I may have personally given up the pursuit for a concrete answer regarding the existence of a "god" some time ago, resolving myself to the assumption that the most likely scenario is probably true, but i have to admit, I admire his commitment to turning over every possible rock, despite the fact the he also accepts that he is unlikely to ever find a definitive answer.

A significant heuristic I used to eliminate the nonsense religions from my consideration was that a benevolent God would not approve of religious people routinely eating meat after He gave animals an ability to enjoy and suffer similar to us. Focusing on the vegetarian religions makes the search much more manageable.

How about this for an alternative conception of God:
Imagine that you are a lucid dreamer in the midst of a vivid dream that you can control. I’m talking about a dream whose three-dimensional features seem to be almost as real as the reality you experience outward.
Next, imagine forming your dream substances into the shape of a large mirror - a mirror with perhaps a beautiful frame around it.
Now, assuming that that mentally constructed mirror could actually reflect an image back at you, looking into it, what do you think you would see?
Well, I suggest that if you could actually see the true image of your inner-being (i.e., the creator of the mirror/your subjective “I Am-ness”) reflecting back at you, then you would be approaching a glimpse of what God must surely look like.

Zameen Z, of course God exists.
However, Islam (just like the rest of the world's religions) is just an impossible attempt by humans to visualize the modus operandi of a Being who is as far above humans in scope and consciousness as humans are above amoebas in scope and consciousness.
In borrowing from Buddhist mythology, Islam (like Judaism, Christianity, Hinduism, Buddhism, etc.) is just a temporary *“raft”* that carries humans across the river of earthly life, only to be abandoned upon the shore of death when the ultimate truth of God and reality will finally be revealed to us.

Exploring different teachings and paths, different names, as if trying different keys to try and unlock the doorway to the real God. My "experience" tells me that God is personal - often quite a micro-manager even... But works in my life through synchronicity and natural events. Stefano Portoghesi yes, but I have watched a lot of his videos and it is obvious he doesn’t like alternative Gods metaphysics because they challenge his binary assumptions of reality. It’s either there is no God or there is a personal God of the Bible. There can be no alternative. Many philosophers like Spinoza, Schopenhauer, and Whitehead were influenced by eastern philosophy and their alternative views of God. I respect the atheistic materialist viewpoint. There is enough provided by the universe to live a full and rich life with out a personal God but as an amateur philosopher I prefer Spinoza’s and Whitehead’s alternative views of God.

God is a construct dependent on one's culture. God represents something beyond human comprehension. The most popular forms of God come from different cultures thousands of years ago. Therefore it makes entire sense to try to connect with the infinite reality of being using the language of one's own time, place, experience, and culture. It seems to me that a great many people from history and prehistory have thought and experienced a great deal. Therefore reading and understanding their view as well as our own time is helpful on this journey.

What happens with a person who want to understand all religions, does he end up in one of them, keep on searching until the end or even became an atheist, just because enough is enough. Maybe most important question, does searching for divine makes a person spiritual and if so, who cares, does it really matter? First we should understand why would anybody be interested in spiritual tripping, perhaps because God is such a good idea everybody is talking about it.
Developmental theism sounds most reasonable, if you are an emperor of the world perhaps, since unified and scientifically constructed faith would be a totalitarian dream. Only question left would became, what if all they say is a absolute lie, to keep us materially and spiritually subordinated? Scientific religion is an ultimate ideological construct, whatever is integrated in scientific hierarchy of knowledge, will last forever and apply the same everywhere in known universe. Doesn't need to be spiritual, can only induce mental hallucinations and psychological instructions, using scientific institutions and social structure to take care for material needs of an individual. But it's not breeding human beings as cattle, it's not that kind of food chain or slavery, but optimization of physical and mental efficiency, therefore best and most stable way things can be considering reality as is. This is exactly how animals think, or better say plants, since their scientific range of possibilities is even more limited and everything reduce to efficiency in thriving along as perfect state of being only a plant can enjoy. If we talk about industrial plants, at least gardener can be proud on his botanic manifestations, it's all about beautiful garden where everybody are happy after all. Maybe we could plant humans instead of breeding, i can't see any significant difference, but if i can make suggestion, make all woman young, healthy and beautiful, and no need to bother with good eye sight. Nobody is perfect.
Most important object of power is the church. In old times, people were few and living in isolated tribes, where one guy was a chieftain and other weirdo was a shaman. Rest of the tribe were all idiots. Math was invented, everything can be calculated using only 1, 2 and many.

Time has the same meaning in relativity as it has in everyday light. To paraphrase Einstein, time is what your wristwatch measures. To me G.d is the conscienceness that flows through every thing. That means every thing. It means every thing is sound/frequeny/vibration. How fast the vibration/frequency is determines if it is a mineral or stone, plant seacreature or human! Because when your heart stops beating you will see a straight line on your EKG! NO VIBRATION! Even light is vibration/frequency!
To get your radio or TV turned in to the right frequency you have tune it in. Just think logically about all this. Every thing can be broken down to the smallest component. Molecules, quarks, etc. etc. We were created in G.ds image, not his physical image, but his spiritual image, since he is not physical! You could picture your physical body as a suit of clothing we put on or take of. We are really like a projection and every thing around us, us we have projected at first. Like a hologram which has solidified through time!
If you want to stay healthy vibrate at a higher level by projecting higher thoughts. Bacteria and viruses/illness vibrates at lower levels. I am going to be 89 and never been in a hospital except for child birth and have been a prisoner of war during WWII. Remember every thing is a frequency even G.d. Your thoughts are faster than light!!! Also remember what you associate with you become. On a lower level you could say, "When you l lie down with dogs you get up with fleas." When you associate with Angels, you will become like an angel. It does not matter what religion or church you belong to, it is all men created! The old Egyptians had 24 commandments, Christians only 10. They would say I have not killed or stolen, Christians say "Thou shall not..." Just remember what we believe in our heart, we create, good or bad...heaven or hell!🤔💖🙏

Well, according to the lady in the video, Her God is not a God that doesn't have to agree with his believers/creators ... Her God is a God that demands in herself to become a Saint ... Then, She - intellectually - can like her god's demand but she - existentially - tends to fear the consequences of becoming a Saint in a world inhabited & plagued by Predators of Saints ... Then, Her God is a challenging God inviting Her to test a risky way of being for Apes ... but on the other side, she has that tradition that uses Her God Sainty Suicidal Tendencies as a Totem that can provide Social Prestige and a Comfortable life inside the associated social-cultural institution ... Houses around the world, good food, people willing to listen to her, believers providing funds to the church, managing those funds in preserving the church by doing some charity and spreading 'the word' ...
She doesn't follow her God's demands but She lives Good thanks to the consequences of humans believing in her god ...
How do you expect that she would believe that her god is just a meaningless and useless imagination when that imagination is providing to her a lifestyle that she is already enjoying ...
Had You interest in becoming a Saint?
      Very likely, not at All.
It seems normal that someone who has aversion to becoming a saint shows the tendency to ridicule as meaningless a way of being that they fear from inside-out ...

@Stefano Portoghesi To be a saint is nothing supernatural, just be unselfish and serve everybody as if everybody is more valuable than the saint self ... It can be a human invention but a human invention that defies nature and the instincts for self-preservation ( fear to die or become a meal of others ) and the instincts for reproduction ...
It doesn't matter what others belief, if there is a saint, that implies a human will power that defies nature ...
Truly, between knowing a dude like Albert Einstein or Steve Jobs or whatever Famous historical human ... I prefer to know an unknown saint just to see what is to overcome human nature ...
I don't see nothing supernatural or magical in the possibility of a human willing to become a saint by wrestling with his/her animal instincts and selfish nature ... as all behavorial patterns once the threshold of inner resolutions and learning are dissipated by the practice and the behavior becomes spontaneous ... the specimen would be one between trillions ...
But Yep, I know, to expect Saintity for apes is like expect Diamonds from burned wood ... but at least, the burned wood contains carbon, so, for getting diamonds is needed to deploy enormous pressure on the material ...
... and that is nothing magical or that require to nurture irrational beliefs just try and test what happens ...
... and i don't want to speculate in what would be a saints community ...
In fact, as a thought experiment ... If a magic genius comes to me and he offers to me 1) A SuperIntelligent network of quantum computers connected to all the electronic devices of the planet and that will follow my desires as ineffable orders 2) to share a week in a community of 12 unknown Saints but after that, I will not remember the experience as a fact but as a dream and I will return to my life as it is before the genius comes to me with his offer ...
Believed or not, I will choose option 2 without hesitation ... and worst, I suspect that I would not deploy the passion to sell/communicate 'My dream' to the other apes ...
Because to believe in dreams is Absolutely not required for my existence ...
But that is a personal choice, a whim ... nothing transcendental or grandiose or truthfully ... just pure imaginative curiosity of knowing something improbable ...
      ------
For me is funny when contemporary humans elucubrate contemporary narratives about how primitive humans confronted their existence ... It is funny because they tend to project their beliefs as if the primitives were experiencing what a XXI century human believes that they were believing in ...
For some reason, Hardcore Objectivists call History or Anthropology ... proto-science, soft science up to just creative literature ...
Or contemporary Sociologists got methodological conflicts about defining their object of study and its methodology ...
Or psychologists with their reproducibility issues and spurious correlations of weak constructs ...
There is an existential abysm between the live real-time experience and the narratives made about the remembered experiences what bigger is that abysm when/where the narrative is constructed about experiences that do not belong to the experiencers ...
There is something childish in perform over-rationalizations about the past lived by others ...
My mature self doesn't tend to nurture those behavioral thinking patterns but the child in me continues to enjoy to deploy narratives for explaining what doesn't require more narratives as explanations of something intrinsically unexplainable ...
Living Existence as it is happening, right here and right now ...
The map is not the territory ...
Your 'rationality' astonishes 'me' in a similar way, as primitives dancing around their sacred tree would astonishing 'me' ...

He/She/It would incorporate all possible states.

The Truth is that there is no religion. There is faith.Either you believe,or not. Truth by definition, can only be one. Its supreme to everything else.
You chose what you believe in,but if your choice is to not to believe in anything,so le it be.
That is why I am a believer, because I have a choice. I choose to believe,I chose to accept, I decided that I understand that free choice and power of free will, are ground stones of every civilization, culture, sophistication, understanding and knowledge.

But if I only consider that possibility and in reality that God doesn't exist then I'll never be able to make any progress. @ReligionlessFAITH “Undefinable G-d” does not allow human service, because we, by the definition of His “irrationality” cannot know “what does He want of us”. Thus we can do whatever we like, while ignoring our acceptance of His existence. I agree that we cannot adequately describe Him or one hundred percent know His Will in respect to us, but I strongly disagree that we shouldn’t even try.

    • @davidrosenberg1644

@ReligionlessFAITH I cannot accept us being judgmental of Him. Say a question: “How Almighty G-d can allow evil to be?” I would meet with the question “How do you know, what is evil for Him?”. What we consider to be “cruel” or even “sadistic”, for Him might be absolutely necessary. One thing that I’m sure about is that everything, “good” and “evil”, comes from Him. The purpose of us being created is to serve Him. Why? Because nothing else truly matters or even exists, but Him. You might object that whatever we do is meant to serve Him in the best possible way. Agree, but our desire to serve that does present in some of us is also from Him and is meant to further better the things. That’s what I believe in and I see the usefulness of any philosophy only in the context of our service to Him. How specifically we need to serve, without any references to “goods” and “evils”.

For the latter I should be able to do without understanding the absolute truth, whatever it is.
