      "That Quantam of Solace Hotel is a real place!"
      Pretty much all later bond movie center pieaces are real places. They usualy take a brand new building and make it edgier, often changing the context of the building, but keeping the actually building pretty much as it is.
      The rediculas ice base supposedly in island in Die another day is actually a the eden project in the UK.
      The giant dish at the end of Golden Eye is the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico.
      Its pretty much this way in every bond movie. It open up in a remote location. Then goes to a center London location, then goes to a turist trap, and then end in a exotic remote location

    Seeing you talk about the Sphinx Observatory reminded me of when I used to live in Switzerland and my school took a trip to Wengen during the winter. We ended hiking up to the Restaurant Eigernordwand and besides the fact that I had a mind blowing realization that I had ended up eating at the restaurant that I had spent hundreds of times passing by while playing Gran Turismo 5, Hiking to the Eigernordwand in the dead of winter with absolutely dead cold freezing temperatures and snow coming down, it was like only something you'd expect to experience in a video game. The only thing comparable I could think of was like the first time I had to climb High Hrothgar when I played Skyrim as a kid for the first time, minus the troll of course. Switzerland is truly an otherworldly place, nowhere else on Earth like it.

    The Svalbard Seed vault is hardly remote! It is located only a few miles from the thriving town of Longyearbyen, which has a permanent population of over 2000 people, as well as a functioning International airport with regular commercial flights

    • @vald.1617
      @vald.1617 2 года назад +12

      I think he probably included it because it was designed to be remote and, although it's relatively close to civilization compared to other things on this list, it's still fairly far away that it's no longer under threat of direct bombardment, and the vault itself is built to withstand virtually anything that doesn't directly damage it.
