No, they aren't amazing, and Ganondorf being the final boss is a disappointment, he offers nothing to the ending. Do something than just making him alone being the boss fight. Wind Waker had a way better Ganondorf than this trite. Zelda was absolutely wasted, and is her most boring, milquetoast self to date. Most of the bosses feel slow as snails to get through. Hell, aside from Midna, and maybe that goblin king, there are no characters in this game that I can call intentionally memorable or well written. They all suck.

Playing the game with only 3 hearts wasnt even enough. This likely isnt an issue for the majority of people as most people have lives and thus arent as good at games. I did hero mode on emulator (couldnt get gannon spoof amibo to work) I would say its worth a shot, the game might become a 10 for you. If you want spoilers its 50 floors of killing thats all i will say.

Another neat touch about Zant and his reliance on the power of others is how well represented that is in his boss theme. At first, we hear his own theme, then in later stages it’s a remix between that and the previous bosses he mimics. Finally in the last phase where he has nothing left… the music becomes fast paced and chaotic, as a portrayal of his desperation and insanity.

It's number one. I love Majora's Mask, Breath of the Wild is good, but Twliight Princess is like the standard by which I judge other games. There's nothing I know that's quite like it, it just feels so full and complete, for all the reasons you mentioned.
I'll just point out a cool little thing you didn't mention. Not only is the Beast Ganon phase possibly a recreation of the Zelda 1 fight, it's also an ultimate version of the goat-stopping minigame from all the way back in Ordon, which escalated to stopping Gorons with the iron boots, to a bigger one with magnetism, then to stopping the King of Darkness with a giant magic hand.
The horseback too could be seen as a completion of horseback battles throughout the game.
It's so amazing how many little story arcs there are woven into this game. And how many and different modes of gameplay and unique experiences there are. Flying and canoing up and down the river, defending the carriage, maneuvering 3D spaces with Midna, finding the little hidden things in the overworld and even mini dungeons..
Speaking of that, you kinda pooh poohed the structure of the dungeons, but aesthetics are absolutely not the only thing they have going for them. They may have a "simpler" overarching design than other games if you really break them down to doors and keys, but that's really missing the complexity within the rooms themselves. Think about the moving parts, the holes you have to notice you can clawshot through, the scale room, the ice block puzzle.. And you were talking about how the monkey swing is just cool, but think about trying to shoot the cannonballs to the parts of Snowpeak you need them, or the linear Temple of Time where you you crawl to the end, then bring the statue all the way back, recontextualizing the rooms. They were cool dungeons in more ways than one.

The Skyward Sword dungeons were fantastic and the best in the series imo. I loved the thorough theming of all of them, especially the pirate ship and the nirvanna/hell one. Ironically, I think if it got the botw open-world treatment, people would've appreciated it more, because the world exploration was extremely stilted and just made you feel like you were just being conveyer-belted to the next dungeon.

The actual term for reusing or "interpolating" the same music in another place in a piece of media like a movie, tv show, or video game is called "leitmotif," because it reuses a "motif" in the music that is prevalent enough to be core to the experience of that media. It happens in pretty much any OST you can think of because its great at conveying messages and themes in the media.

Ironically enough, I feel like Twilight Princess feels more like a combination of Alttp and OoT with some WW and MM influences sprinkled inbetween. Even then, it still did a good job of allowing it's tone, aesthetics, and characters to stand out in ways we hadn't seen yet at the time. It's old and a bit clunky now sure, but still a beautiful game imo. I'm sad that we are unlikely to ever get anything even close to it again

It's great to see Twilight Princess get a lot more love in recent years. It was my introduction to the franchise and is without a doubt my favourite game of all time. It is the most magical gaming experience I've ever had, I really can't put it into words, no other game has gotten me so invested as much as Twilight Princess has. You're take on the atmosphere is spot on my guy, I myself could never put it into words but you just nonchalantly hit the nail right on the head. I'm gonna go play Twilight Princess now.

I love that you mostly talk about how TP makes you feel. I think so much of the discussion around TP these days is so mechanical. I actually think this is in part because of how BotW and TotK have changed the Zelda franchise. So much of the focus in those games is on the mechanical. They're fun sandboxes first and foremost - compelling stories a distant second. That's in direct contrast to the previous few Zelda titles before it. Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess pushed Zelda as an IP to have more story, more characters, sometimes to their detriment - both have notably long and "boring" intro sequences, for example. And they're about as linear as games get. It's probably true that BotW/TotK are more "fun" to play than Twilight Princess - but Twilight Princess has made an unmistakeable mark on my heart and soul, its story and characters and atmosphere something I carry around with me that inform my taste and inspire my creativity. I couldn't even name for you like half the champions in BotW. That's the difference for me, it doesn't matter how much more mechanically complex or whatever BotW is, it just didn't make me feel the way Twilight Princess and the other older titles did.

Something I've always thought about Twilight Princess is it's one of the most important Zelda games in terms of the overall franchise. If not for it's depiction of Hyrule and Link, I think the trajectory of the games and overall feel would've been different. Like I don't think we would've gotten the same Skyward Sword or Breath of the Wild if Twilight Princess was never a thing. Zelda would look very different.

I lost my copy about 14 years ago and I've missed it ever since, but the wii version I came to own from a buddy just never felt the same as the gc version. I really resonate with your sentiment for everything from the atmosphere to the world building and immersiveness, and the video itself gave me a ton of nostalgia. I wanna say
I feel like Twilight Princess doesn't just play with Western themes, I'd say it is a Western. From the slow, plodding pace of the story to the high octane action of some scenes, it is from top to bottom a Western. Link is a hick boi, he is called to action when the black hat cowpoke rides into town with his nasty gangs and kidnaps the kids. He rises to the occasion and fights with a desperate passion against foes that have him outmanned and outgunned, but not outwitted. He has 4 freakin' duels with the same black hat bastard who stole his gal. The guy our hero thought was pulling the stringes even turned out to be actually in the employ of some rich, old land-owner seeking absolute domination over the land. One of the reasons I adore this game so much is because it has such strong Western roots in its storytelling. And it doesn't even feel campy like a lot of those old Spaghetti Westerns. No, TP fits firmly alongside RDR2 and No Country For Old Men as top tier modern westerns for me.

For me, the top 5 games have always been TP, SS, MM, OOT, and WW. All of these games have held the top 5 spot for me since 2011 when SS came out. I grew up on Twilight Princess, I was 5 years old when it came out. I remember loading it up and it just completely consumed me, I couldn't put it down. Everything about the game was soo well done, people hated the slow beginning but I enjoyed it. I got my bearings, talked to people, swung my sword, shot a slingshot, got a cradle back for a pregnant woman, learned how to fish, fed a cat, wrangled some goats, and then saved a child in the forest. Really cool world building experiences that just immersed me into the game, then once the wolf section came in I was hooked.
Nothing will ever replace this game for me, the old classic Zelda formula at its peak imo. Something BOTW and TOTK wish they could attain.

I think one of the major reasons it doesn't hold up as much is since it tried to go a "Realistic" aesthetic, it dates itself quite harshly. TP was actually the first Zelda game to really get me hooked. I've always been a person that gravitates towards Immersion, atmospheric and a sense of grand adventure with great music, which is why Final fantasy is my favorite series. I tried OoT, Windwaker, and Seasons and Ages, none of them quite kept me. I would play a fair bit of them and sometimes nearly beat them as a kid. They often had a certain charm to them that I appreciated but I just didn't quite feel like it was for me, until TP. That one got me hooked and started my trend of playing all of the old games as I got older, enjoying Majora's mask but not quite loving it due to the convoluted systems.
