    I’ve been training in a 25 meter pool. With one breath I swim under water for 25-50 meters, repeat 8 times. I advised the lifeguards in advance that I would be FreeDive training so they would not think I’m unconscious. The lifeguards thanked me alerting them, saying I risk shallow water blackout. We reached agreement that I would swim in the lane right next to the lifeguard station so they can monitor me. I didn’t even bother to do max holding training because that would freak them out.

    I totally agree. After hard pool trainings, deep dives look so easy :). Thank you for your videos.

    Helpful suggestions… do you have one for dynamic no fins for the pool ? I’m good with doing 8-10 times 50m with 1:30 in between (around 8 recovery breaths)…

    And something else about training sessions with static/dynamic mixes… it’s mentally more stressful putting the static -part after the dynamic part or even do static before and after dynamics… even Sta/DYN/Sta/DYN is possible … it’s also very rewarding because you’re underwater for at least 2 to 2,5mins and more. I like that exercise with dynamic-no fins.

      Yes, that's exactly the reason I always place the STA before the DYN. The point is to build confidence with the dive profile (wait until the bottom, and then fin up with focus).
      Since STA first, then DYN can easily reach the same dive time as a deep dive, you build a neurological/subconscious familiarity and confidence with the dive time & profile (relaxed descent, active ascent).

    Great video! Can you please clarify something though? For the static/dynamic exercises, you say that ideally you should do a static equal to the descent of your dive, but then in your examples, you are suggesting a static equal to the depth of your dive, for example a 40m dive, you would do a static for 40 seconds. If you are doing a static equal to the descent of your dive, should the static not be 20 seconds then?

      40m dive is, 40m down, 40m up with a. Total time of +/- 1:20.. so the decent is 00:40s

    if you have 7 month for pool training, how you will divide this time for this type of training (pool for depths) ?

    would it be unsafe to do this after a gym workout? I'm thinking of doing this at the gym with a short workout before/after.

      I wouldn't say safe Vs unsafe.. but if you do apnea / breath holding after a workout, your breath holds will feel like crap.. much better to do them before or on non working days

    Do you think doing 25 meter sprints is an ok training method to improve finning technique? I think it’s pretty fun 👌

    • @trainfreediving2772
      @trainfreediving2772  3 года назад

      That depends on your issue.
      If you aren't using good technique because you lack the strength / endurance in any main/ stabalizing muscles then yes, short sprints will help a lot.
      Of your technique is bad becisse your making a mistake / don't know what your supposed to do, then no.
      First you need to work with a coach / camera to analyze your mistake(s) and fix those before drilling & strengthening improper technique
