KD never hid her sexuality. People didn't know how to deal with a lesbian woman who didn't care if we all knew if she was or wasn't gay. She had no reason to do so. Her talent surpassed their hatred.

This, & the realization that millions of people around the world were focused solely on her, moved me to tears. (& I'm not a crier.) It was the Lesbian invisibility thing, that got to me. I'll never forget that night.

Remember seeing KD perform in a little motel on the outskirts of Edmonton and got in touch with her manager ( Larry Wanagas) to have her perform during Klondike days at Westin Edmonton and she packed the place. Sony music guys came to see her there and the rest his history.

Ah K D Lang's music carried me through tough times and good times also. I love all her music. The first time I heard her sing was from a show she was a part of I think it was an old church. She sang "lock stalk and rear drops" and also sang a Loretta Lynn song with Roseanne Cash. I was into heavy metal back then. That performance stopped me in my tracks. At that point I needed to know who she was! And wanted everything she recorded. My friends were confused . But I proudly played the music loud. Through breakups ,and having love and losing love,through attempted suicide,all ups and downs you're music kept me together . Thank you Miss Lang .hugs to you

Ah K D Lang's music carried me through tough times and good times also. I love all her music. The first time I heard her sing was from a show she was a part of I think it was an old church. She sang "lock stalk and rear drops" and also sang a Loretta Lynn song with Roseanne Cash. I was into heavy metal back then. That performance stopped me in my tracks. At that point I needed to know who she was! And wanted everything she recorded. My friends were confused . But I proudly played the music loud. Through breakups ,and having love and losing love,through attempted suicide,all ups and downs you're music kept me together . Thank you Miss Lang .hugs to you
