Long live Hungary! (This is Hungarian military march, Francis II Rákóczi was a Hungarian nobleman and leader of the Hungarian uprising against the Habsburgs in 1703-11 as the prince of the Estates Confederated for Liberty of the Kingdom of Hungary. He was also Prince of Transylvania, an Imperial Prince, and a member of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Today he is considered a national hero in Hungary.)
Not sure about best ever , doubtless the most charismatic one (Toscanini, Klappertsbusch and few other could be considered also best ever… ) at that time I lived in Salzburg and remember exact the day when he died… he was a living legend..
The first bars are reminiscent of the Japanese army Drawn Sword march...would not be surprising, as the Meiji Era Japanese liked to imitate European music...
Isn't this Marche Hongroise, the opening piece at the 1994 LA 3 Tenors concert, in front of Sinatra and others? Except of course Mehta was conducting on that occasion.
Too fast for me ... But an enjoyable listen nonetheless. It's always good to explore variations yes? Conductor was fascinating to watch - a highly unique style. Also, seemed VERY German approach to this piece. Rigid tempo - execute exceptionally well - don't miss notes (sorry trombone early on - that was a blatant "extra" note that likely cost you a bit, eh?) ...
Rakoczi'nin vefat ettiği yerden (Tekirdag'dan) bütün Macar halkına sevgiler. Büyük kahraman 🇹🇷❤️🇭🇺

The genius maestro 🔥
Sublime...el collado de la Belleza.
Csodás!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One of the greatest conductors of all time
the best of all: Louis de Funes in Grande Vadrouille
Not one of the greatest but the greatest.
Of course i love this man but Claudio abbado and Carlos kleiber ? Leonard Berstein ? lastly New generation Gustavo dudamel ?
@@onerkest3305 LOVE those guys... I'll still take Karajan... over everyone!
What I see that he (Karajan) turned a march into a piece of art. I am from Hungary BTW
1:50 is the most glorious piece of classical misuc
Karajan is best conductor. bravo!
Really! How about Kleiber, Klemperer,Fricsay, etc.
Konzertmeister Michel Schwalbé Wunderbar, sehr nostalgisch !
Seldom do you see Herbert von Karajan get quite this worked up. A terrific performance !
grazie maestro Karajan!!!
Vive la Musique Classique !!! Je kiff
Bello en composición e interpretación.
Herbert von Karajan is the best conductor ever.

Generally, I would agree. I would not, however, call him the best Bach conductor, for instance.
@@surengrigorian7888 Bach is SOOO subjective... very hard to get to people to agree on a Bach pianist... little alone a conductor...
best conductor
Trombone group - the best)
The Best !Bravo
El mejor director.
explosion sound. best of best !!!
MAGNIFICO
Bravo!

Cooooooool!!!
Great🎶🎼🎶🎼🎶🎼🎶🎼🎶🎼
The first bars are reminiscent of the Japanese army Drawn Sword march...would not be surprising, as the Meiji Era Japanese liked to imitate European music...
This is the scale it's originally meant to be played in. Every other version is just slightly too slow.
Prove it

When Placido Domingo came to Moscow, it was the opening piece :)

Es is ned leicht, des so schnö z'spün, glaubmas
I think it's Hans-Joachim Westphal
Good Karajan
please synchronise sound and video. At least make the sound come after the video instead of before.

Very different from Solti, i prefer Solti, but as quallity art is equal.
Karajan is proven to be better.

A Hungarian march... that is entirely French btw 😚
What the hell are you talking about?
originally written by Nikolaus Scholl, a conductor of Austro Hungarian Monarchy Army

Hardly a march ! Rather impatient interpretation. Loud and bombast, for sure. But without pride !
Agree, Solti does it far better imho
SCHRECKLICH !!!!!
nice but too fast. nobody could march this fast...and this is a march, not a gallop
Solti does it much better (imho).
Bravo!
