What other stores do you think might go out of business in 2025? Ebay Store reviews to close out 2024 and start 2025. 1 week, 2 weeks or 4 week plans. Email me for info: Rockstarflipper@gmail.com
TBH, I'm surprised that the Container store didn't go under years ago. They are not cheap. There's one near the Galleria across town from where I live, and that's an affluent area. To me, you can get cheaper stuff at Wallyworld. Once people stop paying $10 for a cup of coffee, Starbucks will need to reduce their prices or go under. Where's Milo? He's so cute.
Elfa closet system is keeping the Container Store in business, in my opinion. Someone needs to buy Elfa. It's worth every penny, and there's nothing like it on the market.
Its sad to see any company go out of business. Some more than others. I never had an interest in the container store.. Not my thing. However here recently 16,000 party city employees overnight out of work... 27,000 at big lots... Thousands and thousands more from downsizing and store closures from companies attempting to not go fully under water.. Ive seen this topic on toxic reddit many times. Seems like most people consider these jobs shit jobs and glad to seem them go however I think this is a very simple minded outlook at the situation overall. The unemployment stats in this country are WAY underrated. By ONLY counting the number of "active" able bodied people looking for work within "the last 4 weeks"... They get this number off the CPS (current population survey) of individuals that participate in a "survey" asking "have you looked for work within the last 4 weeks"... cmon.. The situation is much, much worse than anyone cares to understand or pay attention to.
I actually love the container store. I saved and got the elfa tower baskets for my pantry years ago and I will take it with me when I move lol. It is wonderful and there is really nothing comparable in terms of quality imo. They do have a large variety unlike the big box stores. (I’ve found storage items are not cheap wherever you get it unless you’re just buying totes on sale) I have gotten some wonderful deals in the CS clearance section. And they used to have fun unique little stocking stuffers at Christmas time. BUT having said all that, I do not frequent there because A.it’s not close B. It’s expensive. But I would hate to see it go so I hope they can turn it around.
What about Joann? I believe that they recently restructured, but aren't out of the woods yet. Zulily was bought out, but I don't think that the Container Store will survive. Just my opinion. 😊
My husband has always had a weird fascination with the container store; Johnson Co. in the KC metro area has a ritzy area with one and I have been inside a few times. I don't get it myself, and even for my husband he thinks it's kind of silly but enjoys looking at it all. I won't yuck another's yum, but I can see why they'd be struggling a bit RN.
We have one here in King of Prussia; it’s so huge and overwhelming and yeah it’s just expensive unless there is something super niche that you can’t find, I guess it’s a last ditch shot; but there’s money there so maybe they do alright. Hopefully they make it because that would be a huge huge empty building right on 202.
