I agree with you, i jumped into watches and realize in the automatic world they are all the same, and came down to earth and back to casios. I do like the 5610u and most under 50$ ones
Plus one with “I don’t view myself as a collector of watches, even though I have a large collection of them”. Ah, the subtleties we come up with to justify our sweet illness 😂I’ve had this in my Amazon cart for idk how long. I’d like the all black one, which is 40€ currently (too expensive, I think) and I’m not convinced with the cheaper alternative in faux-rose gold (currently at 26.68€). Thanks for this video!
You're hilarious. A watch psychiatrist. I agree with you - 40 is too much for the black. From pictures I like the black with the gold border (F-201WA-9AVDF) best.
That should be the goal. To one day buy your last watch and to be content with what you have. Very few people get there though! The F201 only recently came onto my radar as well when a friend reviewed it and its a pretty great piece!
The casio w-213 is better than the f-201, it is basically the same but with better light and 5 bar, a great alternative and for me the perfect economical casio. Greetings from Argentina!
Damn you - I had to buy another one. I'm interested in seeing how large it wears. The 201 is so small and comfortable - the 213 looks bigger. We shall see. Thanks for watching.
Great review , one negative for me would be the painted Casio finish that always wears off , interestingly the army green f-91 (which I love ) has green plastic below to hide the wear. Have a great new year
The blue and green, (and of course black) F91s are solid coloured plastic and not painted. There’s 2 silver versions of which the F-91WM-1B is solid but possibly the F-91WM-7A is silver painted - it has a much smoother finish. It’s all very interesting.
I just ordered one for work. It's low key and more important, a CT which suites my needs. The alternative to the F-91 is the 217h. But no CT so it won't work for me at work.
You had me at "looking to find the perfect watch". I seem to be in the same boat with the slight difference of swapping F91W for a W86. I'm not a huge fan of the colour scheme and the limited feature list though, so I'm on the lookout for perfection!
I want a W86 so badly, but they're not available in the US, and I dont like to to pay import shipping... I agree that the F91 is very slightly too small and bet the W86 hits the sweet spot.
In my opinion, almost 40% of the display is filled with info that I do not need. Yes, WS-1600H and AE-1300 may be able to solve some of the shortcoming as learned from this video but sometimes when I am wearing it, I am asking myself, is the info from the 40% display relevant to my daily work ?
Dude - no way on the alarms.. that would take 20 minutes to set up, and be good only once per day. No thank you :). the countdown auto-repeat from @johnfroes729 is a better option, but doesnt give you the granularity.
I love the F-91W, a great beater choice. But I've got to say, a slightly bulkier version of the watch with better legibility, a countdown timer, 5 alarms, a 10 year battery life, and a better backlight is a better value for money. Is it a little uglier and not as angular as the F-91W? Definitely, but even then, its functionally much better.
have you considered this alternative : the Casio W-96H ? I personaly prefer the W96 : it's slightly more readable and it came in different colors (red, orange, blue). Sadly it has been discontinued, but it still can be found on ebay and other commercial sites.
@@manifoldz on the casio European shop there is only one model (color) theoretically available but it is sold out. Don't know if it is officially discontinued.
I guess if you're warmup, cooldown, and every interval and rest is the exact same, then a repeat timer would work. But that's not the case for anything I do. I mostly use the repeat timer as a crude reminder to keep checking on something (Watch the roast, check on the kids, scrape the wood glue off the butt joint). But each of these would benefit from individual setting. If I needed real repeat interval timing, I have the WS1300.
Personally, I think either would be fine - it's just preference. That said, the W217H is basically an upgraded F-91W with much more wrist presence. I would start there. If you want larger than that, try the AE1500WH or plenty of G-Shocks out there. Thanks for watching.
I might end up buying one for my collection but I've already found the perfect watch for me, it's the F-91W. Looking at those two watches together the F-91W looks far nicer in my opinion. I understand the points you make though and your pursuit of the perfect watch for you. I'm lucky because I've already found my zenith in the watch world.
I agree that the F-91 is prettier (if I was going to hang a painting on my wall, it would be the F-91w), but the F201 has some real functional improvements in light, timer, readability, and 5 alarms for almost no case size increase.
Beauty is subjective, but I concur that most people would say it's not quite as classic as the F-91. But we're talking about digital watches, you're not trying to show-off to the world. Folks that wear these proudly have self confidence; any Embarrassment is on you.

Thanks, I appreciate you agree with the philosophy. It's also my way to avoid a 300 watch collection that never get worn.
@@manifoldz Yeah that's the thing. As the saying goes... Less is more! Have a great day!

Wow - learn something new everyday, thank you Brian; I would have never known that. I don't have the green one, but it's certainly on my wishlist.

It’s all very interesting.
The slightly bigger font, countdown timer and light improvement are winners. Also the girl in the thumbnail is a 10.
Bo Derek single-handedly sent many a young man into puberty.
Just found my "winter wear" Casio.
Thank you.
The more I wear it, the more perfect I think it is. 5 Alarms really is a usable feature to me.

Look at the F105W.
WS-1600H is what you need.
That's a great one, but for me, it's too large and complex for it to be my grail watch.

5 alarms can be used as 'slightly modified' pomodoro method : 30min, 10min, 30min, 10min, 30min, after that take note and rest longer than 10min.
You could use the countdown mode for that

Too funny - that's my next review (stay tuned)... Are you sure it's discontinued? If you can find a citation, I'll give you credit!

Is this channel still active? Really missing your point of view on the Casio catalog. What do you think of the new MQ24-5B?
Thanks for kicking my butt - new video uploaded. Is the MQ24-5B a real model? I can't find online.
You really don't need a casio watch. They just offer too much.
Great video
50M WR is needed to be a perfect 10 for me.
I heard their post breaks off.
I wish either would look more at home on my 7 1/4 wrist. LOL

The W96H has good real estate.
The w96 does make very good use of the space, but the F201 kicks its butt.
its inferior to F201, lacks functions
I can't find online I need one can I get link
I'm assuming you're ex-US....they're pretty easy to find here. www.amazon.com/Casio-Classic-Quartz-Resin-Casual/dp/B07RSQFY8Q

You're in denial mate lol. You're a collector just like the rest of us.
Ha. Fair enough, you're probably right.
It's Amazing that watch collectors would buy such an Ugly Watch !
I would be embarrassed to wear this thing . Does it play Music ?
