Ghillies are beck watchers/fishing guides and look after rivers. To catch poachers they made these suites. Game keepers look after mainly pheasants, partrige and deer. But either way, it is all a criminal activity.
These suits are amazing even on their own with zero experience. The first part of this video where theyre just walking into the wooded area, you can already see them starting to blend in even while moving.
This is one of those things teachers should have said to us during math class. Not "in case you want to be an engineer" or "if you have to count your change in store" but "if you want to be a sniper, do well in math". If I had that motivation I would love my math classes.
hey the Celts painted their faces and so did the scottish highlanders and they were badasses. Snipers for the most part are some of the biggest badasses out there
Awesome vid. Thanx for sharing. Why all the contention. We should be supporting our troops and soldiers. These men and women give everything to become the best and I for one respect that!
That makes sense, but if you keep in mind basic physics, it makes sense that paintball technically, and theoretically hurts more. This is because, if we assume air soft BBs and paintballs shoot at about the same rate, for the most part, then a paintball will hurt , more because it has more mass. Which will hurt more, an asteroid the size of a grain of sand, or one as big as button? The one weighing more will hurt more, as long as they move the same rate, as we can assume.
Thank you. I'm 14, and coming from me it might not mean much. But my grandpa, a former medic, would tell people who were drafted to just do what they tell you and you'll be fine. And he was right. I wish you great hopes.
+Tony Roberts He was partially joking and being humble lol. He was also respecting snipers in the past because technology has gotten better and does make it "easier".
Wow a lot has changed. I was in class 6-92, in the old WW II barracks. They have probaly burned down by now! I heard you can buy 6' rolls of burlap from Ranger Joes at Benning for material. Thank God for Shoe GOO!!!
Our infantry shoots at 35o yards in the army and 500 yards in the USMC, snipers train from 300-1000 yards, the 300 being urban combat specific. Our snipers are the best in the world, army pretty damn good. Marines, Seals, other SO units. Best on the planet. having said that ill give other countries their fair shake, they are also very good marksman.
@MrAmbjorn Not only sniper sounds cooler, it has actual roots. The "snipe" is a bird native to England, and it is a small bird at that. The bird itself had great vision, so it could spot you from a good distance away. To shoot, and kill this bird you had to be a expert marksman. Almost anyone who shot one of these birds was known as a "sniper".
Ah and another thing... The canadians also use the Macmillan tac. 50, which fires a 50 cal round. Was used to break the world record for the longest recorded sniper kill at 2430 m, made by Rob Furlong during operation Anaconda... My bad, i just remembered that Carlos Hathock holds the world record... 2432 m... He set it during the Vietnam War, and actually he was american, and he used one shot.
@madcow3095 yes but the vegetation is not permanent, it is only used temporarily. as the instructor stated, a sniper may move through 3-4 different types vegetation, that's why they use pipe cleaners to quickly tie and untie the vegetation as they move through different regions
I like the video. My only critique would be at the end when they show the sniper in position with ghillie. I think they should have started the scene with camera zoomed out to demonstrate the effectiveness of the camouflage and then zoomed/located sniper. I'm not sure if camera was remote or not but it seems like the sniper painted the camera man with his muzzle at the end of video as well...
I'm 13 I want to be a sniper in the army my dad and mom does not think I can do it but my sister thinks I can I have a ghillie suit in my room and I bought a pellit gun my self and went in went in my backyard and put and put a pan up on a stick and used it as a target lol my mom got mad when she found out there was wholes in it lol. do u guys think I can do it leave a commit
Dude you know that is incorrect. Hathcocks longest shot with the M-2 was 2286. It took 35 years before it was broken. We used to have canadian snipers come to train with us in 29 palms and some of those guys are really good. I still prefer Marines but they do have some very gifted shooters.
At 2.47 - If the camera would have initially filmed at a distance and then zeroed-in, I think many of us simply would not have seen that sniper at all. None the less impressive.
Strange thing is, that someone was trying to make a bigfoot sighting here in my state (Washington, in the Western side of the state, im in the desert Eastern half), and when he walked across the road in a ghille suit a lady driving thought he was bigfoot and ran him over and killed him. . . really.
Well, i do know that the SAS has some of the most hardest training in the world. And as i said, i don't want to argue because everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and, even though i do play call of duty, doesn't mean i got my knowledge of the SAS off of it. And to be honest... I barely know anything about canadian vs american snipers i was just trying to stop people from arguing about it.
@MrAmbjorn the snipe is a bird that Englishmen would hunt. they had excellent vision and they where very small so you had to be a expert marksmen to hit them. thats just what ive heard not sure if its true but i know sniper is a correct term
@coffeetrc777 The .50 cal can take out helicopters with regular rounds and I know it isn't used exclusively for personnel. The .50 cal is usually used for long distances and to take out targets behind cover etc. Yes I get your point but I already knew that but oh never mind.
ok, do this little simple experiment for me, take a pen and a needle. poke yourself with the needle, then use the pen using the same force. the needle hurst alot more because of the small surface area, it breaks the skin easier and causes more pain, a pen however, due to its greater surface area, will hurt alot less because it isnt passing through any tissue.
@gottalottastuff your right but we never wait months, longest iv been in the bush was was a week tops. We are given the location 48hours before subject arrives. otherwise we would undergo cabin fever.
i dont mean to hate on the army because i respect all snipers, but marine scouts are trained better, 9 weeks to 5 weeks... Respect to anyone who can remain unseen for days.
In the Australian Army you get paid like AUD$23,700 for a 5 year scholarship into the army from the age of 18 and up. My younger cousin started it two years ago and has already secured his place in a squad. You also get educational benifits, ie. you get to go to university/college for something years during your time in the army. There is also something similar if you wish to become a pilot at RAAF Williamstown base or similar. Also you are epic @Imca1000
@wrobert445 My Dad was an expert Sniper(highest ranking sniper, above marksman) during the 80's for the U.S. Army, he was sent on suicide mission in Turkey and from what I heard being a sniper is the most difficult job in the world, you have to be a super human to even do the job, requires tremendous intelligence, your mind has to work in a different way than most people, you have to be able to make calculations in your head really fast, and I don't think someone like you can do it.
some the best snipers are from Israel , Ireland won the award for some of the best sniping, Canada has a long history of sniping, Sweden, England, and America
But all that stuff that you just said adds to the natural affect of a sniper and if you are laying there and an enemy patrol walks past and smells badger piss they are going to walk away cause it smells, and if you have a completely dried out suit in a wet forest then you can be spotted 10x easier. And if you move to scare away a bird you may as well consider yourself dead on the spot.
@bongchampion I'm not completely sure mate but I think they'd prefer you to take eye-lasering first. I think the medial/psych-standards are pretty high for becoming a marksmen.
@1edgyguy Holy shit, I haven't heard the 7 P's in years. My 1SG was all about that when I was in (2002-2006). I honestly think I'm the last generation of soldier who heard the 7 p's, & all of those fun cadences that are now not PC enough to do anymore. Sad times.

The Ghillie suit was introduced to the military by the British,Scottish ghillies or game keepers to be precise!!
Randal Flagg watch out insulting peoples Intelligence they may go Berserk lol
Ghillies are beck watchers/fishing guides and look after rivers. To catch poachers they made these suites. Game keepers look after mainly pheasants, partrige and deer. But either way, it is all a criminal activity.
I used this for hunting and a deer started to nibble at me thinking I was grass
TrevisEdward 0608 lol XD
TrevisEdward 0608 heh, that's kinda funny.
If you are real one you would have let him finish
lol
did you kick him in the balls
Oh crap I can't be a sniper I suck at math
These suits are amazing even on their own with zero experience. The first part of this video where theyre just walking into the wooded area, you can already see them starting to blend in even while moving.
You don't need a suit to stay hidden just force the video to play in 144p
This is one of those things teachers should have said to us during math class. Not "in case you want to be an engineer" or "if you have to count your change in store" but "if you want to be a sniper, do well in math". If I had that motivation I would love my math classes.
i think everyone thats ever watch a war movie always kinda wanted to be a sniper!!

Not for bow hunting or predator hunting...
Bill Watkins what do you mean predator hunting

Looks like a Wookie fan meetup. Guys! It's the Arby's on 5th St next to the car wash.
Pretty cool though, I love the science behind camouflage.
That makes sense, but if you keep in mind basic physics, it makes sense that paintball technically, and theoretically hurts more. This is because, if we assume air soft BBs and paintballs shoot at about the same rate, for the most part, then a paintball will hurt , more because it has more mass. 5 weeks?! I went through 2 1/2 months! 10 weeks of hell!
Rich Chel You a sniper? or did u fail?
Susan Banks he failed the test
Thank you. I'm 14, and coming from me it might not mean much. But my grandpa, a former medic, would tell people who were drafted to just do what they tell you and you'll be fine. And he was right. I wish you great hopes.
i wanna go to Fort Benning!!! i consider myself as a good and skilled shooter , but i think i need a lot of more ....we're always learning
I heard chris kyle in an interview with conan obrian say that you dont have to be smart to be a sniper everything is automated.
Tony Roberts Not necessarily true.
That's complete bullshit.
Thank God for Shoe GOO!!!
ghillies are my favorite sniper team and their camouflage is perfect for jungles and forest or even plains.
Our infantry shoots at 35o yards in the army and 500 yards in the USMC, snipers train from 300-1000 yards, the 300 being urban combat specific. +killerlegend didn't expect to see you on this! I thought you were a sjb spam!
@madcow3095 yes but the vegetation is not permanent, it is only used temporarily. as the instructor stated, a sniper may move through 3-4 different types vegetation, that's why they use pipe cleaners to quickly tie and untie the vegetation as they move through different regions
looks like bigfoot with a gun

no
No. Is commit a new word?
oh
Nicholas Tello Do well in school and apply.
Mr. Obvious no, commit isn't a new word. He just may have used the wrong word by accident or autocorrect may have messed it up.
ArmA 2 is the closest it'll get to realism for video games.
Who is here after PUBG!!!
I like those ghillie suits.
Sounds amazing.. you stay sharp and quiet... like on the movies or probably not :D
Firdst time I saw this thing in Call of Duty Modern Warfare... mission is called 'all ghillied up' and 'one shoot, one kill'
Everyone who wears a Ghillie suit looks like Bigfoot with a gun.

man ..this is my world...SNIPER !!
ghillie suits r like military arts and crafts :D
i was hoping the guy at the end would get up say i'm right here
The suits are greeeeennnnn

Did you go yet?
@gottalottastuff
your right but we never wait months, longest iv been in the bush was was a week tops. We are given the location 48hours before subject arrives. otherwise we would undergo cabin fever.
ive got a ghillie suit! there awesome!!!
Damn. I think I accidentally deleted everyone’s comments. Go ahead and add them all back!!!
I wanna be a sniper more then anything I just can’t do math to save my life.. it’s the most depressing shit.
Nice video.
@brinco99 360 noscopes are the first lessons in sniper school
i dont mean to hate on the army because i respect all snipers, but marine scouts are trained better, 9 weeks to 5 weeks... Respect to anyone who can remain unseen for days.

Make your own. Thats what real snipers do.
@aroccop i think the remington 700 (or m24) is the standard issue rifle and the 7.62 is the standard round, but i'm no sure about the scope
this is a sweet vid, salutes to all of the men defending our nation
@wrobert445 My Dad was an expert Sniper(highest ranking sniper, above marksman) during the 80's for the U.S. Army, he was sent on suicide mission in Turkey and from what I heard being a sniper is the most difficult job in the world, you have to be a super human to even do the job, requires tremendous intelligence, your mind has to work in a different way than most people, you have to be able to make calculations in your head really fast, and I don't think someone like you can do it.
they look cute in that suite
Its not a certain colour that they all use, they first find out what terrain they will be in and then make one for that purpose
Bush Wookies!My favourite!
im a sniper tranie and i think it. is allo more fun then what it looks like
Actully theres already a suit that hids from thermal/infared, its called a tac suit. Its classiefied for now.
Someone needs to invent a ghillie suit that works against infrared sights.
I made one for paintball and it worked great I had people walk right past me and never saw me.
know i want to go to school like that.
some the best snipers are from Israel , Ireland won the award for some of the best sniping, Canada has a long history of sniping, Sweden, England, and America
@rs4us yea but it has to hit the glass on a certain angle, so if it does hit you'll be visible, but that'd be pretty rare
@GameFreaksStudios Thats why god invented the JDAM. Then again the 50.cal is awesome... wait NO they are usually recon/anti personel.
@tommybrannon just for like airsoft and stuff. but i usually do wait for a while. but we use an entire town to play so there is quite a bit of travel
it is your dominant eye that you shoot with so if you aree left eye dominant then you should shoot from your left shoulder. hope this help (Y)
at 2:55 i got scared when the man came up nice suit
Steps to become a ghille pro
1:get a sniper rifle
2:a suit
3:go to the woods camp and drink vodka
@ninpo4life it's not art, its a behavior pattern of organized violent conflict
But all that stuff that you just said adds to the natural affect of a sniper and if you are laying there and an enemy patrol walks past and smells badger piss they are going to walk away cause it smells, and if you have a completely dried out suit in a wet forest then you can be spotted 10x easier. And if you move to scare away a bird you may as well consider yourself dead on the spot.
I Bet 10 Years From Now, Technology Would Advance So Much That We Wudnt Even Need Ghillie Suits Nomore. We Would Have Cloaking Devices. xD
@bongchampion I'm not completely sure mate but I think they'd prefer you to take eye-lasering first. I think the medial/psych-standards are pretty high for becoming a marksmen.
Thats Friking Awesome
I notice that with my hunting ghille. You're right
@AKx4 Not if you buy a quality gun, they don't break. They do leave marks, too.
My brother said: Oh mom, its like the suit you wear in cod mw2! Mom please buy me one of these, my friends would think im cool.
What do you do if the world is contaminated by zombies?! *muffin: pull out insta-kill*
My brother is at fort benning for airborn training
@1edgyguy Holy shit, I haven't heard the 7 P's in years. My 1SG was all about that when I was in (2002-2006). I honestly think I'm the last generation of soldier who heard the 7 p's, & all of those fun cadences that are now not PC enough to do anymore. Sad times.
1:50 in the backround, that is a beautiful picture :')
The guy at the end had to move because there was a log in the way.
for a second i though there were 20 big foots!! that scared me!
@MrAmbjorn thats a title someone is given for being a good sniper
This is how I imagine bigfoot would look
CARA MUITO LEGAL.
