    I studied the Prelude 1 with your tutorial, I think one year ago, and now I can play it very well. Thank you very much for that. Since that time, I studied other musics, but Today I’ve started to study Fuga 1, and I’m here again to practice with your tutorial. Thanks a lot. Greetings from Brazil.

      @@BW_Crunch_MB the Czerny op.599 exercises are much easier than this Fugue. you’ll be able to speed through the opus. They start at level 1 and end around level 4. Made tutorials as a continuation of my sight-reading series. Do you play scales and arpeggios? those use both hands and are invaluable for building technique.

      @@janepianotutorials ok! Thank you for that one. I'm looking into that today. I'll check out your video(s) too. And definitely, I practice scales everyday. Currently on Bf minor(really like the contrary scales, but I work on all of them) almost at the end and going to start again on the circle of 5th. Thanks again Jane. I appreciate you so much!

    Among the most difficult you've uploaded whew :0 i should be tackling this full on in a few months. time to rewatch it 200 times over :D!!!!!

    • @janepianotutorials
      @janepianotutorials  6 лет назад

      Really? This fugue should not be that difficult. Must be the way I played it, gives the impression of pulling teeth.

    • @Li-yt7zh
      @Li-yt7zh 6 лет назад

      Jane Lolololololl no u played it quite well Jane. i avoid fugues from the wtc in general because i'm overly particular about how i want to interpret them. always hoping for "more" re the majority of interpretations out there. i know it's Bach, and purists hate interpretations that are too wet or too rhythmically charged, really anything more risque than Gould , but i like 'em on the edge. there's tons of choices to get that atmosphere..nearly everything can be tweaked just so, into that perfect temperature porridge for picky Bear No. 3 (me!? :p) It takes some time - much more time than i've got with my full plate of Chopin and al for now Plus, it is a difficult set in every way. if u feel comfortable with these, you have developed strong fundamentals! probably from all that uploading :D!
      Already have tons of ideas tho! and i really like baroque so i'll probly take this on at some not too distant point! (it's already treacherously difficult in my head haha :)) honestly a bit overwhelmingly so). Bravos and kudos for the more than adequate upload. And in the least, Dental work accompaniment: checked!

      Not sure what fingering method I should use. I'm using several videos of this piece for guidance but the fingering is not the same in either one. I guess I'll just find what's comfortable. :P

    • @janepianotutorials
      @janepianotutorials  9 лет назад

      Fingering depends on individual hand structure. that is the reason editions vary. it is definitely okay to adjust given fingering to suit our hands. search "fingering" on my website to read more on the subject :)

    Pretty nice tutorial))
    I've just bought so-called Urtext WTC book - sheet as it was initially written by Bach, without any editor's fingering etc. Looks like it's gonna big difficult for me to play it through, since I'm a beginner and needed tutorial already at the first fugue))

    • @janepianotutorials
      @janepianotutorials  8 лет назад +2

      Thanks, Mator. Glad you desire to learn these great works. Other than the 1st prelude, students usually do not play these WTC pieces until their 5th year, after the 2 & 3 part inventions. Like Urtext editions, they are well done. I myself prefer no fingering to following an editor's. Try to fit in scale/arpeggio practice each day. Those build technique and help with fingering. Have fun learning piano!

    Jane, don't mind the critics. There are people who manage to find something wrong or dislike the performances of Rubinstein, Gould, Arrau, Pollini, Lisitsa. So, let them be what they are... without stupids there wouldn't be smart people.
