    This particular suit was sold Jan of 2009. It was never intended as a military product, it was never intended for war games, it was never intended for paintball and it was never intended for airsoft. I built this suit to hunt in. It has out performed any winter camo or snow ghillie it's been put up against thus far, and the revisions are only making it better.

    Wow, that would fool any animals sight, at which point, it just depends on their next primary sense, smell. This would work great in the northern states, especially areas where there is pine, put that suit in a box of freshly cut pine branches for about a week. Hunt in an area where there is pine, animals won't smell you. I've done this with my hunting suit, had deer less than 15 ft from me, I was sitting at the base of a pine tree! Using camo and natural scents work, no scent cover/killer.

      Todd Klekotka but if your hunting deer, you have to trigger 2 of their 3 senses to make them flee

    Ive been doing this for a LONG time, and I've never had a white tail or a coyote try to track me by my footsteps. You must be referring to use from a soldier or toy soldier. In either one of those instances, you'd have to be a dips hit to try tracking an individual by following their footprints. That'd be an excellent way to walk right into an ambush and if it were a sniper that you're following...you'd never see it coming.

    Thanks man. If I can get some free time before the snow melts, I'm going to do a better video. Something showing the suit with better video footage as well as explanation of it's purpose.
    It's not for the military and it's not for the airsoft/paintball crowd. I use these to hunt with. I designed it to hunt with.
    People that want to make their own for their own purpose are entitled to do so, but that gives them zero ground to offer up suggestions. If you want to, just make your own.

    Real show of skill there, rarely seen a person pull of that many "spot-me-if-you-can"-scenes successfully.
    Thought I had you narrowed down many times; every single guess was wrong though :)
    Having never hunted game I can't speak to how effective it is or isn't, but I know one thing.. For hardball/airsoft... That suit would be the envy of every guy who ever had the thought of playing as a sniper :p
    Amazing job mate, very good! :)

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  11 лет назад +1

    The 2nd reason would be that 98% of over-whites are made of some kind of cotton or poly blend that is not waterproof and snow actually freezes to it, making its weight increase exponentially each time you use it.
    The 3rd reason is that most are not made of any kind of ripstop material, which means going over, under or even being around barb wire or most branches greatly compromises your materials.
    The suits I make, perform at a level unmatched by anything available commercially.

    @Wolfdemonmaster Thanks a lot. What people don't realize is that most of these clips have me within 10-20 yards from the camera.
    I'll be doing another video this winter on some flat prairie, all done in HD footage with my newly designed suit. This time I'll have my rifle with me and I'll be between 50-100 yds out. The range most coyote shots are taken.
    Regardless, if this was meant to be a military suit, or a life and death situation suit....you'd be hard pressed to find me from 800 yds out.

    @Youngmarine0109 had a polyester base suit i got for Chirstmas one year. Very not good at all for snow since it will stick, and freeze and melt and stick and freeze. Took it all apart and built a waterproof ripstop suit over the top of it. Attached a net just like with any other woodland ghillie, and made 3d attachments for the back and legs.

    i said black OR brown. its your choice. i own 4 ghillies (building 5th) but we dont have snow here in dalmacia and it was just a suggestion. never did overall ghillie (simply too hot for 25 °C) never did a white ghillie suit. didnt know this isnt your terrain. should put that in description... the reason i use a few blacks(or dark browns..) is when i break in my ghillie black fades in, it blends in tan and lighter
    browns. u did great. happy hunting

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  13 лет назад

    @nichaaron best part about mine is that because of the material used..NO SNOW, ICE or WATER will stick, collect or freeze to the suit. I agree that this is the biggest problem with trying to use traditional ghillie material that is comprised of some kind of string, jute or cotton based material. It simply WILL NOT WORK PROPERLY in snow. Mine does.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  13 лет назад

    @TheLastBob1 it's actually two cows but one is facing away, the other is about another 100 yards down range and slightly quartering, so it looks extra tall.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  12 лет назад

    @zacthebold 5. Recoil reduction provided by a suppressor can give the shooter the ability to see a bullet impact the target and discern weather or not it is adequate or if a follow-up shot is necessary.
    6.) It helps young shooters become acclimated to gun fire. Reducing the risk of "flinch" associated with noise and recoil.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  13 лет назад

    @gazzxr got one built for that too, except in South Dakota, our "desert" is more of an open grassy prairie. IMO it's a lot harder to hide in 18" of grass than it is to hide in a desert where scrub brush and bushes dot the landscape. I could walk for 5 miles without finding something taller than my knee caps.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  12 лет назад

    @2669Randy I/we utilize suppressors on all of our weapons, which nearly eliminates any shot signature when viewed from any notable distance. Not only that, if a shooter has an opportunity to get ONE shot off, it's already to late for you. It's only after a 2nd shot that you would be able to narrow down the direction the shot came from. That's just basic rules of field craft.
    Shooting suppressed completely changes the rules of the game.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  12 лет назад

    @zacthebold Well, lets shed some light on the topic.
    1.) They aren't awkward and perceived weight is relative to it's materials and position forward of the balance point. A shorter barrel and titanium can makes unnoticeable.
    2.) It's obvious that you've never heard a suppressor, because they are not giving you a means of hiding from a person. They are loud enough that you can easily hear. The suppressor only masks the location of the shot. Not the sound of the bullet in flight.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  14 лет назад

    @sniperofwiz I chose that spot specifically because it was closer to the camera than any other clip. It's really a dead give away once you know i'm there, as opposed to the other clips where even though you know where i'm at, its still hard to see.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  11 лет назад

    Neither rubber, nor canvas are used. Rubber has the potential to freeze stiff and can crack over time. The need for an added layer of insulation is unnecessary because that's what the ECWCS are for. The base layers are for protection from the cold, the overwhites and/or ghillie are meant to be as light weight and compact as possible, not to keep you warm. Added layers aren't needed if you plan your kit appropriately.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  13 лет назад

    @Reversalification good luck with that. The video of the coyote 6 pack on my channel was one of the coldest days of the year. -25 with about 10 mph wind. Without ECWCS underneith, I wouldn't have been able to handle it.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  12 лет назад

    @UserGoPro Blaze is usually only required to hunt game animals. Predator hunting in South Dakota (and most others) has no clothing requirement or restriction.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  12 лет назад

    @moc041 nothing about the suit or the name suggests "trees" either, but it's equally at home in either environment. If it were meant to be used ONLY in trees, I would have given it a break up pattern rather than a solid white look.
    The simple fact that I didn't have access to open country when I did the video means nothing. The one I'm working on now is in full HD.
    Stay tuned, the evolution of the suit is progressing nicely.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  14 лет назад

    @SymAmineC8H11N can't say i've ever mountaineered in them, but i have climbed some awful steep canyons and rough country hunting in the winter. They are awful slippery but I use those slip on ice gripper teeth things that Ice Fishers use so they dont fall on their ass. Helps a lot if the snow is packed or if it's powder and the ground underneath is frozen. they dont take up much space in a pack and are nice and light if i do need to wear them.

  • @hellhoundvorago4961
    @hellhoundvorago4961 11 лет назад

    My guess is that this suit would use some kind of steel brushed white plastic as one of the materials used. But it could still be viewed as a " ripstop material" for sure around barbwire so it would have to have some kind of non reflective protective coating on it.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  14 лет назад

    no burlap here. snow doesnt stick, suit is 100% water and windproof. wont freeze solid, wont get wet, weighs less than 4 pounds total.

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  13 лет назад

    @fabe61 I hunt predators with it in the winter. Fox, Coyotes, Bobcat and eventually Mt Lion. It's impossible to know if I'm more successful BECAUSE of it, because my skill as a hunter are improving or just because I get lucky. When you hunt predators, especially if they have been hunted before...you're going to want every advantage you can get.
    Those guys that hunt coyotes in jeans and a Tshirt may score, but not the places we hunt. Use any advantage you can get. See description for pricing

    @2669Randy you're thinking 1 dimensionally. This isn't a suit designed for the weekend gamer. It was built to hunt with. Regardless, this is used from distances ranging from 400-1200 yards and the chance of finding someone that knows how to use it is near impossible from that distance.
    The new video I'm working on is filmed in HD and will be done with a 10x zoom from beyond 200 yds. This is comparable to most fixed power optics that would be utilized by a counter sniper.

    @zacthebold 3.) It gives the shooter and any companions, the ability to shoot without the need for hearing protection. Increasing the level of communication and reducing the risk of accidents.
    4.) Poaching or illegal hunting is wrong and anyone that goes through the legal channels of obtaining a suppressor isn't going to risk a felony by using it in an illegal manner.

    I live in South Dakota and NEVER hunt wooded areas. I used the scenery in the video because it had the most snow. BTW, there is no "black" in nature, so why would I put black on it?
    The reason it's a ghillie, is because I can add bits and pieces of grass, sticks or branches, depending on the location I was in at the time...which you can see at 3:55 when there are some pieces of pine bow on my back

    I only assume you're visualizing this as a means to snipe people in a wartime situation. In that case...you try and find ANYONE that would follow footprints in the snow to locate a sniper. That would be a perfect way to get yourself killed. If you were going to try following tracks, you'd be shot 600 yds before you even knew where to look.
    Dont u suppose a sniper would know enough to watch his "6" to make sure he isnt being tracked?

  • @theonlyrealcbass16
    @theonlyrealcbass16  13 лет назад

    @MrDip02 I offer the 150 suit as a courtesy for the kids that want to play war games and have some hot coco later. There is a lot of work and material cost that goes into making something by hand from scratch. That's why no one else makes one like this and the ones that do, are not waterproof or ripstop. If i sold 10 suits for 100, I might get 200 profit and it would take me forever, If I sold 3 suits at 400, I make the same profit in 1/3 the amount of time. It's basic marketing principles.

    Actually it totally depends on the state AND game animal. Forty states require the wearing of hunter orange while hunting. Oregon is one of just ten states that does not. Other states without hunter orange requirements include Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, and Vermont. Some states that do require orange only require it for specific animals. If you hunt in many states you learn the different regs.

I wear ECWCS under mine cause it's ultra durable, waterproof and has the arm pit / groin zippers 2 keep me cool while I hike to where I'm going and then when I get there...just zip back up to stay warm. I've seen guys make 1 piece ghillie suits and IMO, that's a huge mistake. It's just to hard to modify on the fly if you've gotta try to get it off.

    6:03 was the only one (so far, haven't got past it yet) that I saw him in. I saw him in another, but then thought, not him, and moved on, keeping my focus in the area, but if I'd been staring right at him, if he'd had a weapon he'd have still killed me.
