for this exact reason m glad i felt that finaly someone gets me on that aswell .
You're like that roommate that only pops in every once in a while to talk about whatever shit you experienced while you were gone. Everyone's happy to see you & wants you to stay & chill, but you've got more cool shit to do & you're gone for a while again, promising more stories when you return. I'm always happy to see these videos in my feed. Always a good time.
Man, I love seeing TP get the love it so deserves. I get that nothing's gonna be for everyone, but TP is absolutely for me. Everything from its vibes, to its spectacle, to its remarkable writing... It all just hits for me. And thank you for shouting out the Fishing Hole, in particular. I so rarely see people mention it, but I occasionally boot up TP just to go there and chill. It's such a beautiful place.
shoutouts to both of you for appreciating the fishing hole. this'll prob sound goofy but once i started having a bad trip on some LSD and i had the idea to boot up TP on Cemu, and just hung out w Hana fishing for about an hour and it shook off the bad vibes like magic. that spot/minigame is peak serenity
the twilight princess map feels very connected and familiar to me. Like for example, the one hole u swim through to get to Lake Hylia from the Queen Rutela's gravesite.
I was honestly sad when this video ended. TP is my all time favorite game and I love nothing more than to hear people talk about all of the same things I love about it!
I always thought that Internet Pitstop was a man of culture. It’s nice to see someone covering my Favorite Video Game of all time. Twilight Princess is so underrated and overlooked nowadays.
@@VGDavey Everyone knows twilight princess is among the best zelda games. even little kids know that. Just because the newer games are being talked about more because theyre recent doesnt mean that the ones previous are underrated, people have praised the game for years.
picture it: you’re seven years old, you’ve never played zelda before. then your uncle brings you this game, and your world gets a little bigger. none of us were prepared for the S-tier experience we were about to be spoiled with
You perfectly described Midna, someone that you meet and hate, but grow to love, and when the time comes you finally realize how beautiful your companionship is, as you're rushing to save her life.
I also grew to love her. The only thing I would have added: it's definitely hinted that Midna also fell in love with Link by the end of their quest. Hell, the manga even confirms it. That makes it even more heartbreaking that she breaks the mirror.
another point for why the ost is great; I hear SO MANY RUclips videos using it just as background music while they're talking about other things and every time I'm like 'that's from TP!' It's very fun to hear people liking it enough to use it.
I notice the same thing with Pokémon a lot, mostly gens 3-5 and mystery dungeon. It's interesting to see when certain game ost's just kind of...become common backround music for certain kinds of video essays.
It's so weird that people criticize TP for having dark and goofy moments but that's the franchise's charm, even the darkest Zelda ever MM, has Tingle on it
Also, that's the human experience. We experience happiness, we experience sadness. Things happen to us, both good and bad, and they happen to the Hero of Twilight too.
Specifically, the game doesn't make stark contrast- it has high points and low points, but they are not directly adjacent to one another. Like the human experience- when tragedy strikes, you need time to recover, but you will feel better eventually.
@@ferociousfeind8538 Yeah, I have no idea where people are getting this whiplash from in Twilight Princess. The goofy sumo moment and the edgy cutscene were a whole 2 dungeons apart.
@@OreallyR17 Ngl I don't even get what's so goofy about sumo. Like sure, it seems a bit weird to us westerners, but it's a japanese game and to my knowledge sumo is well respected martial art with deep tradition in Japan. I hardly think it was thrown in there just for laughs, and actually alongside with the hot springs it expands on gorons by giving them actual culture.
So many good points : 1. The music when saving Midna is an emotional moment and shouldn’t be interrupted 2. The character arcs are amazing and definitely deserve that award 3. Zant not being the final boss makes sense- Midna says he’s a coward throughout the game
Best characters in a Zelda game by far and Midna is my all time favorite companion, I still remember the first time I beat the game and cried when Midna went back to her world 😂 there's no game that made me feel the way I felt while playing twilight princess
Saving Midna not being a timed event is something I don't think ANYONE realized on their play through! Everything surrounding it, especially the music, just makes it feel so urgent! You don't want to waste a single second getting to Zelda! The fact they had urgency without a time limit or penalty is just AMAZING!
To the 1st point, I played Final Fantasy X recently and the trek through Zanarkand played out how this should have: there's still random battles, but the music doesn't flinch at any point
No, they aren't amazing, and Ganondorf being the final boss is a disappointment, he offers nothing to the ending. Do something than just making him alone being the boss fight. Wind Waker had a way better Ganondorf than this trite. Zelda was absolutely wasted, and is her most boring, milquetoast self to date. Most of the bosses feel slow as snails to get through. Hell, aside from Midna, and maybe that goblin king, there are no characters in this game that I can call intentionally memorable or well written. They all suck.
“TP has no memorable characters”. I can name a bunch of characters that I remember from TP including: Ilia Rusl Colin The kids Mayor Bo Hena Iza Princess Rutla The Four Goron Elders The Postman Telma That one girl who loves bugs The Occao Those monkeys in the forest temple King Bulbin Those two yeti people That one dude who’s obsessed with rupees Etc. So many memorable characters that have a lot more depth than any character in OOT.
Twilight Princess was the first Zelda game I put effort into. The world felt so lived in and I cared so much about the story that I was hooked. I remember catching bugs just so Agitha could complete her collection, or collecting Poe souls even though they scared the living daylights out of me because I didn’t want Jovani to stay a statue. I found myself doing these things not for some reward, but because I wanted to help and looking back on it now, that’s such an amazing way to make a game.
One of the best moments in that game to me is when you meet the Zora queens spirit after saving her son and it plays a rendition of serenade of water. Oh man that shi went hard
15:08 something I've noticed about the snow peak ost is that it repeats the first four notes of the Hyrule field ost continuously. It never finishes the melody, which leaves you with a feeling of anticipation, but it never does. Instead the notes start to change from the original melody and become more discordant and eerie.
These are the EXACT reasons why Twilight Princess holds a special place in my heart. You explained it so perfectly. The music especially I've always felt such a deep connection to. Excellent video, you had me laughing and tearing up from the nostalgia at the same time.
The incredible use of Courage in the ost is so damn good it makes me feral. Like, that is LINKS theme right there. It's everywhere you go. It's in the boss fanfare. It's in Midna's Lament like a call and response. It's so incredible. You can also pet the goats!
My favorite LoZ game has always been Twilight Princess, so I never understood the amount of negative criticism it's always gotten. Glad to see a video that talks about so many of the positives and reasons why I love this game! Twilight Princess is so damn good.
@@taps_lock It wasn't always the case. Around 2006-2010, you'd be hard pressed to even have a civil discussion about TP online, because the hate against this game was strong.
The song of courage in those moments actually give me chills might be the best musical moment in the game. Also atmosphere wise don’t forget the graveyard theme bro, so so so peaceful
I think Twilight Princess is the apex of "classic" Zelda. The atmosphere, the story, the structure, the music, its all 10/10 for me and everything I want in a Zelda game. It's definitely my favorite in the series, and may be my favorite video game periodt!.
ive played almost all zelda's and yh for some reason MM and Twilight are my fave they just have something special for me personaly i love the dark thematics the sounds etc .
The game is a 9/10 for even though its likely my favorite zelda game. The only thing holding it back is the difficulty, every enemy including bosses are freakishly easy. Playing the game with only 3 hearts wasnt even enough. This likely isnt an issue for the majority of people as most people have lives and thus arent as good at games. I havnt played the wii u version btw, yall will have to let me know if hero mode completely fixed this for you
@@mystraunt2705Well i doubt you will find much challenge if you can do 3 hearts. If you do hero mode and use the gannon amibo its 4x damage i think. But since its 1 shot anyways with 3 hearts it will just be the same. HOWEVER the HD version has something called cave of ordeals, now that is very hard. I did hero mode on emulator (couldnt get gannon spoof amibo to work) I would say its worth a shot, the game might become a 10 for you. If you want spoilers its 50 floors of killing thats all i will say. The Wii version is the only game ive ever done 3 hearts on lol, not because its easy but because i played it more than any other zelda and wii game. I think im gonna have to replay it again now :D
@@lesprusegoose yes i agree the wii port is far from the best wayto play. ALSO The fact that the whole world is mirrored is such a funny solution for making Link right handed lol.
@@Moeboeh Which is a great thing for me. I may be mistaken, but I believe Twilight Princess was revealed 1 years earlier than Shadow of Colossus. One is from E3 2004 and other from E3 2005.
I can never forget the bond I felt between Link and Midna when I first played this game back in 2007. At the end, when Midna teleported Link and Zelda to safety and I saw Hyrule Castle explode, I was scared. When Ganondorf was there as the dust settled, not only was I afraid that he was undefeatable, but he also had Midna’s Fused Shadow in his hand and crushed it, and the violin sting helped reinforced that. One second, I was devastated that she was gone, and the next second, instant Guts rage. That’s how you write a main character, a title character, a companion to Link, or all of the above.
My favorite thing to do in TP is to put on the iron boots, the magic armor, and the dual hookshots and pretend I am robot link. Just stomping around, clankin cheeks.
Twilight Princess uses the whole spectrum of emotions, to paint the best picture in any Zelda game! The goofy moments beside the darkest ones, just make the world feel real. Life isn't just blues, or reds. You have your happiest memories, and your worst ones. Twilight Princess gives you those moments! The ones where you can't help but laugh, and the ones where you can't help but cry.
FINALLY, someone understands me. I kept nodding and saying “EXACTLY!” so many times during this video. You literally explained perfectly what I love about this game. Your video was also very well done, subbing now!
I love that you focused on the positives, I see so many videos that often focus on the negatives. Twilight princess is my favorite Zelda game so it’s nice to see some appreciation for it!
A point to add onto TP's Hyrule Field theme triumphant feel is the variations made between on foot vs on Epona. Brass is present and more truimphant when on Epona and empowers that feeling and makes it feel less hollow vs when you walk on foot to the Eldin province in early game. Also, I'm a Zelda Manga enthusiast and the Links getting deeper personalities always make them shift for me. TP's Link is so lucky he's the first one to get a full manga series to himself because he gets so much time to really be himself and he is A MENTAL MESS BUT ALSO A MASSIVE DORK. The small shreds of his personality displayed in the game get that proper time to shine and it shot him up to my number 1 fav Link. Overall TP's moved to 2nd or 3rd years ago but the manga helped me gain deeper appreciations for small stuff I didn't take note of in TP and reminded me why Ordon is probably my favorite Zelda opener ever despite people despising it.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who stops running and immediately starts walking when I enter the Temple of Time. It’s a place deserving of respect… even if it’s in a game :) good video IP!
Twilight Princess has some of the best music in the Zelda series hands down. Every time I listen to the Ordon Village theme I get hit with this massive wave of nostalgia. Midna is also probably my favorite companion. I feel like the dynamic between her and Link works well and got a lot of development throughout the story.
You're one of the few RUclipsrs who actually understood the purpose of Zant's character. Excellent. And yeah, Midna is definitely the best written character in the franchise, with her only competition being the BotW/TotK version of Zelda.
@@ZER0O9 She has far more character development and actual agency than any other Zelda in the franchise, and is the only one that's actually treated as a protagonist in her own right. Say what you will about the voice acting though lol (though that only applies to the English dub).
man i'm literally sitting here crying just thinking about this game. just remembering midna yelling for link to stop zelda from sacrificing herself for her is just such a raw and emotional scene. i really hope we get something with this level of care and dedication to storytelling again in the future
This whole video was nostalgic for me. Not only because I grew up playin' Twilight Princess, but because of the way the video looks, feel, sounds. I can't explain why, but the way these videos are put together reminds me of stuff I watched growin' up, just with more adult themes and topics. I love it and it makes me happy to watch these vids.
Twilight Princess is not just my favorite Legend of Zelda Game. Twilight Princess is one of my top 5 favorite video games of all time. And Midna is one of my favorite characters in all of fiction. So, you playing the intro cutscene and pointing out Midna's theme subtlety hiding in there made a chill run up my spine. Awesome video, man. Favorite I've watched in a good while.
I agree. My top 5 favorite games are: 1. Super Mario Galaxy 1&2 2. Mario Bros 3. 3. Zelda Twilight Princess 4. Wii Sports Resort 5. LEGO Batman the Videogame
Twilight Princess is still my favorite Zelda game to date, but mainly because it was the first one that I ever played. The "criticism" I see it get has always been so lost on me because I really loved all of my playthroughs of it.
I mean, the art style is aging like milk. I get that. A fair few of the items have one or two uses tops. It’s arguably one or two dungeons too long. I mean, you can kind of feel that this isn’t the direction they wanted to take and just felt pressured to basically just “do Ocarina again”, but they saw that coming and seemed to have kept the story beats they intended around the Ocarina rehash. If any of those things lead to you writing the game off you’re kind of a dumbass, but I also get where some folks are coming from. Probably bottom tier Zelda, but that’s still a top tier game, no question.
This game was my very first introduction to the Zelda franchise when I was in kindergarten. After school, I would be picked up by my grandfather and we would go back to my grandparents’ house until my parents got off work. Some of my favorite memories include sitting with my grandfather in his mancave trying to figure out puzzles and dungeons together, and then take breaks and eat at his bar. My grandfather would read every piece of dialogue in a different voice, and it would always make me laugh. I have replayed this game three times, and I fall deeper in love with it each subsequent time because it makes me reminiscent of all the wonderful memories and emotions it invokes. Your video was amazing and captured the perfection that is Twilight Princess. Thank you for making my day a little bit better. I’m going to call my grandfather now and tell him I love him. Keep up the excellent work!
That ending with Midna and the tear, true cinema right there. It almost made me cry as a ten year old when I first played it. Pretty sure I had never felt that type of emotion from a movie at that point and certainly never a video game!
Another neat touch about Zant and his reliance on the power of others is how well represented that is in his boss theme. At first, we hear his own theme, then in later stages it’s a remix between that and the previous bosses he mimics. Finally in the last phase where he has nothing left… the music becomes fast paced and chaotic, as a portrayal of his desperation and insanity. But yeah, this game absolutely slapped. Awesome video 👍
Ever since its original release, TP has ranked along with MM as my favorite Zelda games. I grew up and got into the series with OoT, but MM was the fave. I didn't mind Windwaker all that much, but admit I rejoiced when TP came out anyway. You mentioned the night atmosphere, and one of my fondest memories is standing somewhere with Epona and just staring at the way her mane and tail shimmer in the moonlight. Like. For minutes. While the night bgm played. I still do that from time to time. TP's Princess Zelda is also my favorite Zelda. The first time you meet her in this game felt so... important. And I really like her story, and how during your first play-through you kinda assume she's the titular twilight princess... until eventually you learn it's Midna. It's just a really nice story. The editing in here was once again very whimsical and fun. It's one of my favorite things about your videos. Wish that could've been me sitting with wolf link in the title screen and giving him a pat lol.
THANK YOU! You literally verbalized so much of this game that I had a hard time verbalizing to other people when they would ask me "What is your favorite Zelda game" and I'd answer "Twilight Princess". This was the first game I finished on my own start to finish and I cried at the end. You have worded and explained everything perfectly and I hope others see how beautiful and wonderful this game is. I will admit it has aged, but a lot of great games have. But I still feel the adventure I felt as a kid playing this game.
This Chapter Mark at 14:00 "Music" is what made me subscribe to the chanel. I mean- sitting next to wolf link, doing a cheesy cut from the sentence "...by the-" and have "music" written on the screen like it'd be clever or original AND have it written in PAPYRUS!? Youre my new favourite RUclipsr now. 🤩
This game has so much sentimental value , it holds many of the few fond memories I have of my mother who sadly passed away when this game reached age 3. Used to beg and plead her to let me watch the intro all the way through before she started playing. I was three when this game came out . It is one the few things I get emotional explaining and talking about with my friends. I still play this on the wii to this day , I played through it 15 times in a row during quarantine and covid
Twilight Princess was the first Zelda game I’ve ever played and i was in love since the beginning. Even loved the long intro because it was the first game I felt the world was real. The atmosphere is impecable. Ever since I’ve beaten it 3 times and still don’t get bored.
Damn the boss build-up is so spot on. I replayed the game some time ago and smoking definitely made this worse. I remember being completely intimidated right before the boss starts, then having a mediocre boss fight. It‘s alright, but the build-up definitely degrades the experience.
The fact that we had three wildly different atmospheric games back to back is pretty wild. Its pretty cool that a lot of the combat options from this and wind waker are still kicking in tears of the kingdom.
@@Anewbyss good story and atmosphere really are key. There are games with better puzzles, etc, but nothing captures the humanity in Zelda like those three. Dungeon theming? Immaculate. Atmosphere? Unforgettable. Story? Simple, maybe, but well developed. It's the small things too; in those games, you'll walk into people's homes and see soup boiling on their stoves. They make their worlds feel so real.
I just have to tell you that I loved this video so much and I felt so validated because Twilight Princess has always been my favorite in the series despite its flaws. I love the game for basically all the same reasons you do, but you pointed out some things about the game I had completely forgotten or never ever noticed. You also had ya girl in tears when you were talking about Midna's character arc and the bittersweet end of her story, because I still remember those moments of the game so clearly (even though the last time I replayed the game was back in high school) and she has a special place in my heart as my number one LoZ companion. I think you've inspired me to replay the game again once I'm finished with Tears of the Kingdom, so thank you for that and thank you as always for the love and care you clearly put into your videos! ♥
Yep, it’s the best Zelda game of all time, and I agree that Princess Midna is easily one of the best written characters in all of fiction. Mostly for all the reasons you mentioned. Her loyalty to her people, her mask of tsundere which evolves over time to her being just being honest about her feelings, the good she recognizes in other people over time. Just everything about Midna is so well written, so well designed, I want Midna to be as popular as Zuko, I want Midna to be appreciated by the whole world because in the end when Midna does her heart felt goodbye. I realize that we don’t even have her get acknowledged by Nintendo for decades. Even now the most Midna gets in terms of recognition from Nintendo is Hyrule Warriors, when I think a character like Midna belongs in every corner of Nintendo. Much like how Nintendo is so willing to put Zelda and Link in just about every corner of each of their franchises I want the same for Midna. I want Midna in Mario Party, Mariokart, I want Midna in Smash, I want Midna to have her own game like Princess Peach is getting, I want Midna to receive her own franchise dynasty just as Link has been given, I want 10 games, 20 games, I want Midna Party, Midnakart, Midna Smash. Or at the very least I want Nintendo to finally do right by Midna and give her more recognition. It doesn’t even necessarily have to be in other franchises. And sure I know in TOTK they have quite a few references to her, but it’s not her. I want not a sequel to Twilight Princess because let’s face it that’s kind of impossible and impossibly unlikely from Nintendo. But just some amount of dedication to the best written character in all of The Zelda games if not ever would be nice. Like I’m sorry but you don’t just get to not acknowledge a character like Midna, you created her you now need to deal with the fandom who loves her. And do the bare minimum Nintendo and put her character in some games. Do a flashback, do a Twilight-realm like mirror Skype call with Link, put Midna in Smash, just please for the love of the triforce Nintendo please acknowledge my Princess Of Twilight.
This channel feels like early to mid 2010s videogame reviewer/commentator youtube stuff and it honestly makes me feel really cozy. I used to live on content similar to yours back in my early teenage years. You made me feel right at home.
Twilight Princess still to me has the best soundtrack out of all the games. That boss theme that kicks in when you’re slashing your sword at the bosses is just perfection. And it has the best Lost Woods theme. I’m glad to see someone who can take a view on a Zelda game that isn’t “Ocarina of Time nostalgic best game”. Great video.
I think you're the only youtuber I've seen who uses a greenscreen in such interactiveness. Like, most times the guy just stands or sits there and sometimes points at stuff in the screen and I'm like "you could just talk over the gameplay/video and it'd be the same". You managed to put yourself into the world and give a sense to why the usw of greenscreen. Also, TP is my favourite Zelda game (my favourite game really) and I love to see someone like it as well.
I'm only halfway through the video, and man, I'm already getting hit hard by a tidal wave of nostalgia and emotions tied to my first experiences with this game. Ocarina of Time was my first LoZ title, but Twilight Princess hit the sweet spot in my brain and just did something completely magical that just cannot be replicated or replaced. Being young with no worries, just sitting in front of a TV screen in the dark playing Twilight Princess on the Wii during a snow day.
I remember cosplaying as Link at a con once, TP Link specifically, and I got into a discussion with this kid who was also into Zelda. He said his favorite game was Windwaker, which I said was a very respectable choice. I then asked him if he’d ever played Twilight Princess, to which he responded: “No... But the graphics suck!” He is very lucky we were in public or I might have gone off on a whole tirade then and there.
I have to give you credit, you've made me appreciate Midna. Twilight Princess was really an enigma to me as it came out right around the time I was old enough to actually beat video games on my own. I used to love watching my brother play when growing up but I wanted to avoid looking at any solutions to puzzles and such so I could do it on my own eventually. But lo and behold, the game gets me with the Ocarina classic at the Twilight Realm's boss key just needing you to look *up*. For some reason my wii and other discs have been cursed to simply not accept twilight princess, I moved, the game literally wasn't found for years and such and so forth, so it was this unreachable tantalizing and nostalgic memory that was fading until I emulated it several years later. And it may be the only game in the series where I feel it's not inherently fun to play... A video game to me will always be how much fun it is to interact with it, whether it's letting Mario contently sleep in the "now peaceful" Bob-Omb Battlefield or brutalizing an infinite number of demons as quickly as I can in Doom Eternal. And because of this, I have conflicting feelings about Twilight Princess. But one thing I've kind of undermined over the years was Midna. Her growing respect of Link to me felt like it should've been obvious to her from the start, I didn't understand why she wouldn't care about the Light Dwellers or why she was such a rude little imp to Link. So despite me eventually 100%'ing the game to a slight disappointment due to game design choices, you've really turned me around on why Midna herself is such a good character. Everything else you commented on is beyond truthful like the atmosphere and just liminal loneliness of the entire game and while I'd argue that I literally and figuratively grew up with Link in Ocarina of Time, I never could actually slander Twilight Princess. I'm even surprised that people have managed to call it anything other than epic, in the most honest of forms. It's a beautiful experience. And it's nice to have someone like you let everyone know about it.
i was 6 years old when the wii came out in a bundle with twilight princess. i got to go with my dad to the midnight release where we showed up and were the 10th people in line while they were selling exactly 10 wiis. it was the first time id ever been allowed to stay up so late and then i had to sit and wait weeks until christmas to open it, those weeks felt like months. definitely a memory i wont forget. that said i might have some bias that goes into how much i love this game but its one of my favorite games period.
Am I finally living through the Twilight Princess appreciation arc? After all these years, it’s really starting to get its kudos- it’s a lovely thing to witness 💕
I love the way this man puts himself into the background images and interacts with them, it rly adds to the slideshow and the vibe of each scene as he describes it
Hey man, I just wanted to say thank you for making these videos. I feel like sometimes I lose touch with the kid I used to be, and your enthusiasm and commitment to not ignoring the parts of you that make these things matter so much is refreshing. Thank you for being you, and I hope whatever you are doing now is bringing you the joy youre looking for. Happy Holidays!
This video made me realize how much of an influence Midna had on the series and especially with the character Fi. Both character's are referenced in the title, both characters go through a pretty substantial arc throughout the story that involves their friendship with Link, and both make a selfless "sacrifice" at the end of the game. Fi has gotten a lot of hate that has only recently faded away with the release of the HD remaster of SS and her role in the stories of BOTW and TOTK. Fi's one of my personal favorite characters and if it wasn't for the existence of Midna then Fi would most likely never exist in the way she does now.
the creepiest memory I have of this game is on my 1st playthrough when I was a kid. I was in hyrule Castle, it was 1 am, I was ready to beat this game. I was at the gale boomerang puzzle, and saw leaves on the ground. I switched to wolf link and went through the secret hole. when I entered the graveyard I nearly shat my pants, but I perceived onwards. the moment I literally shit my pants, was when I read a sign about the "ghosts showing you the way" or something, and then activating sense mode and seeing one of them right in front of my face staring and pointing at me. I still remember it to this day, it was terrifying lol
MARK MY WORDS: This channel is going to have millions of subs one day. I am picking up strong vibes from other great game related channels like NakeyJakey, Scott the Woz, and others, but it still has a unique style and voice. This was an awesome video, and I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Firstly WAAAHHHH I FEEL SO HEARD WITH THIS VIDEO!!! Thank you so much for this!! I loved how you edited everything lol. I wanted to add too, Twilight Princess has my favorite set of side characters. Renaldo? Love how caring he is to not only his child, but the children of Ordon Village. Telma is absolutely MOMMY. Her love for Illia like a daughter is so damn sweet. The Zora Prince feeling hopeless and worthless after learning of his mom’s death, and helping him find the courage to lead people.. Malo, for being.. Malo. GOSH I could name so many!! They are all so full of life and every design is so damn unique. 💕
Man this game holds a special place in my heart. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on it IP. I have a cousin irl named Collin with blonde hair and blue eyes who looked up to me the same way TP Collin did to Link. It felt really nice to be able to relive that and all my other awesome childhood memories playing this game.
I was hoping you'd talk about how absolutely incredible Lakebed Temple's atmosphere is, those rooms with the rushing water and lots of steam in them are among both the prettiest and coziest areas in the entire series, possibly gaming ever. I never wanted to complete that dungeon, because I was loving just being it it so much. Definitely a place I would love to be swimming around in IRL
I've just run out in to your channel, just because i saw twilight princess... and man... i don't regret clicked the video. as a MM and TP's fan as well i agree 100% with everything u said. this game saved my entire childhood (along with MM and OoT). The music, the aesthetics, the character development, almost everything in this game is pure cinema 🚬 i mean... i just know that everyone were so inmersed in the game at that point that WE ALL started to walk very slow when we entered THE fkn temple of time, because, man, you had to show some respect JAHAJAJ (18:00). i cried watching this video because it made me realized the beautiful things that used to bring joy to my days after school, being at school just thinking about how tf i would solved the puzzle when i'd get home. incredible video man, greetings from chile.
Great analysis! I grew up with twilight princess and it’s funny how opinions on certain games can fluctuate so hard. I’m waiting for the love for skyward sword to come back in.
The rebound has already happened for SS with way more people nowadays saying its got great dungeons, liking the story etc (personally, I still think it sucks lol)
The Skyward Sword dungeons were fantastic and the best in the series imo. I loved the thorough theming of all of them, especially the pirate ship and the nirvanna/hell one. Ironically, I think if it got the botw open-world treatment, people would've appreciated it more, because the world exploration was extremely stilted and just made you feel like you were just being conveyer-belted to the next dungeon.
Its such a small thing as well but I feel the culmination of Midna's character arc really hits with a quick little moment right after beating the possessed Zelda in the final boss fight. Right as Ganon is reforming into Beast Ganon, Midna floats over to link and just kinda leans on his shoulder and they both share a look that just reads as "hey nice work, ready for round 2?". Its such a delightful shift from how she was at the beginning of the game to now. Without a doubt she is the best companion character (or just character in general tbh) that we've had in a Zelda game thus far.
I don't think I've been so enraptured in a video before, AND to have someone share my opinion of TP almost perfectly? Amazing. You are a wizard of quality, sir. now I want a green screen
Midna's music both her theme and when you need to save her are peek! Fun fact, in wolf form with wolf sense actively on, Link remembers where spikes come up after they go back down in the Arbiter's Grounds. But will vanish if you turn it off
Twilight princess had me thinking about nothing but Zelda for years as a kid. I remember thinking I might not want to go to heaven if I couldn't play twilight princess
11:27 I’ve always thought the opening to this game fit perfectly with the story. It’s supposed to be slow paced. The extraordinary moments in this game are amplified by the fact that just a few days ago Link was a humble rancher and a responsible older brother.

Imagine saying "Ocarina of Time on steroids" and thinking that's an insult
The proper response to "It'S jUst oCariNa of tiMe on sTerOids" is "You really don't know what you want in life, do you?"
Ocarina of Time + Majora's Mask + A Link To The Past with steroids.
Dark and light world, Link turns into a wolf instead of a Bunny, Midna is the "Skullkid" of the game...
But Skull Kid is in the game.
I have a twilight princess mousepad, and a GameCube skin themed in TP as well😂 I’m thinking of getting a tattoo of Midna and wolf link
Oh The Manga is so great, just the scene were he loses his arm. Chefskiss 🤌 its even Darker than the game, love it!
after link learns the children are safe I felt compelled to let everyone in the village know. you aren't required to do that and you don't get anything in game for doing so but it felt rewarding nonetheless to help ease the suffering of those closest to link and to those you've grown to care about even in the relatively short amount of time spent with them
such an amazing game in so many ways!
Great too see you here man!

Kept giving me goosebumps. Its so good
Majora's mask and Twilight princess have these themes that i never forgot the ost etc , skyward sword ocarina of time was awesome but my favorite games are def MM and Twilight princess for this exact reason m glad i felt that finaly someone gets me on that aswell .

And thank you for shouting out the Fishing Hole, in particular. I so rarely see people mention it, but I occasionally boot up TP just to go there and chill. It's such a beautiful place.
the seasons mechanic is wonderful and the music and the experience of being in the boat with hana. i always have a great time there
shoutouts to both of you for appreciating the fishing hole. this'll prob sound goofy but once i started having a bad trip on some LSD and i had the idea to boot up TP on Cemu, and just hung out w Hana fishing for about an hour and it shook off the bad vibes like magic. that spot/minigame is peak serenity
the twilight princess map feels very connected and familiar to me. Like for example, the one hole u swim through to get to Lake Hylia from the Queen Rutela's gravesite.
I also discovered a cave after I blew up a rock in Hyrule field.
I was honestly sad when this video ended. TP is my all time favorite game and I love nothing more than to hear people talk about all of the same things I love about it!

picture it: you’re seven years old, you’ve never played zelda before. then your uncle brings you this game, and your world gets a little bigger. none of us were prepared for the S-tier experience we were about to be spoiled with
You perfectly described Midna, someone that you meet and hate, but grow to love, and when the time comes you finally realize how beautiful your companionship is, as you're rushing to save her life.
Seeing her go traumatized me. It's the best "worst ending" of any Zelda game.
Ohhh yeah i definitely grew to love her hehe.
Oh, i've adored her sassyness from the start. She is greate. Mean sometimes, but greate.
I see this with almost every zelda game in some form. It's pretty cool
I notice the same thing with Pokémon a lot, mostly gens 3-5 and mystery dungeon. It's interesting to see when certain game ost's just kind of...become common backround music for certain kinds of video essays.
@@VakovoSheggorri and Super Mario Odyssey. Espescially steam gardens theme

Both of them deserve love.💙🤎

@@mielipuolisiili7240 Twilight Princess gorons are just Okinawans and I love it.
So many good points :
1. The music when saving Midna is an emotional moment and shouldn’t be interrupted
2. The character arcs are amazing and definitely deserve that award
I can name a bunch of characters that I remember from TP including:
Ilia
Rusl
Colin
The kids
Mayor Bo
Hena
Iza
Princess Rutla
The Four Goron Elders
The Postman
Telma
That one girl who loves bugs
The Occao
Those monkeys in the forest temple
King Bulbin
Those two yeti people
That one dude who’s obsessed with rupees
Etc.
You know... i'm proud of you. Not a SINGLE reference to the community's thirst for Midna

One of the best moments in that game to me is when you meet the Zora queens spirit after saving her son and it plays a rendition of serenade of water. Oh man that shi went hard
I regularly sing that to myself
15:08 something I've noticed about the snow peak ost is that it repeats the first four notes of the Hyrule field ost continuously. It never finishes the melody, which leaves you with a feeling of anticipation, but it never does. Instead the notes start to change from the original melody and become more discordant and eerie.
These are the EXACT reasons why Twilight Princess holds a special place in my heart. You explained it so perfectly. The music especially I've always felt such a deep connection to. Excellent video, you had me laughing and tearing up from the nostalgia at the same time.
Same. Too bad Wind Waker fans hate this game.@lavenderelf618
Tbh I‘ve never read any kind of negative criticism against it. It usually ranks among people‘s top three?
Now Skyward Sword… that‘s a different story.
@@taps_lock It wasn't always the case. Around 2006-2010, you'd be hard pressed to even have a civil discussion about TP online, because the hate against this game was strong.

The most Vibe-iest Zelda out there. Really miss the distinct atmosphere of those linear zeldas.
You threw in that twilight bird enemy sound and my body immediately shifted into fight/defend mode. I didn't realize the effect they had on me.
“I don’t make reviews. I talk about shit I like.” Spoken like a true scholar. Truly the best philosopher of our time.
FINALLY, someone understands me. I kept nodding and saying “EXACTLY!” so many times during this video. You literally explained perfectly what I love about this game. Your video was also very well done, subbing now!
Same. I’ve subbed to him. Happy that he made a video about my favorite Zelda game.
Man, I just love the way you interact with the backgrounds and characters while you're presenting them. XD
I think another testiment to the music is how often I hear the OST in non-zelda videos. It's kind of crazy how often I hear it 😂
It was rough when it came out, I immediately hated it, but it grew on me. And I absolutely love it. I love Midna.
That’s character development!

@@RenSakoI'm sorry but the dungeon and item argument doesn't apply when every Zelda game has that same issue lmao

Best Zelda
Damn, the "Link being more human" was deep. He's psychologically not immune to his own shadow. Good call
There's a Persona 4 joke here somewhere
Majoras mask, wind waker and twilight princess right? Man those are the pinnacle of 3D Zelda series for me.
Something I've never seen people talk about is that the noises the shadow beasts make are just distorted echoes of normal sounds like bird calls
God damn did i miss this guy, his humor, and the insightful takes. This channel i swear is a literal gem.
Bro ur editing style got me almost as much as the lines. The little edits of yourself in the background were great lol
Choking up tears watching this, twilight princess made me who I am today. Thank you for making this tribute to this work of art.
39:23 "That video will be ready to release in october" looks like it's taking longer than anitcapated. Please take all the time you need fam!
I actually missed you man!
Your channel got me through a lot this year, sending you love from Egypt.
Keep on keeping on 🙏
"They took the hate that was simmering on Wind Waker and just pushed it somewhere else" is probably the sneakiest Spongebob reference I've ever heard.
But the graphics suck!”
He is very lucky we were in public or I might have gone off on a whole tirade then and there.
Your experience is so closely aligned with my own. It’s cathartic to share such a love for twilight princess. Cool to hear your takes.
Very interesting analysis. As for me, I like that part in Zant fight where he mimics the monkey and the music goes all yoinky-sploinky mix tape.
Fi's one of my personal favorite characters and if it wasn't for the existence of Midna then Fi would most likely never exist in the way she does now.
i don't care what anybody says about twilight princess it will always be a timeless classic in my heart
the creepiest memory I have of this game is on my 1st playthrough when I was a kid.
Saaaaame. I swear that ghost in your face is designed that way
Twilight princess was a big part of my childhood. I’m glad you’re giving it the love it deserves.
So many fund memories with this timeless piece. I remember sitting there and drifting off after defeating boss and hearing that peaceful OST play.
When he said "time to atart walking all slow and respectfully again" in the temple of time.. i felt that
I've just run out in to your channel, just because i saw twilight princess... and man... i don't regret clicked the video. as a MM and TP's fan as well i agree 100% with everything u said. this game saved my entire childhood (along with MM and OoT).
Twilight Princess is honestly one of the best videogames of all time. The atmosphere, the story. Incredible. Great video!
Hey zack, love your video's man
Great analysis! I grew up with twilight princess and it’s funny how opinions on certain games can fluctuate so hard. I’m waiting for the love for skyward sword to come back in.
You posted this comment 7 minutes after this 42 minutes video came out lmao
To sum it up:
Link is a character in TP, not merely a canvas.
and because he is more, the world is more,
I don't think I've been so enraptured in a video before, AND to have someone share my opinion of TP almost perfectly?
Twilight princess still my favorite, and hearing near hour of Internet Pitstop talking about how amazing it is. Just unmatched.
11:27 I’ve always thought the opening to this game fit perfectly with the story. It’s supposed to be slow paced. The extraordinary moments in this game are amplified by the fact that just a few days ago Link was a humble rancher and a responsible older brother.
