Just want to let everyone know that I will be doing more SV tutorials soon! I have said this on my Twitter, so to stay up to date please follow me @tomjmccoyy! Thumbs up this comment, so all can see!
I've watched your videos from 2 years ago when I first began editing. I stopped editing about a year ago but, I recently got back into it to improve my content by watching your videos on how to edit again! I really hope that you start doing sony vegas tutorials again! (prefer sony vegas 13)
Tom J. McCoy yessss I want to get into editing :) Also, there is an option for this comment and so you can pin it, allowing it to stay on the top of the comment section :DD
who cares. I personally like to edit animations, not anime, but its really just a glorified cartoon. If they were talking about spongebob or something no one would care
you know usually it gets pretty fricken boring watching a 16 minute video but i really enjoyed this and you showed/described how to do the tutorial really well (:
Sorry I know this is late but if anyone is watching this still, instead of doing all the event pan/crop settings for each clip. Just hold in Ctrl and select all the clips, then right click them and then "Paste Event Attributes" so it copies the settings to all. Saves a lot of time, enjoy!
I just wanted to express my satisfaction that you start your video with the effect you want to explain. Surprising how little RUclipsrs do that actually.
Don't apologize for being thorough. With these kinds of things, you kinda have to, and thank you for doing that. It's a lot easier to understand rather then some kid showing you without talking and zooming through it in like 4 seconds.
Thanks for the tutorial, found it very helpful. Oh, and as a note regarding 8:06 there are literally dozens of countries that write and read right to left around the world haha :)
dude u just made my editing skills go waaaaaaaaaaaay up and above since i was struggling a lot with the time phasing and transitions because something always felt off. thanks alot!
Just started learning Sony Vegas, this tutorial is really helpful. However, just to be sure, adding velocity to a clip recorded in 60fps, say you'll go from 300% to 50%. Then it's gonna come out at 30fps, because you turn it down to half the speed of the original clip, hence the downgrade in fps, am I right? Sorry if my wording is clumsy, non-native speaker here :p
My reply might be late but if you are still reading this: 300% of 60 would mean it will speed it upto 180fps then dropping to 50% from there would mean 90fps. The percentage depends on what the starting point is.
MotoBlizzard doesnt really matter. Your eye wont catch the fps. It will look proffesional. I edit on 20 fps and its still not visible but im a getting a pc now so im ok.
Dude i love you !!!! your tutorials are simple easy and quick. !!! please never stop what you do i love what you do !!!! and if one day you stop youtube i think i will manifest to create a new law that makes impossible for you to stop youtube so i can continue learning from you !!! i was begginer in sony vegas i knew how to do simple things like add music etc... cut things etc.... but now i know a lot more !!! THX DUDE !
this is sick, thanks for making this. definitely gonna be using this in my skate edits. but, i have a question unrelated to this particular effect, at the very beginning there are some bcc plug ins in your video fx window, where did you get them? i cant find them anywhere.
I got so excited when i found this video!! the fact you're also using svp 10 made it 1000% easier and you took this at a speed perfect for me, and my transitions look awesome!! :D now I gotta go watch your video on bumps and flashes...
Thank you SO MUCH! I thought only AAE had this, and was gunna try and learn all that crap all over again, but you've saved me so much time and effort. Thanks and I'll definitely be liking and subbing. Happy editing!
Holy shit Tom I just subscribed to you after watching your video on a fractal. And then you post a tutorial I've been searching for on RUclips for over a year ily.
Thank you so much! I didn't need to really learn what you're are teaching, but I learned something else through it and I've spent a good 2-4 hours looking for it! Plus, I learned something else really cool too and I found some good music!
NXVA建築家 you're going to come on my channel and try to tell me what to do when I don't even know you? I really don't care who "invented" a crop. I made this for people who have questions, not a history lesson. Get off my channel or be blocked. I will not stand disrespect. My channel is for loyal and genuine subscribers.
^^ im not subbed dont worry, i was just linked a guy who makes tuts on something and credit another random guy for it who actually copied it without even naming the original guy ^^Youre the one lacking respect here
Thank you tom :) I love all your tutorials and videos man. I remember the first video I saw from you was adding black bars! You are my favorite editor man
This is a lot of stuff but it's definitely worth the extra time watching. I didn't know you could change the shape of the velocity and I didnt know what the extra options when you right click a key frame were for
Dude, Your tutorials are amazing, and that effect with velocity is so clean and nice, thanks alot, (and your friend) keep it up man u deserve more subs.!
Thanks for this awesome tutorial! It will help me a lot and I hope you're doing more tutorials in the future because you explain everything pretty nice ; )

I like to make fanvids and I've always wondered how people make those dope transitions, well... now I know, thanks so much, and I see there's more cool stuff recommended I think I'll be taking notes on a bunch of your videos now
Thank you! This is what I've been looking for and how to do. Cause I see everyone else do it in their edits so this is something I want to have under my belt. Thanks!
Im new to Sony Vegas and this really helped, like you explained it nicely, I subscribed and your now my go-to guy when I need help working with this stuff. Thank you
I really thank you for taking time doing this tutorial. It's kinda great help for a beginner like me ❤ Good job on this and on your previous and future tutorial blog ☺
good vid, like the creativity. Tip: If you're gonna do the same thing to all 3 clips copy the clip you did all the work on, right click on the clip you want to do next, then select "paste event attributes". (ittl be right under "paste") Idk if ittl work with the velocity but it will work with Event pan/crop, It saves crazy amounts of time and energy, give it a shot.
just a tip: a quicker way then redoing the velocity for each clip is right clicking and hit copy then right click and hit "paste even atributes" on all the clips you want the velocity on :D (same thing forpan and crop)

Chipotleh :] yes same i understand everything now
I just watched a 10 minute ad before my own video...wtf...
Hey on your vegas when you right click and it bring s up the options is normal size on my vegas 12 it was normal and now its bigg and ugly please help
huhhhhh
You right click on a clip and the options come up you can see all the options I have to scroll down the option bar it huge :(
holy fricking crap i use the same exact method on my velocity. i never knew it was popular.. :/
HOW LOW DID YOU PUT THE GREEN LINE ?
Was making an amv recently, note to anyone who wanted to know, 50% is the best velocity (instead of 10) for most animes.
Weeb
thanks!
fuck off JayHD
who cares. I personally like to edit animations, not anime, but its really just a glorified cartoon. If they were talking about spongebob or something no one would care
thank you >.
"It looks kinda amateur, but we're about to make it pro." *laughs*
*Self Doubt* _has left the chat_
you know usually it gets pretty fricken boring watching a 16 minute video but i really enjoyed this and you showed/described how to do the tutorial really well (:

Sorry if my wording is clumsy, non-native speaker here :p
I suppose you're not wrong, but I would look at it more as using the same frames per second, but only using half the speed.
My reply might be late but if you are still reading this: 300% of 60 would mean it will speed it upto 180fps then dropping to 50% from there would mean 90fps. The percentage depends on what the starting point is.
