- A friend called and asked me if I wanted to go and help him set up hunting camp. He said it was only a 6 mile horse ride. Right, well after 14 miles and a climb up to a Alpine Lake at 11800 feet in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Colorado High Country. It was a hard trail packing the horses in and with his camp. I questioned going along but it was a good adventure into the High Country and I did enjoy it. I just didn't tell him that
I could watch this just for the background noise! Miss those sounds.
glad you enjoyed it
You know you're in for a fun trip when the pack saddles, and panniers all look almost brand new. :)
yes you are it was fun to watch
Superb cinematography.
thank you so much
Oh the freedom of riding the mountain trails on horses and with friends. The comradery doing this is awesome. Thanks for sharing!
glad you enjoyed better trails ahead this year
Could have had one more horse just for the bed rolls. " Born one hundred years to late" (He's a RUclipsr also,) He has me sold on mules, they are the pack animals that will pack. Yep, can't beat a good mule.
Bret and I are freinds ( born a 100years to late) these folks were trying a bed roll for the first time it was fun to watch
Happy New Year. Glad to see you out on the trail! We do enjoy your content. Me, I love those unexpected longer days (That is unless the weather sours).
Temps look decent for ~12,000ft. I was backpacking in the Sierra at 11,000ft the end of September, we were in the teens at night and there was still snow in the shadows. Had one heck of a snow fall year in 2023. The higher elevations were still packed with snow.
Awesome! Thank you!
Glad you made it out ok. Good ride. Happy New Year to you and the Mrs! Looking forward to many more this year 😊
Same to you! safe trails ahead this year
I can't tell you how many rips, tears and repairs our company pack saddles have. I recently went to price a couple deckers just for my self and after seeing that, I just had to start repairing what we had. No shade to the craftsmen that make them. It's just a sign of the times.
yes it is
Beautiful ride ... no lash ropes or hitches ..lol made it though .. Funny you made this I'm leaving to pack in a hunting camp for my Nephew in the morning ... Good Stuff !
Good to hear you are going out camping Hope you will make a video of it
@@cowdogflicks I did .. but now my mule died and I'm searching for another
Really enjoy your videos!! Those are some tough horses. Got my respect. Thanks so much for sharing your adventures. Much appreciated by one who no longer has the means to keep horses.
Take care. Wishing you a very blessed New Year. 🌲🌄 ♥️
