Amazing when you look at how many more people Jeff inspired in Europe than in America. Radiohead (UK), and his huge following in France that got him onto charts before people outside of New York, USA even knew who he was
No bullshit, just straight technique. Great video, immediately when you said to keep your belly light and tight for the high notes, I tried it for the intro on mojo pin and immediately it was easier.
@@TheoNtTV I started practicing exactly what you describe here to get the tone of Tilian Pearson on 'We own the night' (from the band Dance Gavin Dance). So hopefully it's a strategy that will pay off in a couple of months.
A tenor's speaking voice/tessitura is higher than that of a baritone. If you're a baritone, it's normal that you'll be more comfortable singing in the lower range. You can expand your range to reach higher into the tenor's range, but it's not going to be as resonant. Jeff's low notes are pretty weak/not as resonant (yes, his range is wide, but it's not wholesome throughout). You don't need to sound exactly like him if you are a bari -- just try to sound your best with what you've got. Play with vocal stylings, intensity, etc.
I don’t feel he is a “great singer”, very careful, sometimes guttural, reaches very high but not very masterful, with cultivated “wild screams”. I grew up with early Queen, stones, and zeppelin and would never listen to Buckley “for his voice”. I don’t think he was that fascinated with his own voice either. What however is LOVELY and precious about him is his mood, spirit.
His dad, Tim Buckley, it’s the most original singer of his decade (just because he’s not popular doesn’t prove anything) and a greatest singer is not about range (that’s trash, because a range is just a measure and limited creativity, in art measures dont exist, it’s boring)
Thank you all for the support and comments!

@@patypus555 His low notes aren't entirely weak though. If they were he wouldn't be known as such a great singer
