Great DIY videos. More Power
Best DIY channel in the whole world.
Could well be!!🤷🏼
I primarily ride mountain bikes on trails and for urban rides. Yet your video was very informative for me venturing towards Hollowtech II on my bikes. Thank you for the video. Cheers!
Joe glad you found the video helpful.
Free To Cycle what does that plastic in between the two Bearings do?
Helpful video, cheers. It is annoying to find out about the tool adapter post purchase though, thanks Shimano!
Ty for the tutorial.
Thank You
Hello Free To Cycle! Big THANK to you for your excellent fitting guide you published! Great job! Wishing you happy and safe rides! Best Regards!
Thanks!
You have obviously had time to use the Dura- Ace and I am curious to find out what you think about it's durability. BB Infinite told me the smaller bearing is not really suitable for a 24mm spindle size and that it is one of the more horrendous changes Shimano has made. It seems to be the option I will need to use in the new Titanium bike I'm having made because I don't like the look of the larger cups of the other brands in a smaller diameter BB shell. The Dura- Ace 9100 BB cups line up nicely with the diameter of the Shell.
You don’t apply more pressure when tightening? I am trying to build my own bike and I don’t know if I need a wrench with nm specifications
Thank you for the video! How do I need if I need spacers? :(
doesnt it get loose while pedalling forward , because you tighten it reverse the pedalling direction ?
is the gray stuff on the treads locktight?
can i use the bigger one, the 105 with a dura ace 7900 crankset?
again, nice video... get some heat in the shop, i am suffering just seeing you all suited up with beanie and jacket ;)
Lol.. he spend all money to bikes stuff
Which Bearing Bracket would I need to replace on my 105 crank, my numbers on it are...
BC 1.37 x 24 Road. What is the right number to order by? Thanks, Excellent video, and comments.
Shimano SM - BBR60 Hollowtech II
@@FreeToCycle Thank you very much, I replayed your youtube and I noticed the one you are using had a second number of -BB R9100, what does that number mean, is it equal to SM-BBR60?. Thanks.
It is the Dura Ace model BB.
@@FreeToCycle Thank You. Ordering my new 105 mid size crank set and pairing it with SM-BBR60 as mentioned, wish me luck. Appreciate all your videos. Glad I found them.
Great video, just bought a 2nd had Boardman Comp hybrid and looks like I will need to change BB, will the hollowtech 2 be compatible.
Thanks for the videos they really do help
I believe your bike uses a square taper bottom bracket not a Hollowtech.

Perfect cheers for that 🤛
When do you need any of the 3 spacers that came in box?
If you are fitting to say a mtb with a 68mm bb shell then you use two on drive side and one on non drive side. For a 73mm bb shell use one on the drive side only. ( assuming no funny mechs or chain devices involved)
@@FreeToCycle mine has a device fitted over the shell opening that the front derailer is mounted on. This makes the total length 76mm. So would I not use any of the spacers ?
I didnt have the right sizer to remove the old ones, so I used a pipe wrench... it worked, but I don't recommend it
If my bike isn't threaded do I have to go with a pressfit or what is the right way to go ?
Yes the BB will be a Pressfit!
Can’t get my hollowtech 2 shimano to fit into the one the bike came with
Do you have problems with this bearings?
Creaking system is the hollowtech ii.
Is the 105 crankset compatible to a pressfit bottom bracket?
Yes the 105 crankset is compatible with a Shimano hollowtech II pressfit bottom bracket.
@@FreeToCycle ultegra smbbr60 is a hollowtech ii bottom bracket?....all of shimano cranksets are 24mm i diameter?
@@saosurvive777 BBR60 is an Ultegra BB. It is for the hollowtech 2 crankset. You will also need the smaller plastic insert into the wrench if you only have the "older" BB tool. There are now at least 3 tools needed for hollowtech 2 BB's as far as i am aware.
With no tools, i managed to thread the bottom bracket, but it met resistance about 3 mm before its threaded all the way in. It is safe to use tools? Any helps is much apriciated, thanks
That’s pretty much normal with a threaded BB!!
@@FreeToCycle thank you! I finally did it!
The tool for the ultegra is garbage.. It's just plastic and cracks super easy at BB torque levels..
Garbage tool made by a garbage company.
Thank You
