That Spanish train station is so beautiful.
Agreed!
Right!! I'm sure it could make money as something else
@@AdrenalineJunkieXL video said it was being redeveloped as a hotel.
Hotel and train station would be awesome. Could be a little hub of tourism and local business.
@@AdrenalineJunkieXL American is spotted
"You forgot [insert building name]"
You'll cover some of them in part two I'm sure. ;)
Berlin BER Airport lol
@@davewagner5206 good one ! xD
Wonderland Amusement Park, China planned to be the largest Amusement park in Asia , Mirny Diamond Mine, Eastern Siberia, Russia and Willard Asylum, Willard, New York. Abandoned Amusement parks and Asylum houses are seriously creepy AF.
Fukushima exclusion zone in Japan honorable mention. Great to see something different on here guys. Don't get me wrong, your usual videos are great, but this was a nice change of pace.
The subway station should be repurposed. With such a fantastic interior it should be made into an art space, bar or restaurant. Would be amazing!
The tracks are still in use, just not the station.
Line 6 trains still use the loop that goes through the station
Put a weatherproof and soundproof bubble over the tracks (assuming they can’t be buried deeper) and create some interesting stairs, mezzanines, ramps, glass elevators, etc to integrate the interior of the loop with the generous exterior perimeter.
@@paulinbrooklyn Now that, would be amazing.
Film set of the 1900's but if a movie is set in the late 2010's.
I Know nothing about the building industry but love this Channel, always informative and always top notch presentation, Well done folks!
That subway station in NYC should be refurbished. I think it could be used for something, like, for example, an art space.
We agree! Great idea.
Cities & Skyscrapers What a fantastic idea!!
Fantastic beasts too
Cities & Skyscrapers I’ve seen a semi recent VIDEO (not lame stock photo) and it looks to be in real great shape as is.
What about using the space for something useful? Like housing the city's homeless. Dont you think theres enough art galleries in NY, and not enough homeless shelters?
I never realized until recently just HOW HUGE that "hotel" in Pyongyang is. Taller than any building in Western Europe I believe, and far wider than anything that comes close. Gargantuan indeed.
Crazy isn't it? How can something that big in the middle of a city be empty?
They should take the American approach to giant shiny pyramids in the middle of cities and turn it into a fishing supply store (or whatever the Juche equivalent thereof would be)
That North Korean tower looks like it came straight out of the future.
Retrofuturism
god-dammit, why do folks keep referencing that same frickin' year? (I swear, i see this e v e r y w h e r e )
infra white You mean 1984? If so it’s from a dystopian novel by George Orwell. People reference it to criticize oppressive Central governments that surveil and use propaganda on their citizens.
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nineteen_Eighty-Four
More like it came from space
something godzilla would destroy in a movie
The B1M clips rarely disappoint. So disappointing to see such architecture left behind. Especially that Spanish rail station. Glad it’s being repurposed
Such a beautiful building and one the screams out to be renovated, I mean the building the surrounding environment everything it's such a shame when buildings fall this way
Excellent video/production, as always. I can’t imagine the creepiness of Pripyat IRL.
You can visit it, they do guided tours
The Soviets could throw up a functioning city just like that. Its impressive.
I know man.. they could film a crazy ass psychological thriller / suspense movie here!! It'd be so mind fucking
ABANDONED buildings! My favourite topic, it’s very interesting to see that regardless of how much us humans can build and achieve, in the end, mother nature will always come back to take what belonged to her, and it usually does so in the most spectacular way!
God I love this channel! Not an architect (but do love old and historic buildings), know nothing about construction, and couldn't draw a blueprint for love nor money. Yet, I'm fascinated by the wonderful information given here and thoroughly enjoy the top drawer execution along with Fred's professional voiceovers! Looking forward to the next one!
That's Fred's voice ?
@@haleemahsaida9772 Yes, that's Fred's voice.
@theB1M with these quality you easy hold up with the "big guys" like national geographic. Very very good. I like it. Greatings from germany.
Bauernkind 85 How? They only edit the videos, they dont film them....
Bauernkind 85 I agree!
Greetings from Atlantic City New Jersey USA.
I love that you put sources on your pictures
Of course!
@@TheB1M please list all the music tracks you used in this great video...especially the first and second one!!
I love your selection choices. Some I've heard of, others I haven't. It'd be awesome if you guys turned this into a series you do monthly.
The music suits each video so well! Keep up the great work and high quality videos!
Pleasantly surprised the over used pictures and video of decay of Detroit buildings were not in this video. Thanks for all the awesome work you guys do, B1M.
Detroit is slowly coming back to life which is a positive for that city.
There’s even a lot of abandoned places that cannot be legally demolished due to heritage listing/protection but they might just look abandoned because of the owners not having the money to maintain the property and nobody wanting to buy the property! However sometimes abandoned places of high historical significance like the ballroom in Flinders Street Station in Melbourne Australia are discovered again and beautifully restored so they can be possibly used again in the near future! Also City Hall Station is still being actively maintained today and is still open for public tours so it’s still semi open today as a tourist attraction as a preserved historical structure! :)
You know, there is something about abandoned buildings that I love, but never really bothered to search for more. Thank you for reigniting my drive for this (btw nice editing).
CircleNoob101 you ought to look up channels like The Proper People and others, they do what is called Urban Exploration where they explore abandoned buildings and sites. Most of their videos start off with a brief history of the site they are visiting. Cool stuff
@@thecaninestingray313 Thanks for the recommendation, will definitely check them out.
it's always a pleasure to watch a video posted on this channel. thanks! greetings from Romania
"Fifty thousand people used to live here. Now it's a ghost town."
the sound track in this video drives chills down my spine
In a good way?
Exactly what music track should be.... augmenting the video.... not distracting from it or competing with voice-over
This was super interesting to watch! Thanks guys for the awesome work again!
I love that you put sources on your pictures!
There's also the weird space-ship like mountain parliament thingy in I think Poland... It's eerie, especially when it's covered in snow.
I went to the Nicosia International Airport in Cyprus, it was really a breathtaking and heartbreaking view
Always fascinating.
Thank you for posting.
Love this channel, quality videos and very interesting topics. Much love
Superb video. The way it was presented was excellent and the title of video on the stairs in the beginning was an awesome touch!
Wow! This has been one of your best videos to date. Thank you for your brilliant content.
an excellent topic, and very interesting, well told as always!! thanks for posting
Everything in your videos is high quality. Keep up the great work!
This channel encapsulates video examples of all the articles I stay up all night reading, all while being read to me. Amazing.
Incredible as always! Already longing for a second part
Nice. I've always liked some abandoned structures, because I thought they had a kind of story to tell, from the time they were built, to the time of abandonment and the cause behind it. With this vid, I think you just hit on why the whole "beauty of decay" aspect resonates with me. Well done and thx for posting.
Very nice work. I follow a couple of channels that focus completely on abandoned structures and you have done an excellent job for the ones you covered.
Your videos are beautifully done and fascinating; the best possible use of RUclips. Thank you!
You keep surprising us with great content!
B1M has the best narrators on RUclips.
Thank You!! Ps. There’s only one 😉
Great video!! I love the first one about the New York train station. So happy its been turned into a tourist venue. Thanks for sharing this and keep them coming!!
Such a great channel.. Thank you for creating it.
Fantastic production quality. The BGM totally fits the creepiness. The Spanish station is a gorgeous piece of work.
I thought the Buzludzha Monument may have got a mention. Very iconic abandoned building. There are so many abandoned buildings and resorts worldwide you could spend days watching the videos that people have posted of them.
Great as always! Nice to see a deferent theme thid time 😱😄
Fantastic as always. Didn't know about most of these.
I can meditate to your voice and as usual excellent job guys.
@The B1M Great video as usual. If possible, would be great if you can do a case study on the Opal at Sydney Olympic Park in Sydney Australia. Would love to see you take on the recent collapse of the new apartment building
Nice videos every Wednesday.
Thank u. The b1m
What an extraordinary and haunting video. Top work again :)
Awesome. All of your videos are excellent. I am familiar with some of the buildings you mentioned. Were some of the opening shots taken from the Packard Factory in Detroit, MI.? I was hoping to see more of it on the list. The skybridge that connected two buildings, across the street from each other, has fallen down. Very sad to see these buildings go to waste.
I was in Pripyat (amazing, unbelievable, once in a lifetime trip!) last year and actually all residents were temporally re-homed all over the former USSR, not given a magically appearing house. They evacuated 50,000 people in less than 3 hours! They where put up in strangers homes/ on farms for months. Even then only those high enough in the "party" were given new homes.
Incredible stories. Magnificent video.
Easily becoming my favorite channel. Thanks for all the amazing work. ❤️ From Thailand. If any of you have channels suggestions on art and architecture, would love to hear from you.
Another quality, informative piece of content team!
Thank you!
"Dubbed the Titanic of the mountains." Well I could've told you how that was going to turn out.
lol I was thinking the same thing
Bravo! Thank you very much!
What is the soundtrack title? i kinda like it
BUMP! @The B1M please let us know what the music used on this is!
Respect and love very good information to know.
Great stories for new generations to capture such devastating events. Thanks.
Maybe make a video about "The first station" in Jerusalem? It has a rather interesting backstory and it is a good example for a restored abandoned structure.
Most excellent. Well presented and good content. Thanks from Florida’s Space Coast
Love this channel. Greetings from Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹
Are you really from Trinidad and Tobago?
I enjoyed this video particularly because I'm fascinated by dereliction and decay of the built environment.
Great history lessons along with the buildings.👍
Subway sure changed a lot. Everything is fresh and clean now
Man i love your videos they are so informative, entertaining and savvy i could watch them all day ..don't stop your fantastic work. Fred you speak clearly and slowly and your British accent helps make it more easy listening rather than some fast talking American woman's voice .. it makes a difference in my opinion... Thanks for your videos which im happy to share with my Facebook friends anytime.
Thank you B1M for another well crafted and informative video. I'm always so impressed by the quality and the originality of the content. You made my day! Thank you for posting. :-)
Thank you SO much!!
There are so many abandoned buildings all over the world, this episode could easily be one day long.
Narrowing down the shortlist took AGES. It helped that we wanted each building to have an interesting story behind it and to still be in a state of abandonment.
Like always excellent content can't seem to get enough of that voice
An eerily lovely video. Such a genuine topic. Last week i saw an abandoned train station in Punjab,Pakistan built for a specific purpose for trains to bring construction material for a barrage being built nearby in 1960s. And after the completion the structure of station still remains an eerie reminder
Where is it exactly...and can public visit it!? I'm from Lahore Pakistan!
That was very good. Revealed some new places to me.
Another good quality video, cool background music!
Thank you 👍👍
amazing video as always
Mind bending to see buildings frozen in time! It's like stepping in a time portal to go back!
Thank you for your insight as to our world that we live in. I have lived in New York for a few years and I have never taking a tour of the Old City Hall Subway Station that is available to do. And yes, here in Chicago we did have old small train stations for the downtown retail companies that would move of their supplies..But many of the downtown retailers stopped using those small trains and stations. One of our best host of a great PBS show here in Chicago is Geoffery Baer. He has made about 15 or 16 videos of Chicago. Chicago's architecture is one of the best in the world. Geoffrey Baer and your show here on RUclips have been so informative about the way we as human beings live. Thank you so very very much..
Some of these were featured on a show on the science channel "Mysteries of the abandaned". However, I like these pictures a whole lot better. Great video as always.
High quality and informative video as usual. Pripyat is a very sad story though. So many people's lives uprooted without warning.
@The B1M You forgot *Ciudad Real Central Airport*
Would love to see a video on towns/cities that were once great but now gone... I'm sure there were quite a few 1900's that by the turn of 2000 were no longer relevant
Again amazing video so enjoyable!
am d the once great city sad to see so many buildings left
@am d Detroit is back so yeah
Super well done!
you guys always have such good quality content !!!!!! i love it
Thank you!!!!
Finding this channel made changed everything for my RUclips experience. I love it. Great video!
That caranac is so classy glad they are going to keep it up its a cool design.
This was my favorite video of yours so far
Thanks!!
Facinating. Thanks.
Your best video yet!
Thank you so much! 👍
Indeed eerie and captivating.
Great video! Michigan Central Station is an interesting abandoned building as well.
Music was on point today 👌
Beautiful!
Knew I recognized the City Hall station. When you said movies occasionally use it, Looked up Fantastic beasts and where to find them and a part in the movie took part there
Oh man this Video was dope
Did we get the pronunciation of New Orleans right??
The B1M yep nice job, although some locals give it one hell of a slang for “n’alins”
I’m from New Orleans. Your pronunciation was pretty good. I love your channel by the way.
Yes, but not for Slavutich
Daft question, considering it's actually La Nouvelle-Orléans, right.
pretty good
If you are going to be making another video on iconic abandoned buildings, have a look at Niagara hydro projects. Those are absolutely fascinating from engineering and historical angles!
Stunning content
ruclips.net/video/hyDU0-9vfso/видео.htmlsi=WpB3RMNmCD-NSSb5
As always a beautiful and concise video from an consistently awesome channel. Although you could have made the title of this video "Perfect locations to shoot a horror film" lol.
Wild that such turn of events can throttle man.
Good one, B1M!! N'orleans is hard for me to pronounce too. [N'aleans?] I should ask my neighbor, she was there for the storm, and goes back for the anniversaries. I think my favorite is the Pyrenees train station. It almost looks like a new roof..? [great music too!]
Thank you for posting this video. I found your report on Pripyat fascinating. I watched the TV series Chernobyl. Amazing.
You should do more of these! Make it a series :D And if you do, please lookup Bangour in Scotland, a giant abandoned mental hospital!
I hadn't really ever thought that yall would make a video about abandoned buildings
Thank you.
