  • Welcome back to the channel, in this episode I install my 402 big block chevy into my 1970 Chevy Nova. If you've been following the build you have seen me assemble this big block 402 that's been bored out .60 over so it's around 413 cubic inches now. I put a Comp Cams cam and valve train in the top end, to see the build go back and watch my last video of the assembly. I pull the hurt 383 SBC stroker out because the engine had oil burning issues and was out of balance so its getting a rebuild coming soon. The swap goes pretty smooth over all, we did have some fitment issues but nothing major. The cam break in went really smooth with no issues and the cam chop sounds amazing. I've put around 100 miles on the setup and everything seems to be living together as it should. I'm really liking the low end torque from the big block and the deeper sound is amazing I'll probably be leaving the 413 BBC in the car for a while if it decides to survive and stay running. If you guys are liking the content please give it a thumbs up and dont forget to subscribe to follow all the builds on the channel.

Did you change the engine frame mounts? The passenger side should be shorter correct?

Looks good, sounds good, and most likely she smells good. Love the wheels, Torq Thrust D's 6-inch wide in front and 8-inch wide in back?

Just my opinion but no small block or LS looks as cool and impressive as a Big block under the hood.

I agree completely that big block just looks so huge and aggressive in there, if I end up swapping it again it will be for a bigger big block 💪🏻

Sweet build! What pulley kit are you running? I have a 72 Nova with a 402, I’m digging those pulleys.

It’s a Gilmer belt drive here’s a link to a similar kit, you can get them through Summit Jegs eBay Amazon.

    Beautiful car buddy!
I have a question I am installing a 454 in my 1970 nova . What frame mounts and what motor mounts did you use? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thanks man! I used stock style big block frame mounts and solid Moroso big block and small block engine mounts. The stock style engine mounts were too shallow and wouldn’t line up right so the Moroso mounts are taller and worked perfectly.

Thanks man 🙌🏻 the headers are stainless no name eBay probably made in China, the frame brackets are just stock Nova big block frame mounts eBay or amazon and the motor mounts are Moroso solid mounts for big block or small block.
